This change was intentional. What we heard from the vast majority of customers was that performance in 1.0 was unacceptable. One of the causes of the performance problems was those summary resources: They were pulling data from all interfaces and trying to join them, and the volume of most users' NetFlow traffic is simply…

So after you add a node in system manager, you want something to pop up and ask the user to enter some custom properties? If I understand you correct, that's not possible, as far as I know.

Can you back up? What is it you want to do? Where does the UnDP fall short?
-
Have you thought about a view with the Custom HTML resource listing links to other views? Sort of a portal?

Is there any update for this in NTA 4.0? I'm experiencing this issue as well and I was wondering if it was because I use the following: ip flow-export version 9 origin-as

The map option is better because it is simplistic and easy for the user to see. We're talking about executives mind you (who are clueless) LOL Thanks for your replies!!

You need to make a poller for each OID in the MIB. I've made feature request in the past to walk the MIB and allow selection of OIDs by check box to make a poller. Other programs do this and it's absolutely wonderful and a huge time saver.

I must've overlooked some important information about Network Atlas and ConnectNow originally. I ended up finding the information that would've saved me some time in an obscure note in the knowledge base stating that ConnectNow will only build a topology on Layer 2 information; using a combination of a Bridge MIB and an…

Figured this out. Please disregard.

Worked this out in the end. We had disabled the 'Disable Auto Save' as the pop up was annoying users so enabled it and found that the text saved as expected. Dan

I can grab the source code of the table from the F5 view that I want and place it into a Custom HTML box in my Summary View, but that's pretty hokey. Really need more portability with widgets in the Orion console...

Not yet, but coming soon.

Most likely, it's a permissions issue. If you look at the alerting service, it's likely running as one of the default service accounts. If you were to change it to use a local or domain account, that you know had rights to PSExec and the items that PSExec was doing, you should see it work without an issue. Try using the…

Also! There's a feature request out there to add labels to nodes that might help:

This isn't terribly critical, so I am resorting to the forum for this rather than open up a ticket. It seems the upgrade to 8.5 has hidden all my Basic Alerts. The new Alert Manager (which looks great, by the way), does not show any of my previously configured Basic Alerts, but my Advanced Alerts are there. My Basic Alerts…

after upgrading to 8.5 I noticed that all alerts basic/advanced setups were listed under the new Alert Manager. In System Manager you can click ALERTS and it will still show the BASIC ALERTS / ADVANCED ALERTS tabs.

Can you open a Support ticket? Without more detail, we can't figure out exactly what's up.

I've also noticed that the Edit Comparison Criteria where I've selected not to show the Cisco Self Signed Certs doesn't seem to be working either - they still show up in the comparison reports. I've attached the report plus the criteria with I added "self-signed 01" and still doesn't work.

biggest thing I would suggest here is upgrade to 16Gb ram at least. Between Windows and SQL 4GB will be tight.

Byron, That number does not currently take into account anything other than Nodes, Interfaces, and Volumes, basically, everything the standard poller used to take into account. We hear you about getting data for other modules rolled into that number. We've already found it helpful to us(and users!) having that data, and…

We have Cirrus and Orion running on the same box and we have not had any problems with either one.

Run a sniffer on the NTA server to see if the flows from the other devices are making it to the server. If not, make sure no ACL/Firewall on your 2951 is blocking it. If not blocking, sh ip cache flow on on one of the devices NTA is not receiving from. Does the table show flows? If so, is the Dstif show as Null? If so you…

I'll take both of those as feature requests.

Hmmm..it's working now. I guess I forgot to refresh the page when I made the change. dah!
-
Nice tip, Levi! I tried doing this with Allreports.asp without any luck. It still refreshes and collapses any Report groups that are expanded. It would be nice to not refresh this page too.

Can anyone answer whether variable modifiers for Advanced Alerts work in 9.0 or will be supported in 9.1?

The approach we've suggested to the couple other folks who have run into this problem is to split up the range of IP's being scanned across multiple discoveries. Would this be possible? We've recently talked about increasing the timeout, but I was curious if folks were willing to split things up or not. What's a reason for…

If your lucky enough to have good visio diagrams of your network devices these work great as backgrounds once converted to a gif image. That is how we do it with a global network map that allows us to drill down into each site once on the site of choice it displays the visio as the background with the solarwinds node LED…

Vendors that are asking me say these counters don't shed light on flows per minute.

It's not clear what's going on here. We'd like you to open a Support ticket.
