What about thwack-light? It's easy on the eyes.

bump...can anyone explain what criteria is used to classify devices in the 'unknown' category?
-
Did you ever get a answer? I have 99.49% as 'unknown'.

If you want to add them to the MIB database, please open a Support ticket and attach the MIBs. Note that you can manage the device without adding it to the MIB database. You only need the OID. The MIB will just help pre-populate the values for the poller.

MSFT HIS supports WMI, so I think that those counters would be available in WMI. APM will let you monitor any WMI performance counter.
-
For this scenario, we recommend that you set up the Orion at the various customers' sites and then use Orion EOC to roll up the data from all of the different Orion DBs.
-
I second that. It would be nice to be alerted if SNMP collection stops functioning for whatever reason.
-
Please open a Support ticket to help you work through this.
-
You might want to review the Hot-Standby Management pack.
-
Can you create other things with AppBuilder? Are you using WMI or SNMP? Do you have the credentials?
-
I have Orion NPM and APM running in a virtual machine (ESX 3.5) and it runs fine, no problems at all. I doubt however that it is a supported configuration.
-
For monitoring in SAM, you'll want to ask your question over in .
-
You should contact customer service.

Well....without letting the cat completely out of the bag, I will say that we are actively working on a VoIP module for Orion. That module leverages Cisco 's IP SLA to to monitor phones. The key thing we will offer is the generation of synthetic VoIP calls across a WAN with real-time measures of the QoS of those calls.…

Good suggestion. I'll add it to the queue.

I did yesterday. Installed and working.

That sounds great mesverrum we need the info presented in the UDT Port Details. If we can drag it out in a report that would excellent too. The port number, whether the port is active, hostname, IP address, MAC, VLAN.

Just found this significant issue during our upgrade. This is a serious issue for us!!!
-
I'm having the same issue - so far I've had no luck in finding the solution in Solarwinds' documentation....

For those who are experiencing the same problem, the solution was creating free space for the database. after reading some other posts, i decided to check the hard drive of the server and found that it was 90% full. freed up some space, but still same problem. tried to compact the database but got an error saying: "Could…

When you upgrade, the system is updated to the latest connectors packaged in to that release, but does NOT reach out to download the latest connectors from the web. So, if you download and upgrade on day 1 they are the same, but if you download a month later they probably aren't. There's a readme inside the connector…

Posted - 04/11/2007 : 06:56:27 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Do you display your polling engine statistics on your main page? yes When was the last database update & database sync? both under a minute. everything appears normal - but no graphs!

One possibility: The virtual appliance has its NIC settings cached, so when you move it from one location to another if the MAC addresses change the eth0 interface is bound to the old MAC not the new one and won't come up. We can fix it by clearing the cached MAC (support can help). Another possibility: something's up with…

Not yet. It's something we want to do in a future version. In any given release, we can on only focus on certain things, and that hasn't gotten into the last few releases.
-
That's interesting. By which I mean: Depending on what version you were upgrading from, there might have been some service change steps post-install, but we've had tens of thousands of agent upgrades and thankfully this isn't an epidemic. It's possible if someone else was accessing/modifying the services area at the same…

Nope. Even worse if HTTPS

Talked with Support, had to upgrade the Integration Module to 5.5.2 before being able to upgrade to NPM v10.

Check out ntop (http://www.ntop.org). This is an open source deal and I think it only runs on UNIX boxes but we use it a good bit where I work. We also use ARGUS for traffic profiling.

Sorry, should I change everyday for blackouts ? I like to have that for a week. i.e..,Monday from 8 to 4.. Tuesday 8 to 4.. Is it possible?

I am looking into whether there's a way to do this that doesn't involve invoking Crystal Reports and inspecting the RPT directly. I'll follow up here when I find anything out.
