Hi masparrow, You should check this thread. Hope it helps Kind regards, Maria

Orion doesn't need to write to these canned reports so what you have done shouldn't pose an issue. The only issue that might occur would be during an upgrade/ re-install where there (might) be updated version of the reports.

Chris, we already have IPSLA installed on the primary server and has been running operations for a year. We now have 2 additional pollers. Your instruction has me a little confused. You are suggesting to install the secondary pollers first. Does this mean we have to uninstall IPSLA on the primary poller first before we…

quick bump in hopes someone with SQL experience can help point me in the right direction.

You can do this if you have UDT.

Well I raised a ticket with Solarwinds support and they say it's by design... Pretty poor design if you ask me. If it's a basic alert then you have to disable and enable it to clear it, this also clears any other devices that were triggered under the same alert. With advanced alerts you can clear it through the Alerts tab.…

What do you mean by "speed test"? Do you want response time between nodes at various sites. You can use IP SLA to do that, and you can use our IP SLA free tool to set up the operations.

No cart for conversations.

I had to run the Integration install and do a repair for some reason. Oh, well, at least it is working again.

Solarwinds ..... PLEASE, need an answer as soon as possible!!!!!

Hey Dan, For looking at stuff in a device or app-centric view, you could create a filter for the IP and see everything, or for the app based on the connector. Filters let you monitor the data in real-time in the console, so you can see it as it comes in. Something like: Any Alert.DetectionIP = <ip of ESX server> will show…

Sorry, we have no plans in that regard.

Yes, it's on the list. I would like to get it added in this calendar year, but I can't get any more specific than that.

The SCOM connector can only talk to one database, so you can use multiple Additional Pollers one one Orion DB, but you can't have mulitple full Orions will multiple databases feeding one SCOM instance.
-
Yes, with the Application Performance Monitor module.
-
You could try deleting the account from the database itself.
-
So do you mean that web node management UI? I can see that we could add an option to use brower time vs. Orion server time. Until this, could you just adjust for the time difference as you set it? Am I missing something?

I did managed to resolve this! It was my account with an old cached password that was trying to access the internet for the license manager!

3. X-Axis time changes, details pretty much useless. v8 had hour increments with little 'up spikes' to show placement. v9 goes from 3am to 6am, no 'up spikes'. Interpretting the data from the chart axis information is all but impossible in v9. Good post. I agree. Where the heck are the tick marks? This is definitely hard…

I am getting this as well. Has anyone else seen this? 10.1.1 Windows Server 2008 R2

The easiest way to do this is to re-run the Configuration wizard and change the port. This will update IIS and some internal setttings. If that doesn't work, let us know and I'll give the you manual step.

Email Templates, ahh, email templates. I put up a post on Thwack that might help - . The bottom line is the fields you see in the template are fields that you (or we) put there - and you can call them whatever you want. What you put IN them from the correlation depends on what information is important to you that…

Restarting the Solarwinds Orion Module Engine seemed to fix the problem. But I'm curious as to what might have caused the problem?

Kiwi Syslog only supports VB Script and JScript natively. Need to install Perl or Python if you want to use that. Kiwi Syslog Server Run Script task - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support Run Script options * Script file name The script file is a standard text file that contains the script commands. The file name…

1. Since I already installed the Orion syslog service, the syslog viewer will start receiving messages without any further input, is that correct? Yes. Just configure your sources to send to the Orion IP 2. I may want to configure one or more filters to restrict the incoming messages to certain types. Syslog is a chatty…

NPM and NTA must be on the same server. You can move NCM off to a separate server. You can also move the web server off to a separate box, but that requires a $500 purchase of the "additional web server". To managed 12,000 interfaces, you will need an additional NPM poller. Be sure that you have your database on a…

SolarWinds LANsurveyor does do autodiscovery. You can then take those devices that are discovered and add them to Orion manually. We will be automating this process in a future release.
-
Claus, Can you give us some more details? What exactly are you opening with Notepad? What are the steps to reproduce what you're doing. Thanks, Denny

No and yes. I don't see usage of IP SLA in APMs future. On the other hand, I do see a steady progression of synthetic tests. We already have HTTP, but adding a DNS query, a SQL query, FTP, email, etc. is where we're headed.
