Hey Kristy, didn't see an answer to this one. Since we're not an inline device ourselves, the best we can do is tell your other devices to blacklist. LEM can interface with your firewall or an IPS to block IPs, but we don't have anything to interface with mail/spam appliances/servers to block domains. We do support Sophos…

Are there any plans to expand the ability for NPM or APM to monitor non Cisco based VoIP? I would like to see something that would be able to not only monitor SIP Calls but possibly the RTP streams for trouble. It would be nice for NPM or APM to be able to place SIP calls and graph both the MOS score and that the call…

Seeing something strange with my NPM that I'm wondering if anyone can shed some light on. Basically, we have a location that almost all of the nodes are reporting above average response time...say 300ms. When I open a command prompt and ping the same devices, I see normal response times of around 75ms. I can let the…

nothing? Does support help with these type of requests or is the forum my only hope?

I upgraded to 10.4.2 and now my utilization charts look like this. I need to be able to get accurate utilization statistics. Will rolling back to 10.4.1 restore my charting functions?

Orion will automatically handle the reindexing with each rediscovery.

HolyGuacamole, There is no “count statistic as difference” field available for Tomcat and MySQL components. I'll see the “count statistic as difference” field on other template, but none on tomcat and MySQL. Please advise

Here is a quick query you can build a report from: SELECT Caption, IP_Address, ObjectSubType, AgentPort, SNMPVersion FROM Nodes WHERE ObjectSubType = 'SNMP'

Awesome! Thanks guys!

Hi cahunt, Did you find an answer to this question, or is it still outstanding? I have recently had a customer contact me regarding the same thing. The node is removed from NPM and NCM databases and all historic stats and config data has gone with it and no audit trail.

What I'd do is send to both places at least while you're coming up to speed on LEM. This will help you use a familiar interface, duplicate what you have in LEM, then cycle out of sending to both when you're comfortable you've got what you need. It might be a week, it might be a while, but it always helps when you have…

Hey There, The easiest thing to do here is deploy an agent to your Linux system, then go to Manage > Nodes, click the gear on the left side of that agent and go to "Tools". You'll want to configure tools related to the apps and services you have on that linux system. Common ones: * PAM (under Operating Systems): For…

I think the filtering is a great enhancement too but would've much preferred SolarWinds developers to have provide this filtering on the front-end when creating a new discovery rather than on the back end after the discovery has completed. This is the main reason we have never used device discovery to any extent. The way…

Answering to myself: Using SNMP traps is much easier if you change the trap template a bit like this: <SNMPTrap> <Application Name="SolarWinds SNMP Trap Engine" Version="1.0.28" Copyright="Copyright 1995-2003 SolarWinds.Net All rigths reserved." ReleaseDate="October 2003" TimeStamp="16-Sep-04 01:06 PM"></Application> <Trap…

I noticed you can buy old Orion 7.x oem software for a couple of hundread bucks. if this come with a 1 year maintenance license, will solarwinds support it? Could you tell us where you saw that?

Waiting for the bugs to get worked out is always the smart move. Unfortunately with regard to upgrades we have had very few issues. There have been bugs but they are usually isolated and you work them out. This upgrade has the web interface down until further notice. Since i was the bright guy that went ahead and pulled…

I believe the only way you can do this is via a Custom Volume Property (integer) and a new alert defined to use it. Essentially you'd check if the property is empty (and therefore set default values in the trigger) otherwise set the condition to compare the custom property to the volume usage for those that you've…

Good post! I have the same concern. It doesn't look good.

I don't have the problem either.

I've got something similar...there are a couple of rogue volumes and interfaces that I can't seem to get rid of. For whatever reason, they are tied to a different NodeID than what they are showing up under...I think it's the old NodeID from before the server was rebuilt. Then when it was re-added, they showed up...but are…

I couldn't find a way to get it to happen via a Field Formatting option(there are all kinds of options for specific formats, but nothing I could find to handle adding or subtracting hours). However, in your SQL query, there appears to be a way that will work: If you old query was: Select LastBoot from Nodes; Your new…

Great suggestion. I've captured it in our system.

You create custom poller files in Orion. It can't be done in Toolset.

It looks like I had a version issue, if not also related to a .NET 4.6 upgrade that was put in (probably last month). I had a ticket open with support for a different issue in the console, which was where they identified that the .NET 4.6 upgrade had been installed. While he was troubleshooting and resolving that, he also…

Can anyone please help me?

Have fun. I just did 267 switches by listing resources like that. It get's real fun if you are using link aggregation.

I'm not ruling it out completely, but support for Oracle DB is not on the roadmap at this time.

That sounds more like Alert Central than LEM, to be honest, but it depends on what you're trying to do. If you want to send log data to a single system and alert on it from one place rather than letting all different logging systems alert you, LEM can help with that. But if you want to let all those systems send you alerts…

I did a fresh install of everything (SolarWinds wise), and it seems to all be working again. We will see if monitoring fails. Thanks for your help and suggestions. If this works, the resolution appears to be a combination of Windows 2003 SP2 and reinstalling Solarwinds. Hopefully it will run until I get the actual server…

OK, The first problem appears to be resolved, but another problem cropped up in the process. I can no longer open Orion Systme Manger, Orion NFM or the configuration wizard. I was thinking that perhaps if I ran through the configuration wizzard one more time, it would help with the netflow and System manager opening, but…
