I had that issue. found out it was user error. Network Atlas uses the same login as your orion website. I was able to login after i had that first cup of coffee.

Almost - CustomBandwidth is a boolean value to let it know its custom, its the InBandwidth and OutBandwidth too which all need to be set. Something like this: UPDATE Interfaces SET CustomBandwidth = 1, InBandwidth = 1000000000, OutBandwidth = 1000000000 WHERE InterfaceSpeed = 100000 You can confirm the changes by looking…

Hey thoddiver, Your comment was accidentally moderated, so I'm posting back to this thread your initial resolution recommendation: Got an answer from the support desk, here's my ticket number: 416554. Solution was this: Sometimes the jobs get stuck in the SQL DB. Step 1: Log into the server NCM is installed Step 2: open…

I've been trying to work through the licensing for a customer and up pops NAM, I wish Solarwinds wouldn't confuse us with this type of bundled licensing. I'm used to specifying the products I need and now i'm having to examine my bundle thoroughly for licensing holes.

You shouldn't create Windows users accounts on the Orion server. Use regular Orion accounts. Without a domain, you'll need to create a Windows account on the EOC box. For each user on each Orion, you'll need to specify the Orion account. I suggest you read this section of the EOC Admin Guide to explain in more…

Use the SNMP real-time Graph, have it publish the graph to a webserver and then write you own web page with those graphs included. Make sure you put a Meta Refresh in the header of the page you write so the page will reload every X seconds. Of course the machine running the multiple copies of SNMP Real-Time Graph will need…

What type(make/model) of switch is it you are trying to get netflow info from? I have heard that you can not get netfrlow from certain Cisco Switches (i.e. 3750 or 3560 - which happens to be what I run in my entire network!) Brian

Param, in 9.5 we moved editing of a lot of properties for elements from System Manager to the website. There isn't anything wrong with your install. If you haven't tried out web node management before, it has quite a few features that make it easier to use than System Manager(the ability to edit properties for multiple…

Does anyone else use this and have they found it beneficial and easy to setup and use? Installation is basically same as standard Orion. Just need to keep redundant website in sync in order to mirror production/primary website. You do this by mirroring any IIS settings and running the Orion WebConfigurationBackup…

Can it be installed on a remote site across the WAN? Just like any other poller, some people do this, but we recommend against it because it doesn't perform to our expectations. Does it support both the core NPM and also remote pollers? It's a one-to-many relationship, so it can fill in for any of several pollers. What is…

Eric, A few possibilities come to mind. Does this happen on all systems that try to access the LEM console/appliance once it starts, or is it only your computer? Does this happen to all users that try to access the LEM console/appliance once it starts, or is it only your user? For those, you might try another user (other…

Look on your server that has Solarwinds installed on it for the Solarwinds Orion folder in the start menu. In there, you will see a folder: Alerting, Reporting, and Mapping. In that folder, there is a program called Report Writer. It has built-in reports for some of the functions that you mentioned. You can tweek some of…

For getting data with the UnDP, the MIB doesn't actually have to be in the Orion MIB database. You only need to provide the OID in the proper field and Orion will be able to get the data.

I'd advise a to load it to 45/55 and then review. Check the Polls Per Second Monitoring tool: don't have these set too high. Slightly higher than recommended settings here is fine. Setting these settings too high will cause problems with polling. On the SQL side, have you seen the documentation on this. * Please also see…

Hmmmm.....happened to see another thread with a similar kind of issue (missing link to Manage Nodes) and one of the suggestions was to try creating a new account with the needed permissions. Did that, and now, upon logging in with the new account, I have the "Customize Views" link, which appears to get me to the right…

I havent seen this exact issue with system manager not displaying the nodes, but I have seen it where the nodes refuse to delete when doing it from the web interface. So far from the users I have here attempting it; it appears that it wont delete the nodes from the web interface if your using IE7. This does still work from…

Does your Orion server have a connection to the internet? If not, that is probably the source of your problem. The services need to contact thawte.com to verify the certificate that the services were signed with. If you can't access the internet from your Orion service, you can add thawte.com to your hosts file and…

Having .Net 1.1 and .Net 2.0 will not cause a problem. Does your Orion server have a connection to the internet? Do your other services start? --e.g., Syslog, Trap Do you see anything in the Application Event Log or the SolarWinds event log regarding the service crashing? Denny LeCompte Sr. Product Manager, Orion SolarWinds

Do you really want it based on map status? Or are you just asking for a container that can contain mulitple applications, with alerts, reports, etc. based on the status of that container.

OK, silly point regarding the custom view links, since it is preferable anyway to define the link with relative path (e.g. /Orion/SummaryView.aspx?viewid=XX) However, having a variable for the FQDN would still be useful, specially if server host other app you want to link to... So, any predefined variable, or way to create…

quote:Originally posted by hvits Just looked at the alerting engine and it is not running, nor will it start. Any ideas?? Thanks Do you have .Net Framework 2.0 installed? That version of the framework is required for the service to run, and a number of users have had problems because they still have version 1.1. Denny…

Mav, from reading thwack it appears that quite a few users have the infoblox dhcp solution and would like to pull the information into ipam; myself being one of them. Would it be prudent to inquire about the possibility of adding support for additional DHCP engines (infoblox, dhcpd) to the list of supported dhcp daemons in…

Can you open a Support ticket so we can try to replicate and fix?

You're correct. We made a mistake in the web page saying 2000 was out of the box. Sorry about that. We'll get the page updated.
