HI amarthaler, Here's a KB on authentication features of Dameware: Security and Encryption in DameWare Mini Remote Control Hope you will find something useful there.

I'd really like a conterminous service agreement I'm with you Don! I would like to see one consolidated annual bill for all the SW products we have. We have only one account but have every Orion component except NTA and more than a dozen Toolsets purchased over the years at various times, expiring every other month or so.…

The process of adding a node currently depends on being able to ping it and possibly reach it via SNMP. A SQL insert isn't something we recommend.
-
Thanks for the help, I have made changes I just have to wait and see it helps. I also look at network and there is no congestion. SQL server was getting timed out during backup and Antivirus scanning.

Also, NPM can do all of it's polling without needing specific MIBs. Interface polling, CPU and Memory, and device descriptions are all handled without specific MIB's being specified. Where MIBs do come in handy is in the UnDP(Universal Device Poller). When the MIB's are provided, you can easily search for items, and all…

Ok, is it really just one client/user or is it all of your users? None of your clients see this?
-
This is something that my company is very interested in utilizing. Can't wait to hear when it is available in an upcoming release.

Everyone--our SW admin applied 8.0.2 (we were at 8.0.1), which appears to have fixed the data collection and gauge issues.

Hi Rick, We also found this however the issue was not solarwinds persay. This is a windows server issue, under the advanced tab of the IPV4 setup of the windows server disable the option to use netbios we found this resolved the issue and we no longer saw packets being blocked by our FW. Hope this helps

After doing some digging and not really getting anywhere, I randomly tried turning off our McAfee Antivirus, and magically the install worked fine. Does anyone have any experience setting up exclusions for these installs. I did push out Java Update 51, and adobe reader 11.06 with no issue, now that I'm trying these updates…
-
I just pushed Adobe Reader as well and it's failing with the same error code in PatchManagement...

Yeah but if your drawing skills / handwriting skills are rubbish they can also be an engineers worst nightmare...

They just aren't in the MIB database that's currently available. You can get them added to our MIB database by sending them to support. However, if you already know the OID that you need to poll, you don't need to find it in the tree. Just put it in the text field on the first page of the wizard and we'll be able to poll…

You can create a chart. www.solarwinds.com/.../wwhelp.htm

You don't remove a device. You can navigate to a device in the tree in the ALL NODES pane (upper left). Go to the target device and drill down until you see a folder called "Pollers". Right-click on the target poller and select Unassign. Or, right-click on the target poller under ALL DEFINED POLLERS and select Assign.…

Hey All, This looks like the Snort IDS which is running on the appliances by default. You can disable any rules that might be triggering false positives, or tweak them if you want to adjust their settings. This KB article includes links to other false positives and where to disable/modify them, and includes how to download…

Sure, you can send emails or take other actions via the advanced alert engine. You can learn more in the Admin Guide. www.solarwinds.com/.../APMAdministratorGuide.pdf You can also view this tutorial: www.solarwinds.com/.../OrionAdvancedAlerts.html

Has or will Solarwinds incorporate any type of advance scheduling with future releases of Orion? Yes. You should be able to use Windows Task Scheduler to unmanage and remanage nodes in the next release. can't add MIBs manually, Not sure what you're looking for here. You can use the custom MIB poller as long as you have the…
-
Please open a support ticket with these MIBs. That's our process for adding new MIBs. I can't enter them from this post.

NodeID and InterfaceID in CustomPollerAssignments maps to NodeID from Nodes and InterfaceID from Interfaces respectively. Is it possible you have some orphaned Assignments(nodes have been deleted but the assignment is still around)?

Has anyone ever gotten this to work since this thread started? We are running Version 7.3.2 and I cannot get this to work either. I have also tried all of the options listed above to no avail. Thanks, Joe

One other option as far as the size limit of MSDE. I installed SQL 2005 Express on our Orion server, and it seems to be running very well. This is basically the new version of MSDE, although it has a 4gb database limit instead of a 2gb.

hi mate i would go to mnage nodes, then switch to interface view using the pull-down at the top, and then u can select al and delete... if it is a subst of nodes, make sure u have a custom property set against those nodes so u can select the right ones on the left int he catagory panel be sure u have the right ones…

If you're using the web console, console errors are fed back to the appliance and stored in the appliance's logs. Are you using 5.5 or 5.6 (either of you)?
-
Kinda got an answer to this, sent a question over to my account manager to ask the same and got a response via him from an engineer "That could very well be possible! The SDK including the documentation is available here: https://thwack.solarwinds.com/community/labs_tht/orion-sdk" I hope that in a couple of weeks I'll have…

Through our inventory software (Lan Desk), or any legit inv software I would imagine, we export the MAC address data into CSV/Excel file then just dump that into the watch list as needed, currently we manage around 2000 MACs this way. I've had to restore this list a number of times from nothing and its only taken seconds…

You may want to verify you are running the right license on your ISR G2. Check the datasheet for the ISR G2 to understand the licensing options you have here. This will help you understand which features are supported by which software licenses. If you don't have the Data license installed, IP SLA will not be available to…

We made some changes to CPU and memory polling for certain classes of Cisco devices. Specifically, what kinds of devices are you seeing the problems on?
