this might provide a little help: per cisco "The MIBs in software version 8.20 have been modified to be consistent with other Cisco products within the Cisco private enterprise branch of the MIB tree." CPU and Memory Use showed up in orion after I loaded this version on my CSS's, but there doesn't seem to be any data. It…

Anyone?

Unfortunetly the group rollup feature is just a visual thing and doesn't impact the availabilty metric...

Which version of Orion are you using? 8.0.2? 8.1?

Can anyone tell me the benefits of monitoring a loopback interface? Is it actually putting data on my network?
-
Are you still experiencing this problem? Any word from SolarWinds on this? I just upgraded from 10.3.1 to 10.5 yesterday and now I'm seeing this problem with UnDP pollers just stopping. We have 3 polling engines and UnDP seems to be working well on the primary but is real bad on our additional two polling engines. In…

We plan to upgrade graphing functionality in a future release.

This is a bug, and we've slated the fix for SP1, which should be available fairly soon. You should open a ticket with Support and reference this post so that we'll be sure to check that our fix works in your environment.

monitor the tunnel endpoints from the routers at the B and C if this is the same routers that the connection to A is from then all you need to do is add an interface on two devices and you have the full ring monitored.

please tell me you have 10 million elements on your Orion, cause that would rock and you should get a prize for the craziest Orion install in history LOL

In addition to curtis's notes, the Tomcat version is sometimes not enough to go off of. Patches can be backported, and the version may appear to be out of date when in fact it's just a patched older version. I believe we have another case in to change our error page due to information leakage, you might want to report this…

Got this resolved. If anybody is having issues with this disable 'VMware Polling' on your vCenter box > Submit the change > edit it again and enable polling. After doing this all my ESXi boxes started pulling in by name.

Nevermind. They are hard coded ranges and I found the file to change.

That error message is incorrect. We'll get that fixed. It should work on XP and Vista. We don't support Windows 7 yet because it's not GA.

Jumped on to check status, anyone have anything on this?
-
NocNoc, we've seen this a few times and it's usually a case of an Orion application still running(System Manager is usually the one people have up). If users are connecting remotely to the box via RDP, then it's possible an Orion application could be running in a different session, so you'd never see it. Take a look in…

This is a problem with an NCM resource? Do you have the latest NCM service packs?
-
It's not clear what the problem is. Could you post a screenshot of what you're seeing.
-
This is a known problem - you probably need to update. (please confirm what version you are running) If you are running the latest you need to open a ticket - I had the problem and the update took care of it. You can manually start the service from the Windows mmc in the meantime (not from Solarwind service manager - the…

Orion NTA has a large number of well-known ports that it automatically labels. You can easily monitor all ports, however, even those that are not well-known. Moreover, any port can be given an application name of your choosing.

Hi thedeacon76, First of all welcome to thwack! I think a good place to start is the Library & Support page. You'll find here lots of resources about all Solarwinds products. You might also try SolarWinds Lab if you want to boost your knowledge.

You will need to enable session tracing and then open up the logs on the poller server. This will tell you what is happening exactly. From that error it sounds like it's sending an enable password which is either incorrect or not needed. It's also sending it as level 0, set it to 15 or remove it.

You can create multiple alerts. You could also create a few alerts, mail them all to the same mailbox, and then use Exchange rules to forward to different people.

Ok so I downloaded and installed NetFlow 3.1 (no problems encountered) and now my main page which previously showed Top 5 Conversations now shows "Failure retreiving data - refresh your browser". I have refreshed the browser - same thing. I verified that the Top 5 Conversations show up in the NetFlow Analysis. I removed…

Hialexzhang, Could you also tell us the ticket number?

This has been one of my goals to try to figure out. We had our WhatsUp Gold page do this where it scrolled (right-left)down devices down across the top no matter what view you were in. A very, very nice feature to have. We also had a section that would scroll (right-left) that could scroll notes (known outages, comments)…

I found the problem, not sure why but this install of NPM seems to be using an engine ID of 6 instead of 1. Everything came good once that was changed.
-
It would still be great, for the record...

Is this Windows or Linux server you are monitoring? At least in Linux the memory utilization can be much higher since kernel likes to use the memory for its own caching and there are few other things as well which reserves memory for thein own use.
