I'm in the same boat. I am tasked with getting all Juniper J6350 hardware, cards, flash, etc, but I can't find any support on it within the out of the box content. Does anyone have any luck with reports and the Juniper series routers? I searched in content exchange and came up empty. Subscribed!

Miron, In v2.5, which ships soon, we are introducing the concept of "tags" for templates. Tags are just simple text labels that can be associated with one or more templates. The new UI will allow you to organize by tags. If you'd like to see it, please sign up for the Beta .

This is something we may consider for the future, but it's not possible now.

Disable multicast polling and the MSMQ problem should go away. You may also have to clean out (orphaned .mq files) the MSMQ (C:\Windows\system32\msmq\storage). Multicast is not ready for prime time!!! A buddy-drop is being developed for us for 10.6.1 to try. Supposedly, it is fixed in 10.7 but that's to be seen.

Not until we get closer. The two main features that are coming are a new and greatly improved tool for monitoring custom MIBs (includes tables, calculated values) and web-based node management.
-
Have dealt with this using native HPUX snmp client and custom pollers.
-
As a workaround, you might try building a filter, which is real-time, since I've seen a couple of threads now that don't quite match what you'd expect with nDepth. I'm going to try a couple of things and report back... I'm with you that this seems fishy.

Hi The archive is for you to store offline if you wanted. I use it for many things, like searching all configs for a certain field or many fields using PERL CGI. Also you may want to store more than 10 copies offline as the last place I worked at wanted over a years worth of config archives. James

Could you explain the problem you're trying to solve? The more we understand about your problem and the full usage scenario, the easier it is to prioritize the request.
-
You can manually do this already. From the menu select Configs, Purge Old Configs, then select 'Select Purge Method' tab from the window. From there you can either purge all configs downloaded before a certain date, or purge all except the last X number.

I'm using SNMPv3 on 8610s and 4500 series and monitoring successfully with NPM 10.3. Maybe I could help? Are you still having problems? I got a 5500 laying around that I could attempt to get working and write down everything I do.

I've captured the feature request, so there's no need to move it.

What version flow records are you exporting from your devices? As far as I know NTA only supports version 5 records. Thanks, Olan

Thanks everyone for the very detailed and helpful answers. I think I have a handle on it now. -Rob-

There isn't any sort of intentional limitation based on the subnet. A few things: * Try a DNS/hosts entry forward-reverse for the LEM appliance's IP address and use it (default hostname is swi-lem) * Does it work with the Desktop Console (i.e. only affects the web console)? (Available from SolarWinds Knowledge Base ::…

I found the answer to my question. I used Report Writer on our Solarwinds Server, and used the build in report "Average and Peak Traffic Rates", and tweeked it for the server interface that I want. My problem now is that when I preview the report in report writer, it looks fine. I made a report for Daily Avg and peak…

Yes. My company uses this functionality to monitor Internet latency and for connectivity for devices behind firewalls that block SNMP.

We put data into buckets for graphs. The more granular your graph, the smaller the bucket.
-
graphical version of this is the availability charts but if you are looking for a tabular output then you could run a UDP for system uptime and break it out in your own view. with the above you already have most of the code you will need to get it working.
-
The most common case I see this with is using/not using the FQDN in the directory services setup. But, can you paste the full error from the InternalInfo event? The exception might have more details about why.

It's not clear which ID you're looking for. The Windows process ID? Or something SQL specific. APM can execute SQL queries, so if SQL has that info available, you can use the SQL Server Query Monitor to pull it. And then report on it.
-
APM 2.0, thresholds are triggered if the value of the statistics is greater than the threshold. We'll make that configurable in 2.5.
-
I did... my original post for it was in the Orion v9 Beta forum. For some reason, when the advanced alert sends a trap does not send the same information as the basic one. I've attached mine, just make sure you get the Alert Message correct and rename your current to .old to make sure it does what want it to.
-
APM is not an upgrade to AM. It's a new product, so you can actually run APM and AM together. When you're ready to remove AM, you can go to Add/Remove programs and uninstall it from there.
-
APM monitoring makes use of WMI and requires use of RPC. WMI communications will dynamically assign a port to use after talking over port 445. There is a Microsoft article that explains how to configure it to use a static port, when going through firewalls: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb219447(VS.85).aspx…

Just setting up my ServiceNow Integration, and guess what SAME ERROR. Will wait to hopefully hear back from you all. Weird when it says online and shows active, but then pops this error. Hopefully we hear something soon.

We don't now but would like to in the future. I am anxious to see what the responses are.....

XP is not officially supported. I know there's a message that pops up when you try to install on Win2k that mentions XP and Win2k3. That's a mistake. System requirements are spelled out in a couple of places: www.solarwinds.com/.../sysreq.aspx www.solarwinds.net/.../wwhelp.htm Now, that said, Orion will generally work on…
-
So you guys will support XP as a platform for Orion until the "Mainstream Support" runs out in Apr 2009?

There are no limitations to the number of alerts. If you were disconnected, there was either a problem with a connection to the appliance from the console, or something happened at either end (appliance or workstation). It is possible if your workstation is underpowered to get overwhelmed by the LEM console, but there's no…
