You can have two objects with the same IP address.

Do you need the multi-line events combined into a single event, or just the single line events? (This adds complexity to our connector development since we have to roll up the lines.)
-
mmm ok, I just did a search on this forum and it seems this is being added into version 8. Thats a bit dissapointing. I would have though custom MIB's would have been put in to orion in like version 2 or 3.

what processes do you want to monitor? if you just want logging and events, then LEM or the new module for solarwinds may be your best option. You could always create your own application template.

Thanks for the response. Our infrastructure is as such: 8 Windows Hyper V Hosts in cluster Common Storage from Netapp ie Vol 1 - 9 Presented as a LUN to Hyper-V hosts. We have Virtualization manager as well and want to tie in the capacity planning for storage from STM. Our San Admin does monitor it himself but isn't very…

Interesting suggestion. I've added it to the queue. Thanks.

Got it! Thank you sir!

This is the kind of question best answered by NetFlow. NetFlow looks at what's consuming bandwidth. Within the Orion product like, NetFlow Traffic Analyzer would provide that data.

The node is WMI managed. We don't use snmp. Even though I set the perf monitor process to 0 wait, I still get a blank email. Is there anything else I can look at? As I'm looking for a return on something, here's what I'm using. Execute program action C:\Program Files…

Update - since nothing from Thwack I decided to open a ticket with support. I will see how long it takes for them to respond.

The 'ASP.NET Script Maps' is something I'd need to take a look at a log file for. But, the problem with AD authentication we found and have a fix we're working on for SP1. The workaround you described is how to deal with it. You will need to do this anytime you reconfigure the website until the SP comes out(we're actively…

Try this in a filter first: Any Alert.DetectionIP = <domain controllers group> and Any Alert.EventInfo = *error* and Any Alert.ProviderSID = *netlogon* That last one might be EventInfo = *netlogon* not ProviderSID, but I'm not sure. If you had a sample event even from event viewer (scrubbed of incriminating details ), I…

It's been updated since beta, so you should re-download.

They only work with Advanced Alerts. On the Trigger page, you can set the alert type to "Custom Poller". From there, you should be able to create an alert. If you want to see them on the web console, you need to add the Custom Poller resource to one of your views and then select one of your custom pollers after clicking…

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you can send an SNMP Trap or a Syslog to Remedy to open a ticket, and you can do that from Orion's alert engine.
-
So my thought after digesting all this would be to create a local script on the SolarWinds server that would execute check_nrpe with the appropriate data for the check. I'm just not sure if that would have the performance data for graphing, though.
-
You could also try running the standard asset reports in Solarwinds and see if you can match up the servers.
-
Also, I just noticed, that it's not passing the authentication through. If I close the browser and re-open it, it asks for creditentials. Once I enter them I can log out, reload the page and it passes through just fine.

Orion can't receive email.
-
Try to give it a dummy password initially then go back and clear it out (clear it and click change) and save.
-
Not sure I understand the question. EOC doesn't have reports. What are you trying to accomplish?
-
You need to add commands to your router to export the Netflow information to the collector. We use Cisco and I had to add the following to mine... ip flow-export source Loopback0 ip flow-export version 5 ip flow-export destination 172.16.4.2 2058 interface Serial0/1/0 bandwidth 256 no ip address encapsulation frame-relay…

You can get down to the last octet in the subnet mask, but you can't do wildcards within that. If you know what your target IP addresses are, you can certainly use Host Seed File to just get those.

Every time a component or application changes its state, we add an event. The first entry is a component monitor. The second is the application. This behavior is expected because a component change will lead a change in the application that includes it.

You can apply them to a group, but if a new device is added to the group it won't be automatically applied. Is that what you're looking for?
-
These are good suggestions. We'll be considering these for the future.

This should work. Please open a Support ticket.

Unfortunately no. There is no way to filter out rows of a table using Transform Results. On a chart, you have the ability to remove rows that are being displayed if you click "Edit" on the chart page. We don't have similar functionality for tables, but we're working on it.

Hey Mike, Which SolarWinds tool are you using? SAM? Virtualization Manager? I want to redirect this to the right place.

How are you testing it?
