ok I figured my question on how to setup the alert for the APC UPS using solarwinds 11.5. After creating the custom poller go to setting and manage alerts and for the alert that you want to alert on select custom node poller, for the scope select only the following set of object, then select node > vender > is equal to >…

FYI. Plixer has no relationship with SolarWinds. Their "integration" isn't something we support. It may or may not work with 8.1 or the upcoming 8.5 or any future version. We certainly won't go to any effort to break it, but because this is something they're doing on their own, there's no way we can keep it from breaking…

Ultimately we rebuilt the adfs proxy server settings and now it works.

are these servers possibly cluster nodes of the same cluster?

Hmm.... excellent puzzle. The UDGs are stored on the appliance in human-readable (well, parseable, it's XML) format, but all data is transmitted to the appliance in binary machine object form. What gets exported is this "native" format that the console uses to render directly into a UDG. This sucks, because you can't…

I don't think installing on the same server is the root of your authentication problem, but that's probably not going to give you optimal performance on either application. Could you post screenshots of where you're seeing the error?
-
When are you going to update the demo server on your website? Your still running 7.8.139!
-
Have not had a chance to upgrade to 8.1 as of yet- we're going to build a x64 server for this now that it is supported. One question- now that Orion supports 8.1, has the Event Forwarder been updated as well? I looked through our customer portal, but it appears to be the same Orion Event Forwarder. Is there any chance of…

When the configuration wizard runs, it runs the Custom Property Editor with a special command line that does the same thing as the update report schema toolbar button. As you all have seen, there are some cases where it doesn't work as expected. We've tried many times to reproduce, with no luck. However, with 9.1 SP2,…

Last week this custom table SQL report displayed error when we tried to view it and this week it does not. So, it appears we have discovered yet another transient error with unknown root cause. Hope you have better user experience. Cheers!

Hi BakerD, Could you please tell me the name of the report and any other potentially useful info about the document? I will try to find out if there is any way to restore it and then will let you know. Kind regards, Maria

Do you mean you want to be able to select multiple ports to be monitored or for alerting?
-
The big use case for the infer alert action is to escalate normal activity to abnormal activity without generating email alerts and other actions. For example, the OOTB rules try to identify things like "excessive logon failures" and infer suspicious activity. You could then focus on suspicious activity, rather than…

There are no hotfixes for SP3. Any further bug fixes are limited to customers who are current on maintenance.
-
Can you post a sreenshot of what you're seeing? You should be seeing all colors.

I have found a fix! To fix, please stop all Orion services. Then please change this file: - c:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\APM\SolarWinds.APM.Probes.dll.config - - Find the <WmiSettings> section and change the ConnectOptions from "BothAutoCorrectedFirst" to "Default". Then run the Permissions Checker - Navigate to…

Hi noriryani, Have a look at this thread. Though they are discussing about earlier versions of SAM, the information shared there might be useful in your case as well. Hope this helps.

We're definitely adding ipv6 support to Orion. It'll probably be next year before we have full ipv6 support, however.
-
We don't have any group type or field that's very subnet-aware (unfortunately) but you could build a User-Defined Group that contained each IP in the subnet and have the filter/rules use that as an exclude.

Are you running your completed report from within the LEM Reports Console or from Crystal directly? I'd always recommend testing with the reports console, there's no guarantee running from Crystal will be as reliable.
-
Do you actually have an eval that has expired? If so, there are two options: 1. Buy the expired product. Once you install the license you receive after purchasing the product, it should go away. 2. Uninstall the expired product. Personally, I vote for #1. :)

We don't do that, but I like that idea a lot. I've entered it into my feature request database.
-
This is true. What about using the SQL User Experience Monitor to test the availability of the cluster?
-
We have been batted around the idea of creating a license server that would hold a number of elements (e.g., 10,000). Customer would no longer pay by poller. You could poll your licensed number using as many pollers as you want. If you want more, you buy a pack of additional elements. To reiterate, it's an idea that's been…

how do i create the template?quote:Originally posted by pjb I have a bunch of Fortigate firewalls, and have created templates for them if anyone has the same. Depending on the model you have, change the SystemOID. 100 = 1.3.6.1.4.1.12356.100 1000a = 1.3.6.1.4.1.12356.10001 3000 = 1.3.6.1.4.1.12356.30000 <!--SolarWinds…

read some of the other posts here sounds like all devices are having this type of issue from W2K servers to cisco devices. no real answer has been given as to the cause or cure for this issue.

Found more information: the type of field is "OCTET-STRING". Loading up the MIB in MIB Smithy reveals the following: "Each octet within this value specifies a set of 8 ports, with the first octet signifying ports 1 through 8 , the second octet signifying ports 9 through 16, etc. Within each octet, the most significant bit…

NCM logs into ours just fine but we use SSH for the login process on the ASA. COuld swear we did it with Telnet before changing to SSH, but I could be mistaken.

VoIP Monitor leverages Cisco's IP SLA technology, and you can also use it to monitor video.
