I've noted the feature requests. We'll see what we can do.

kjette I use Outlook for recurring events. However, in WHD you can create a new group called "maintenance", create a request type called "Maintenance" and create a custom date field for your scheduled date. Then, you could view all of these in chronological order by viewing the Maintenance group calendar. Obviously this is…

I believe there are a number of ways to do what you want. I would approach as follows: 1. Using Custom Property Editor create two custom fields, one entitled 'regional_group' (or whatever makes sense to you and your team), the other 'regional_alert_group'. 2. For each node enter your regional code (we aren't specific to…

dfairles, yes we are using this - a lot, on multiple servers. Is it working? Depends. What version of APM are you using? I know it was unrelaible on version earlier thant 4.0. Usuually when we see that error it is a corrupt profile (used for the email) on the Orion server and has to be cleared. Now, how relaible is it...…

Can you post a screenshot of the alert trigger?
-
We can't do this today, but we expect to be able to do it once Orion gets remote pollers, but that's probably a year away or so. But you can use Cisco's IP SLA technology to do exactly this? Are you familiar with IP SLA?

Hi, I've got the Ugly Betty of a solution to show what I need. Here's how I did it. 1) I created a small script on the target server (decided to keep things generic and go for /etc/snmp/snmp-plugins/ so I can have all of these scripts in the same place. 2) I run the script from SNMP by adding the following to snmpd.conf;…

Hey ttl, I've been on vacation for a bit, so the forum has gone a little unsupervised. I'm hoping to catch up soon. I've replied to a couple of @ replies to me to keep things moving, but will be clicking through everything. Sometimes posts need a second opinion which takes a little longer to get, but I'll try to reply that…

Did you ever get these setup? If not I may be able to help. We are using Orion to monitor our Alvarion equipment. Ron

That list is of applications that can be monitored with APM, not of specific monitors, so there's no detail on that.

James, We are doing something similar but we use NPM UnDP to collect the serial number from the Cisco devices. I have a SQL job running at midnight to read the serial numbers, models and mfg and push that to the CP's in the Nodes table. See if this makes sense..... (sorry the SQL is not better documented) UPDATE dbo.nodes…

Hi, ok so the forum works pretty well thx for the fast reply. And it took 4 minutes from my forum entry to an email from the maintenance department! I like the power of public communitys ;-) A btw. the first mail we sent was to maintenance@solarwinds.com and we got a 2 quotes, one from the U.S. and one from Europe (25%…

I don't think the Kiwi version matters and we should be able to pull in the data. You are most likely just missing a (non-obvious) configuration step. We pre-configured the Windows integrations, but we're not doing any discovery of the syslog data to pre-configure anything, you'll need to do that manually. The second step…

I cheated and did it this way... So any disks that contain Page or PF in the Volume name simply don't get reported on. I also added a bit more to the standard 100 disks report. So now you have available space as well. This is more useful than just a percent disk used.

The console links have been moved to the future 5.7.0 version, but they aren't live yet. You should be able to download all of the installers from the portal, or the equivalent link is: http://downloads.solarwinds.com/solarwinds/Release/PreRelease13/RC/LEM570RC1/SolarWinds-LEM-v5.7.0-WindowsAgentInstaller

good suggestion. I've recorded your request

Rob, Bummer and disappointed! We can't use the automatic geolocation on worldwide maps feature since it is driven off the device SNMP Location field. This feature is unusable for us because we do not populate each and every device with the usable location info to generate long/lat coordinates. We've defined a custom…

You need to direct the stream of syslog messages to Orion's IP address. Orion receives syslog; it doesn't gather them via a poll.
-
Good point. We'll consider this for the future.

Andrew, we're using LEM for log file analysis to comply with these components of the Security Rule: * Information system activity review (Required). Implement procedures to regularly review records of information system activity, such as audit logs, access reports, and security incident tracking reports.…

Hey Vinaya, you might want to post or look over in the Log & Event Feature Requests forum. I didn't find one, but we've heard this request before, so I'd definitely post it if you don't see something like it there.

We have a bunch of hospital, clinic, and otherwise HIPAA-beholden customers. Hopefully some will come visit and chime in. I can speak of the broader experience of LEM in these environments, but sometimes there's nothing like the first hand story in the "tales from the trenches" style. This is the only LEM virtual or…

Hi, first you must know which syslog facility you are using to send the syslog events over to LEM. Ensure that this facility is not used by other applications sending syslog events to LEM to ensure no overlapping of logs found. Then under appliance > connector. Create a connector meant for AudioCodes Mediant 1000. Under…

i had the same issue and this was my fix on devices that have ios then switch comes with the ">" carrot sign. eg switch> our catos prompt was set to "switch" placed the command "set prompt switch>" that little carrot got me going

I wouldn't worry too much about this, i've seen this a few times. It only really causes a problem if applications are wildly out of sync, (version wise). Simply inspect a node added to both pollers and you should be able to see if anything is missing.

Upgrade to 10.2.1 is complete. My main issue was not realizing there was a 10.2.1 for the primary poller. I initially installed 10.2 on the primary and attempted a 10.2.1 on the additional poller, not supported path. Upgrade primary to 10.2.1 and all went well. Licensing issues too, but they were easily fixed. Thanks,…

Hi, Sorted. Even though the trigger settings never matched up it was the High Percent Transmit alert that was causing the alerts. Jase

Not sure if anyone has had this issue or not. Still trying to get it working. Support, so far, has replaced the Serv-U.archive and created a new global administrator by sending me files to dump in the /opt/Serv-U/Users/Global Users/ folder. But we still cannot make any changes in the web interface.

Was there any solution to this, I too am having the same problem... Thanks Ted
