You can assign a menubar to a user, but not a view.

My recommendation would be to create on Orion account for the NOC. In that account, there's an option to set the web to never timeout, which is what you probably want for the NOC. Your 6 helpdesk folks can then either share an account (and log in simultaneously) or you can create separate accounts for each.

I know there are some out there, but I don't know where they are... In general, Tripwire took a more log-centric approach, whereas LEM took a more SIEM-centric approach. I don't want to get too far in the weeds because we're obviously biased in this regard... Tripwire does have great file integrity and change monitoring,…

Is this possible to be scheduled in the latest release? Yes I can unmanage a node every day for 12:00 to 12:30 for a scheduled reboot. No. You can't schedule recurrence. Was the feature added/will the feature be added to escalate the alert based on other variables besides time? This is not in 8.5. It's not something I've…

One suggestion: Check that your NetFlow Summary is not accidentally set to Network Summary.

Very interesting. That's a big gap. There is some reserved space (5% of disk I think, to the OS) so the numbers don't always match up exactly, but 40% off is way off. Does it differ depending on what time of day you run it by chance? A debug should have in it information about partition rotation and related checks in the…

Does anyone know if I can create an alert that will send a page when multiple ICMP attempts are missed? ICMP = Packet loss. Packet loss is based on the percentage of pings on the last 10 polls. If you miss one ping, Orion actually goes into fast poll mode which will send out 10 quick ICMP polls. So to do exactly what…

You should be able to set these up through Setup / Processes / Action Rules (but it's a little tedious) Action Rule Info tab Rule Triggering: Evaluate criteria... only when updated by a tech (because you don't want clients to be able to trip this rule) When criteria evaluation results in a match... only if criteria did not…

Could it be that the discards were triggered by ACL Deny's? I seem to recall seeing this on a router with ACL's in place.

Bump? Anyone ever remove a device and wonder this??

Would like to see another option other than using the ADFS myself..

To allay any concerns, even if you already manage a node with NCM, and then choose 'No' during the Rediscovery as outlined in the comments above, the node will retain its previous NCM management settings.

When the engineer uses the 'Run as...' and puts in his details again they don't get the script error but usually if it needs elevated permissions it wouldn't run at all, not just give a script error.

That is insanely annoying. We definitely need to get this feature added ASAP.

Another option is to set the time on the hypervisor, LEM will by default try to sync guest to host OS. There seems to be some delay in this approach especially on first boot of a new LEM eval, so you might check and see if it's worked itself out (or give it time if you've just set the hypervisor time). If you want to skip…

1. Add Actions for Alert Suppression Can you provide an example of how you would use this? 2. Add Ability to Acknowledging Alerts Via email response Would a mobile page for alerts do the job?

Still having this issue but I have found a workaround.... I have to export my CP's and then reimport them back in and it works then. Anyone else experience this issue?

Any luck with this? I also need this type of report, I could go the advanced alert--event log--report writer option, but this seems like it could be done via SQL from just report writer and would be a little less cumbersome. If anyone has written something like this and could post up some code it would be appreciated.

I've looked at your post a few times, and I've tried to look at the alert UIs, and it's not obvious to me what the issue might be. I'd have to suggest a Support ticket at this point.

Shameless bump. This is kind of a hot button item for us right now as we are trying to run uptime reports to see if we are meeting SLA requirements and when all of our scheduled down (unmanaged) time is counting against our percent uptime, its kind of a big deal. Are we unique in seeing this issue, or has anyone else…

Yes, but you need the Application Performance Module, which can do WMI. In soon-to-be-released v2.0, it will have a generic WMI Performance Counter functionality so that you can poll any WMI counter.

Good suggestion.

Upgrade to TMG Firewall Client solved the problem. Thank you for your help.

solaris has its own snmp master agent called snmpx for solaris enterprise manager. You could just look up the process table with this.

Thank rob.hock for your advice. I have updated the registry, with setting “Permission AF Type” and value 2 error is the same as before: “- Failed to send from socket (5). [10047]”. When I set value to 23, I am still not able to connect, but the error message is different: “Request for permission to remote control…

I am having the same issue, however I did manage to get <client_email> to stay like that. I typed <<client_email>> and it only takes one set away, even if you save again, it still stays like it is supposed to. However it still doesn't owrk. It still isn't sending to the client email that submitted the ticket. I hope they…

Found my own answer. I modified the Inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion\NetPerfMon\Resources\Misc\SearchNodes.ascx file and removed the lbxNodeProperty.Items.Add(prop); line. I also deleted all other lines that had lbxNodeProperty.Items.Add(new ListItem other than what I wanted. I realize that this will probably be overwritten if I…
