We use a lot of protocols including SNMP, ICMP, RPC, WMI, Syslog, SSH, and others. What are you are you trying to accomplish?
-
Can you reproduce and save the page as an .mht and send that? I'll attach that to the bug.
-
We haven't seen that before. Do you know the steps to reproduce?
-
Where on the web page is it displayed?

D' OH ! It turns out to be a issue regarding mapping the serial and ethernet addresses once the missing routes were added all was well with the toolset AND the VBS script We're feeling pretty silly right now

A HA ! More information. No ACL limititations for TFTP We upgraded to EE Toolset 8 last week, and now it seems that I can't use any of the cisco tools on our production routers. I'm wondering if the old scripts no longer work with the new toolsets The only router I can use with the Cisco tools is one of our 1841. We have…

Hi, We've just moved from a Cisco 11503 to the ACE device and before we had a custom poller for connections and also the server names. What I've managed to come with this time is the following :- Connections - 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.470.1.1.1.1.19 Name of each device - 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.470.1.1.1.1.5 This seemed to be the best I…

One thought: did you make the SNMP changes in NCM also?
-
One thing to check is if you have a Read/Write Comminity String set for the devices (I see you are uninstalling IPAM and NTA, so am wondering if you used IPSLA at some stage). You can run SNMPWalk against the devices and/or a Wireshark and see what's failing. Also check if any ACLs on the devices have changed.
-
To my knowledge, just because something is in the MIB DB, doesn't mean NPM is goint to start gathering stats and create tests and alerts. There are many devices in their already and many useful things for a CISCO that are not "canned feature". You will need to create custom pollers. There are systems that will do it…

The message you attached is basically just saying you don't have any traps yet, so make sure the trap service is running. It sounds like you've checked that. The next thing I'd check is that the isilon storage server is actually configured to send traps to your SolarWinds Orion server, and that there's nothing blocking the…

Scott, Sorry, but bad news all around: No, it's not out yet. And, yes, it requires 9.5.
-
An easy way you can do this is add into your "hosts" file the name of the old email server but the ip address of the new relay, this would save you from changing any alerts, this would also give you the flexibility to change it with ease in the future. I don't know however what this does to relay stuff, the server that's…

Thanks for pointing that out. I've notified the team who manages that demo.

Scott, Looks like a bug. I'll open in our system. Denny

There is a workaround: First create the node with AES128. After that update it with AES256. This works.
-
Are you just wanting the number of users logged in so that you can alert on a certain threshold of users? Also, should this include remote logins (terminal services etc)?
-
Please can anyone help?
-
Guys, is there any one who has any idea about filtering logs based on a specific string?? (like an IP or username)
-
Yes, that's a bug we missed. It's in the queue to be fixed. Denny LeCompte Sr. Product Manager, Orion SolarWinds

It's a feature request. It would help if you could explain the problem you're trying to solve, what information would be ideal, and how you would use that information to solve the problem. Denny LeCompte Sr. Product Manager, Orion SolarWinds

I am also experiencing random polling stops. I notice it is always my primary poller and it happens most often over the weekend. I usually kill the still running netperfmon.exe task, restart it, start system manager and connect to polling engine. It takes a while but these steps generally bring back the poller. The poller…

NPM uses database authentication, not Windows authentication, so Domain\username won't just work. You can use Windows pass-through authentication.
-
how often are you clearing the counters? and how many errors are you looking to trigger at? (how big of a delta)

We don't support IPFIX, but we plan to add that support very soon. Denny LeCompte Sr. Product Manager, Orion SolarWinds

Hey, I've noticed the same message popup happens intermittently when on the Events view when it (attempts) refreshes. Haven't noticed it elsewhere yet. Running 8.1 w/all hotfixes.

It is somewhat possible, if all you're interested in is raw log collection and search, not real-time analysis, alerting, and correlation. If you want something integrated to the real-time feed, though, we're still working on a way for customers to self-serve these requests, so you'll have to go through our support team.
-
No, but it's coming in 2009.
-
If this value is published as a WMI counter, you can use APM. Also, if it's published in an internal SQL table (...lots for performance stats are), you can use APM's SQL Query user experience monitor to get the dat afrom that table.

Looks like we can do it via the "department" field. Each user at a given customer can see all their tickets as they are all going to be in the same "department". Any other ideas welcome!
