i would also like a little more versatility, at least the ability to enter HTML... I would most like to be able to add graphs showing histirical data, such as utilisation, or availabilily. See the way you can create a custom view, and then schedule to email that view out? i woudl like to be able to pull that same HTML into…

Mdriskell, Can you explain what it did in 8.1 vs. what it's doing now? Denny

This feature is not available in 8.0, but it is a candidate for an upcoming release. We'll have more detail on what's coming after the first of the year. Denny LeCompte Sr. Product Manager, Orion SolarWinds

It's not possible today, but metrics will be exposed on the map in v9.5.

How can we help?

No poller to give you, but a quick search found this: CTX119209 - Citrix NetScaler SNMP OID Reference - Release 9.0 - Citrix Knowledge Center nsTcpStatsGroup (1.3.6.1.4.1.5951.4.1.1.46) This provides information about TCP related statistics in the NetScaler product. tcpCurServerConn (1.3.6.1.4.1.5951.4.1.1.46.1) Server…

Can you restate the question?
-
Yes, you can absolutely do that. APM needs you to assign it to a node for internal reasons, but it doesn't matter which node. E.g., you could poll www.solarwinds.com with the HTTP monitor without adding any of our web servers to your Orion, but you would need to nominally assign that monitor to some node in your database.

I think that depends on how nimble your SQL backend server is. If you get a flood of alerts, will your SQL server be able to handle it? Other than that, I don't think there's a limit. HTH, Mike

You have two options to help scale as well. First, there's an add-on called 'Polls Per Second Tuning' that will help adjust your server to exactly many threads need to be used for the amount of interfaces/nodes you have. It even suggests optimal settings for you. Second, you can always add additional polling engines if you…

I am not sure if I asked this question wrong or maybe just nobody knows. If someone could steer me in the right direction that would be super helpful.. Thanks all, JD

William, I posted a detailed post covering how to get the line number of a violation in a thread I created: How to get a darn single line to match and show up in your report as a violation! The reason I created a separate thread is that this is fairly complex usage of regex and very painful to do. However, I think the post…

HSE 8.x is not compatible. You must upgrade everything to v9 or it won't work.

Okay, so I am going to have to play the role of the fool...after our most recent update I accidentally deleted the pre-canned BGP alert in NPM. Can someone point me to an example of how it was created or better yet get me to exported template for this alert? This would be the "Alert me when an neighbor goes down" one.…

I went ahead and moved this over to the Kiwi forum, hopefully someone will pop in and help!
-
Doesn't seem to. I also tried shift-enter as well as some other codes that I've used before to insert line breaks, \n, etc...no dice

We expect to have a fully-compatible version of all of the modules in a couple of weeks. Denny LeCompte Sr. Product Manager, Orion SolarWinds

I would like to be able to sort the "Policy Report" by Node Name. It's hard to find a node among 1000+ nodes. I get tired of scrolling and my vision goes blurry.

Figured this one out. Was able to get access to the Server and figured out that the net admin set the ports for inbound only and didn't set the correct port to outbound to allow active status. The agent would install but then wouldn't initiate back to the Poller so it would say it failed. Figured I would post the answer…

After upgrading from 8.1 to 8.5, a process ran that changed all of my interfaces to 100Mb Fast Ethernet speeds. I was under the impression that would not happen on interfaces that were manually edited at the time they were added to the system. I have a call logged with Solarwinds, but have not heard back from them, and…

Jeff, In general, separating the load across multiple databases will almost certainly improve performance. To get into more detail, you should call your sales rep, and we'll have an SE spend a little time helping you architect the solution.

[JUST SHARING] Hi Guys, Already resolved. See below work around - stopped all services - Disable UAC, run comparability test - repair JE1 - replace JE2 and collecter Sdf. - uninstall and reinstall JE1. - Start all services, ensure PE up and running - monitored CPU for 10 mins seems ok.

Hi, Big help guys. As of now we created support ticket to troubleshoot this problem. I'll inform once the problem resolve. Thank you.

Is there anywhere to get the ones that come as part of the NCM install? I don't know if someone had accidentally deleted them on my server but I cannot find them at the moment. Thanks, Joe

The best use case is to not fire an action if you know another condition exists, similar to your example over in . * When the Exchange service stops, it might trigger other errors that normally you'd send an email on. If this frequently happens, you could set a state variable when the service stops, and check it on the…

one of the patches I have applied per SW Tech support seemed to fix the crashes, and made the Custom MIB poller more responsive, though I am also seeing the issue where after node 500 or so, the Custom MIB Poller is not getting any data

Noah, How many custom pollers are you trying to run? thx dcl Denny LeCompte Sr. Product Manager, Orion SolarWinds

Confirmed. I was having the same problem and the hotfix worked for me as well.

Thank you very much, the hotfix works.

There is a hotfix for this problem. It can be found here: ftp.solarwinds.net/.../Orion8.0.2Hotfix1CustomPollerUIFix.zip Denny LeCompte Sr. Product Manager, Orion SolarWinds
