I'll take it as a feature request.

Nevermind. I never dug into how to get the vents to disappear.

Based on this info you're providing, these seem like SQL issues, not APM issues. Is there something we're missing?

here here! unfortunatley i have the exact same problem described previous I haven't waited for an hour to see if the engine will start polling again and seems to me that 1MIB/hour doesn't seems a good solution.

I know that SolarWinds was being offered free with EmailXtender for a while Really? What exactly was being offered free?
-
Are you still having this problem after you apply the Custom MIB hotfix? www4.solarwinds.net/.../topic.asp Denny LeCompte Sr. Product Manager, Orion SolarWinds

Orion has a REST API you can look into using. It should be fairly easy to gather the information you need to orchestrate since it's based of SWQL which looks a lot like SQL and it runs the queries across the URL.

Ziba, https://thwack.solarwinds.com/community/solarwinds-community/product-blog/blog/2013/12/11/windows-2012-and-sql-2012-and-solarwinds-products That should answer your question about what versions will run on Windows 2012 R2.

Thanks for the request. With newer Windows versions, you can now create targeted event logs. Would you rather see it in the Security Log, one of these targeted logs, or logged somewhere in a flat file so you can protect the directory?

this was not too difficult, I figured it out...thanks

ryounqpe- We have quite a few custom resources that I had written in classic ASP and had to convert to ASP.NET. I will tell you that there is really no "direct conversion". Either way, this thread has helped a ton:

If you could detail how your environment is setup we could look at what is causing this issue? It sounds like you have a shared SQL database server which in a busy SQL environment can lead to resourcing issues if your SQL instance is not configured efficiently. It might be worth monitoring your Solarwinds Orion SQL…

I wonder if this is related to my issue. In Solaris, you can have multiple virtual interfaces on the same physical interface - often this is done to support virtual servers (Containers/Zones). So, suppose I have an interface e1000g0. Under this server I have 3 Zones. The first zone, let's call it "A" to boot up gets…

I am sort of in the same boat. With the proliferation of smart devices I have been asked to scan the network and acquire a list of devices on our wireless networks at all our facilities and determine to what degree the Ipads, tablest and smart phones are on the wireless networks. The only way I can see to be able to do…

If you create a brand new LEM user and log in as that user, do you see the same filters? (NOTE: You'll need to close your console before switching users - create user, close browser, open browser, log in as new user - there's some bum caching of settings that happens and can corrupt things) Did your user by chance first…
-
When did this start? Is your console and appliance the same version? Internally we do use unique IDs for nodes that look like that, but they shouldn't be appearing in your console.

Dave, What you're looking for is the Universal Device Poller in NPM. With it, you can poll almost any OID on the device. We even ship with a temperature and fan state pollers as our samples. They may not be the specific ones you need, but it should get you started. Thanks, Casey
-
The LEM keeps daily config backups by default, but the case is still open and hierarchyTree.xml file had issues in all of the backups. Had to rebuild entire LEM. Call support if you need to restore.
-
Unfortunately, this isn't possible. We'll take it as a feature request.
-
We plan to put NetFlow alerts into a future version. What are some of the alerts you'd like to see?
-
Only assign the pollers to applicable objects and in the resource itself check Auto Hide Resource "Automatically hides this resource if the currently selected Net Object does not have the selected universal device poller assigned to it."
-
inside NPM it does not report physical/virtual as it is just a port being reported to it from Microsoft. With the new way you can virtualize the dual LAN ports on servers you could have it set up where the only ones you see are virtual. Not sure if this was the direction your question was going but I thought I would offer…

I restarted service using Orion Service Manager and that brought the SNMP Outstanding down to a low value. But I recall that I was told I should reduce the Max Outstanding Polls to fix this going forward. Where do you set this? The documentation is vague:…

A couple of thoughts on the collector side - we're currently working on adding agentless event log support, so you COULD deploy an agent that collected both syslog (via kiwi, or a second system) and Windows logs from remote systems. Kind of a hack, not exactly what you're asking for, but may get 90% of the job done and is…

I monitor a lot of JMX servers and I simply apply the JBOSS (JMX) template to the node running JMX and then pick out the parts of the components that aren't applicable. Easy! It seems to work well.
