Hi Tony, I´m currently patching our install to be fully up2date. Will get back if the problem persists. To answer your question: we had Serion 12.0 installed and nta 4.2 (so not very far back). rgds, Richard

There's no way to tell it specifically, but it already does this automatically. When a ping is missed, NPM marks i as warning, goes into "fast poll" mode and pings the device a bunch of times. It's only marked down if it misses all those polls.

It would be nice to be able to "drag n drop" any orion chart/node from one page to another to add it permenantly to you site. That would avoid all of the clicking and set up you would normally have to perform to add something.

Good suggestion. We're planning on some upgrades to Map Maker later this year, so I'd love to hear what else you'd like to see on Map Maker.

When we setup the Top XX endpoint, Top xx Protocols to be displayed on the NetFlow Traffic Analysis Summary page they do not show up even though we have it configured to do so.

UCS is Cisco's Unified Computing System. You can find out some more information here: Cisco Unified Computing System - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia With the NPM UCS polling you will get information on your interconnects, chassis, blades, and VSAN's. Here a thwack post discussing some of the…

In NPM v9, you can use node management on the web to make changes to multiple nodes at once.

Can you elaborate? It's not clear to me what you're looking for.

What are you using to monitor netflow?

Same happening here. After upgrading to 10.1.1 a random account (different accounts on different days) will throw this error. I use the "additional web server" and it appears the login is only broke on this website/web server. If I use the same login on my main SLX website, it works fine. Any Ideas?

Bonjour arsenefta, Merci de poser la question en anglais afin de recevoir une réponse dans les plus brefs délais. Cordialement, Maria

we have the same problem, we have had to work around by just wrapping a process the alert where the service desk have to check system uptime, AND last boot. if they BOTH have a value that implies a reboot, then they investigate accordingly.. if they both do not agree, then we close the alert. problem exists on both…

Here's an update from Krebs with some insight into the HVAC vendor: http://krebsonsecurity.com/2014/02/email-attack-on-vendor-set-up-breach-at-target/ Spoiler: they weren't using real-time antivirus. There's more humor in the update, like using AD credentials possibly being the reason for the two networks to be connected,…

Replying to my own question! The Test button is still greyed out, but I can now generate test messages via the file menu. Better news, I installed Snare for Windows, the benefit is that I can test the product without needing a router. Finally, to confirm that Kiwi Syslog does work on Windows Server 2008 (even the 64-bit…

Didn't think of that, thanks!

It really makes you wonder, given that this kind of stuff seems obvious, what the barrier to entry is - too much other stuff that it's low priority? Even in the Verizon report people who are collecting logs frequently aren't using them. Log data itself is overwhelming, which is one reason why I decided to make the…

Hello, There isnt an easy way to do this in 8.3, but you can in the newest 9.0 version. In 9.0 you go to Options, administration and there is an 'Active Users' button. Do get this data pre-9.0 you would have to to behind the scenes work. Kathy

Alas, we do not currently have our own packaged MSI install (yet? ). It may be possible instead to use our silent installer and run the exe via GPO - SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: Using the SolarWinds LEM Local Agent Installer non-interactively

I've seen this happen if the SNMP service got restarted even if the computer itself didn't reboot. I've also seen this happen in my network gear if I have a bad gbic. If that could be the case, just swap gbics with another port and if the problem follows the gbic...well, that's your answer.

We haven't shipped an NPM 9.1. Do you mean 9.0 or 8.1?

Nevermind, seems that both alerts are now being triggered, must have been a replication issue the first time it didn't trigger :)

Forgive me, but I just inherited this system a couple of months ago and don't know Orion that well. I don't understand what you are telling me to do. "I did mine with a custom property defined for each site. So site A devices had a custom property of CustomerName=siteA" are you saying I need to modify every one of my…

It's not obvious. Please open a support ticket and reference this thread.

anything that can run a browser will do the job, just open a new browser window displaying different information on each screen, also you could use the NOC functionality within solarwinds and set it to cycle every 10 seconds then you can display multiple desktops on one display.

I figured out my issue with the configautodownlaod.exe running multiple times and not quitting, what i noticed was a lot of traps were being sent to my NPM server and were continueing to loop and not stop. i checked my trap alert setting to find that i did not follow page 79 of the admin guide and had the wrong snmp MIB…

I'm seeing the same problem and would really like to see this fixed. I noticed that everything runs fine if we only update a switch at a time but for mass changes I like to push them out with NCM (one of the reasons we got NCM) and RTN stop working is not something we like to deal with every time we update 100 switches.

I have hung up ones all the time.

Make sure you baseline the startup config and then have the change report do the comparison on the baseline config. I'm convinced the regular expressions don't work for config compares. I can't even get it to ignore the certificate self-signed line.

Where did you find the Windows Agent installer? I am planning a mass deployment of the agent and cannot find documentation on installing it outside for Web console "add node" interface. Thanks!
