We do not support SNMP v3 traps in version 8.0. Denny LeCompte Sr. Product Manager, Orion SolarWinds

Did you just switch to 8.5?
-
Do you have C-drive? It might be trying to write a log to the c-drive, and if you don't have one, it gives you an error. If that's the problem, the work around is this: Open a command prompt window and type “subst c: <some valid path>”. This will trick Windows into thinking you have a C drive.

I have 50k burning a hole in my pocket. Get XIV and v9000 support, and then I will transfer the 50k to Solarwinds But quickly please, mgmt is on my case to make a decision (like 4 months ago), and I keep pushing back. Wont be able to push back for much longer, then I will be stuck with TPC/Spectrum indefinitely. Deal?

We transform it to show us the current temperature as percent of the threshold.

I'll go ahead and throw out an update on our status - I installed SP3 and the developers had to send me some updated map engine files a couple times. We are down to maybe a single lock up over the weekend instead of many crashes per day. In fact, we are trying to recreate the crash right now in order to send in some…

Like Curtis, I was able to find the how but not the where. There are ways to pull the data from within SCCM so it's out there somewhere, but I'm not sure if it's in flat files (there are a bunch of logging files for SCCM - our own Patch Manager pulls and uses some of them) or if it's in the database itself somewhere.…

Since my original thread was closed unexpectedly, I've created a new thread for those of us who are still experiencing issues and would like to discuss. FYI. We closed that thread because it had gotten unwieldy with lots of different issues rolled in and including pre- and post-SP3 issues. Re-starting the thread should…

The only work around i can see at the moment is to use a double extension .tar.bin. I have submitted a feature request for this, did you ever find the non-default setting? Thanks Cosii_

We add this query to our alert reset conditions. Not my work. I got this from another thread a couple years ago so I can't give credit to whom credit is due. Duration: ${SQL:Select Floor(Convert(float,(Convert(datetime,'${Year}-${MM}-${DD} ${Hour}:${Minute}:${Second}')-Convert(datetime,'${AlertTriggerTime}'))))} Days…

We've not seen this one. You should open a Support ticket so that we can gather some data.

Thanks for sharing this! Very helpful.

I have the same issue with our resilient packet ring, which is part of a bigger infrastructure and is realized with OME6500's. Have you made any progress in incorperating them into Orion? Maybe APM and TL1 scripting is a possibility.
-
I don't *believe* this is possible because UnDP only gathers data (which you alert/graph with). It isn't considered an "object" that can be up/down/warning/critical and such. You could probably do some really crazy stuff via APM if you really had to show warning/critical levels, but its probably easier writing a little…

We have purchased EMC ScaleIO. We would like to be able to add it to our existing Solarwinds SRM infrastructure.

quote:Originally posted by rlawsha I just finished installing version 2 of NetFlow and the web interface is slower now. When I load either the Network Performance Monitor or NetFlow from a web browser, it takes longer to come up. For a few seconds I get "Loading..." boxes on my screen and then gradually they get filled in…

It's probably due to both SQL and SolarWinds. By default, when we load that page, we are trying to load the most recent 250 trap messages. If the DB is slow to respond, then we could timeout when trying to load the page. The DB may be slow because you have a lot of syslog(mean the query takes a long time) or you have a…

Does Enyone know in which Table writes, on the map placed Nodes information? sorry for bad english...

I need to do the opposite, we use different accounts for polling different domains, so I need be able to easily identify with domain a node belongs to in order to determine which credentials to use for polling. It customera.mycompany.local vs customerb.mycompany.local have different SNMP and WMI credentials. When adding or…

Hi saroopmalhi, If you have some older questions you posted on thwack, but didn't receive a reply yet, you might want to *bump* them so that they will appear in the recent content. You should also check the Library & Support page for more useful tips and information. However, if the issue you are having is urgent, you…

Oh, and I'm using ipMonitor v10.

make the alert and trigger on avg response time >= 500ms add the part where this has to exist for 1 hour before alerting add in trigger to make sure the Node.Status = up should work like a charm Good Luck

I know Orion is not yet a multi-threaded app and that is part of my issue, but can it now run on 64-bit OS? Would a blade server be appropirate or should I look for a standalone? Just to be clear, Orion is mostly multi-threaded. In particular, the job engine that APM uses is completely multi-threaded. The only part of NPM…

Well, I don't have much context for your question, but I'm going to give you an answer anyway. We are replacing the old custom MIB poller with a new poller that is more scalable, more usable, has far more functionlity and substantially fresher breath, so although I do not know your problem, I expect it will be fixed by…

Keeping old devices in NPM would not be the best plan, IMHO, depending on your data retention settings. Take the defaults for instance: Retain Detail Stats7 DaysRetain Hourly Stats30 DaysRetain Daily Stats365 DaysRetain Events30 Days You're going to lose useful details after 30 days here. Increasing your data retention has…

Hi zzark I have added this Report to the Orion Report Writer, but when I try to click Preview in Design mode, it returns an SQL error "Invalid column navn 'Site'". It has to be said that I'm pretty new to Orion NPM. In your description, you write about some value I have to modify - can you be a little bit more specific; I…

We're not sure why that's happening. Could you open a Support ticket?

The UnDP uses the statistics polling interval for the target node.

I really want to thank you for doing this effort for all of us. One thing you fail to mention is that in order for this to appear in your search bar you must visit your Orion Server first for this to end up as an option.
