That worked....odd as I was logged in as Administrator the first time. But I'll take it. Now, on to NCM install and integration.... Thanks!

Hi Denny, We are looking at NPM and APM active alerts such as our critical and warning disk space alerts. We have defined these in the advanced alerts tool to set warning disk space to 90% and critical alerts to 90% of disk space. These alerts appear in the list as "critical disk space alert <servername> etc" and the same…

Hi, Was this issue ever sorted? We've just installed the latest release as a trial and can only see search results when changing from "Connected" to "All" as mentioned above. As giving our helpdesk guys the ability to track down which switch port a given user is connected to easily is one of the main reasons we're trialing…

Yes. Both are being monitored by Appinsight

This is perfect! Thanks.

Not quite what I was looking for. What you suggest is creating a whole new page........ I just want a custom resource / module / widget

do you know of an update or instructions for NTA 3.8?

Thanks for the heads up, does this mean I will need to install UDT 2.0 first to use this query or is it backward compatiable with version 1.0.1 James

This (event taxonomy) is an interesting conundrum. I brought it up in the Thwack Camp presentation because I think it's a common stumbling block, too. In the end, I'm just not sure how/when to introduce the concept. If we put too much conceptual stuff up front it makes the product seem very intimidating and ain't nobody…

Thank-you very much.

Hi Richard, Thanks for the write up - I've followed your process and got the machines talking to each other via Growl. The client is subscribed to growl on the Solarwinds Server I have and all passwords etc are set up. I can see that there is nothing under the Applications tab on growl, it says 'no applications have…

That's it! Thanks!

#77627 - I just opened it this morning and hate to seem impatient, but since I'm leaving I wanted to try to rectify before dumping it on someone else. Thanks!

Thanks Mathew, I did get that far, and when I go to my Palo it does start with my new tab, however the other tab's are also still there and still showing the cpu information I don't want. So at the moment I have the default tab called vital stats (this is showing the cpu graph that does not work) and a new tab I called…

We fixed this in 9.1 SP1. If you install SP3 (the latest), you'll also get this fix.

Biggest challenge for me is educating staff about how to use SolarWinds. People think they know... they fiddle and we end up in a mess. So I help them.
-
I tried rebooting earlier. A Solarwinds developer looked at the server and recommended several changes based in findings. One change was to allocate more CPU's to the VM. I added them and its' been running <50% CPU utilization since. We have some security processes that can be scaled back to improve performance as well. I…

Two ways: * When creating a NEW filter that you want in a group, click on the group header (orange), then click + to add a filter. * Drag and drop. You can see the orange/blue lines and arrows indicate which "level" it's going to drop into (inside/outside the group) So, in testing this myself, I think I found a bug, which…

I am currently filtering another way, but how would you use ApplicationID? I checked the Orion.Node table and didn't see it populated there. How do I link without a shared key?
-
For those in the future that may be looking, Solarwinds support suggested to change the value of Telnet/SSH Connection Timeout to 90 sec and Telnet/SSH Prompt Timeout to 75 seconds (globally).

Thanks for the advice, I thought that I had followed all of this however I got around the problem by installing as the local administrator. I had been using an account that was a member of the Administors group but it seems this didn't have all the permisions required. Jon

I did expect that this would be the answer. Thanks for looking!

My concern with this is that the site is fairly close (geographically) to the server. We do have some sites in Hawaii that would have similar issues with FTP, so I'm back at square one.

Thanks for the link but that was how I created the Custom Property. What I want is to be able to replace either the Current Response Time or Percent Loss fields/data on the Network Summary Page to show the Department. This is more useful to our HelpDesk to see who is affected by the downed device. For example: Current…

I'm not sure I want to play too much with those, as I still do have plenty other applications and components that I want to monitor normally. But I think you're in the right area. I'm suspecting I'll have to exclude/supress alerts for those apps/components in my normal alerts, and make special ones that key off a paticular…

That's it.... thanks AlterEgo!
