Is nProbe the only option apart from the protocol being enabled directly on the device? Or are there others ?

There is a MIB file. I just completed an intro to Netbackup that is being implemented in my employer's environment. The consultants are going to give me the MIB to import into Solarwinds. I told them that I would probably set up a UnDP config to monitor those devices. If Solarwinds Engineering is willing to take a crack at…

I tested this tonight and it seems to be working....This is version 9.something, but I doubt it would be too difficult to adapt to 10 or 11. Weekly job to fire off this script: ' ' Exports F5 BigIP Single Configuration File to local disk, transfers to SCP server'export…

A little more detail other than use single quotes is required to address this issue.

I've managed to get the parameters for the switch to be correct for these commands snmpset -v1 -c Public 10.2.1.167 1.3.6.1.4.1.14706.1.1.5.1.4.11.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.1.1.1 i: 50 Does the IP address refer to 10.2.1.167 refer to the NetFlow Analyzer server or the switch?

The monitor I am looking for is a specific monitor in perfmon. If you go under the "Memory" performance object and select the "Free System Page Table Entries" counter, you can find that monitor. Is it possible to get the OID for this specific counter in perfmon or is that not how it works? Thanks, Eric

Even in the demo site it looks like the only way to get rid of this rather annoying prefix is to edit the interface description in SolarWinds which means i've got to go through and edit every single interface. I've found that the IfName field in the DB contains the actual information I need about the port name without the…

aynov, Thanks for the reply. I like what you did and I tried it but my pages just showed up with the X for the image. I am sure it is just a source issue so I will continue to play with it. Did you locate the html page(s) in intepub or did it matter?

The reason I want to be able to run a report from Orion is for my Manager. He would much rather run a report from the Orion console then have to worry about a powershell script. I was hoping a report like the "Cisco IOS version" report could be created for Windows Server Serial Numbers. If I have the APM already pulling…

If your goal is to send an email when a certain event is logged in Windows, you could do that a little differently. Read these: Getting event log contents by email on an event log trigger – John Howard – Senior Program Manager in the Hyper-V team a… Event Log Email Alerts with PowerShell – Brian Lachniet Once you get it…

I made a change to the alert to be greater than or equal to unknown and the alert triggered. Will the also trigger for down or did I just break that? That's probably not your best bet. Instead, you might say alert when not equal to Up. That'll capture Unknown, Down, etc. If you only want Down or Unknown, then create two…

YOU ROCK!!! That did it! Thanks! Mike

I understand that, but what OID would I use to grab the running config from a cisco router?

Did you try WHD URL + ?username=<username>&password=<password> or maybe by using the API token under setup > Techs > My Account > API Key > Generate? Rest API guide - https://documentation.solarwinds.com/archive/pdf/WHD/WHDAPIGuide.pdf should be on page 8.

that's very odd, it does not work for me... if I use the URL above in my environment, it does not work... it says login failed. I think copy and paste FROM the URL into the login dialogue (username and password), and it logs in...

Hi Martin, thanks for the reply however its difficult for us to share log data due to our customers restriction levels. I have managed to obtain some enhanced WMI troubleshooting steps from a supplier so hopefully this will help highlight if we have a problem. The question I raised was really to ascertain if this is normal…

Interesting. Did you lose all previous data collected from the DC when you did that? This would be a very inefficient process every time a password changes on the domain.

then come together for the maps, you have to copy this folder from network atlas?

so if I add tabs, topologies, alerts, all that is in the database?

I wonder if there is that possibility ... I want to do without having to set up everything again. I think only restore the base, my system will not be complete as it is today ...

Here is a screen shot of the Remote Connect screen. The only links that should be in the Saved Host List are the ones I requested to be saved. Now, when I connect to another computer the system saves the link in this folder. Maybe I should uninstall and re-install the app. The Reconnect list is not a problem, the Saved…

FWIW, SNMPv3-based discovery is coming later in 2009.

Now i'm getting a different problem. I can't really explain why this isn't working anymore. I used your above example to insert groups for custom property 'site' in a deployment I did in October and didn't have any issues. When I went back and grabbed that code to re-use it for another, it no longer seems to work(on either…

When typing in the message box, we get the random carriage returns. After typing in the message box, and then pasting the content into WordPad, we would see the random carriage returns just as we were seeing them in the emails.

That's pretty straightforward. I've captured that feature request.
