Sounds good. Thanks Denny!

Hi Jeff We upgraded all or Nexus to 5.1(3)N1(1a) recently, so could you let me know what troubleshooting we could do to see what the issue could be Nexus kit is 5K Thanks James

Thanks. That worked for me. I initially had an issue because Windows firewall blocked port 17777, and after I fixed that , the compatibility check failed. This was happening while my main poller was pegged at 100% CPU, which is why I needed another poller quickly! Now I have 2 pollers, both under 50% CPU utilization and my…

Halef, Yes I have tried but I will take a second look. knowing that it should work helps me look in different areas to why it's not working. Thanks, Tom

Thanks Jiri.Tomek! I had to modify what you suggested (not sure if it is an Orion 9.5 thing) to the following syntax: Application.TemplateID IN (select TemplateId FROM APM_Tag WHERE Name LIKE 'YourTagHere') When I did the above it showed my data. This was a great tip as I can use it in the future.

I have integrated Orion with Virtualization Manager, and the virtualization tab is showing. Thank you!
-
Thank you guys for helping out, I checked the Settings table and found no Virtualization.Tab.Enabled, it seems like it has been removed form this version of NPM.

Please note, the discovery isn't intuitive when it finds devices so it things all devices are when it runs as they are responding to it. The discovery isn't checking against the database for nodes during the discovery process. It only checks against the database when the import is attempted. This is what needs to change!…

We updated some icons in Map Maker, but no big changes otherwise. We are, however, planning to focus on Map Maker in the subsequent release.

You don't need Orion to know about the MIB's in order to use the UnDP to poll it. You can enter the OID yourself, set if as a counter(on the same page as entering the OID), and assign it to the nodes you want to poll. UnDP will still be able to query the device for data.

Hi Marie- Tried installing the XP version of the scripting host and the installer said my SP version already installed this host. Thanx -michael

Rob, Is there anyway to increase the limit of 450 objects per location to 2000? The map selection tool is preventing me from adding our large datacenters to the map. Otherwise I'll have to forego the use of the the worldwide map and only use the atlas tool with nested maps. Thanks.

Ok, you know this was coming.... can you provide examples? I originally had 3 alerts but like I said I would get duplicate alerts if the volume went over 95%.

Thanks for the purge information. That helps… To answer your first question. Yes, when I run a manual backup by clicking on the root of the node list and then click on download configs, everything works fine. I’ve tried rebooting the server and checking to make sure the “Request Configs Using” method are correct. Strange.

Argh. User error. I thought I had triple checked everything, but I had a stray filter set because I was trying to track down a few computers that hadn't been on in a while. Nothing to see here!

I've also noticed that the IP accounting on one of my routers is showing that a particular Pc has transferred over 1Mb of data over a period of 5 minutes to one server. But netflow shows that this PC only transferred 256KB over the same period of time, whats up with that? If you have unmonitored traffic, it won't show up.

We'll consider this for a future release.

thanks for the reply bshopp! but its possible to get the nodes from one database and move it to another database correct? just the nodes. currently, our situation is that there are 2 demo licenses in the two sites, now that they are about to purchase thay want to get the data from the two databases so that we dont have to…

I think that helped to clear things up a bit. I had to restore my licence.lic file from a backup also, because no matter what, I couldn't get Kiwi reinstalled, the service wouldn't start at all any more, and the interface and licencing manager wouldn't start or allow me to re-register without the service running. Things…

Back on this 'cause it just popped up again. My EOC map for a sight is yellow. When I drill down it "appears" to be due to the fact that I have an unmanaged node and EOC shows it as a missing node on the map. Am I going to have to edit the EOC maps every time I have to unmanage a node? Running EOC 1 SP2 Host fix 1 & 2.

I only thought your understanding of the resource was correct(as it was the same one I had). Having looked at some of the other summary charts and going back to previous versions, the UnDP Summary chart resource takes an average of all the values. The average of your values was just over 12 million, which is what is…

Thanks for the reply, I haven't had a chance to try it yet because I need to create a formal ticket for this as the company I work for has a change control process in place.
-
Thanks Darryl. That is what I am doing now but I can imagine that list getting harder to manage as we bring our overseas offices into the fold and I have to exclude 50 - 75 nodes.
-
I have the same error in the cortex logs, what was your fix?

Same problem here. Majority of our access switches are 3750s We're running 12.2(55)SE3, SE4, SE5. We filter out the 3750s with transmit discards > 1000 from the High Errors & Discards resource . Edit: Here is the filter we applied. (Nodes.Status=1 AND (Nodes.MachineType NOT LIKE '%37XX%' AND Interfaces.OutDiscardsThisHour…

We've tested against APM, so it's probably an interaction with your specific environment. Please open a support ticket (and refer to this thread) so we can help you troubleshoot the issue.

It is not currently planned as a module. At present, we're still dealing with licensing issues.

We are upgrading to NPM 12, in the next few months. Thanks though, kind of figured it would only work with NPM 12. On Wednesday, October 5, 2016, chrispaap <communityteam@solarwinds.com>

Yes, it is still there as a managed node. should I remove it from the NMS so that alerts couldn't be received???
