The discover ports option doesn't show a delete function at any point, on my version. The manage ports option allows me to delete a node, but it completely removes it from NPM, not just UDT. Is anyone at SW monitoring this discussion? Do I need to open a ticket for resolution? Rick

Resolved my issue. Apparently during the upgrade it added duplicate items in all of the Views for Netflow. I had to go under Manage Vies and edit each Netflow view and remove the duplicate entries. Once this was done, i had no issue going to the pages anymore. Thanks!

Great - thank you. Do I need to load an agent onto the monitored node? Would that give me additional performance insight?
-
Ok, What about possibly adding them. I would like to monitor my server and learn how to make these counters work, not just ignore them.

When in the System Manager I click on Orion in the file menu then custom property editor. When i click edit nodes I have two columns on the right hand side, they are labeled ConfigFlag and RouterList. For each node these columns have checkboxes in them, but I dont know what function they provide.

Thank you! Did search for this but maybe I should have typed directlink instead of just link!! Jimbo

I replied with the solution

Sure, Even if I cut a line out of a device config, paste in the search box, and only include the device I copied it from in the nodes to search, it doesn't find it. Also doesn't work from the NCM web Console.

Solarwinds???? Are you listening???

It would also be nice to have the link on the main report writer welcome page to the "online manual" actually link to relevant information to the report writer rather than a manual repository that appears to be strangely absent of any useful information related to the report writer. Here is the link the report writer…

Thanks Lukas, that was very helpful. A few more questions about deployment. Can WPM server be co-resident with our NPM server? And for polling stations, I don't need an NPM polling license right, just a regular server without NPM would be fine? Thanks!

Hi planglois, Do you have a case open for this? If so, could you please post the case number on this thread? Thanks.
-
My apologies for misunderstanding dufer's post. My response was in regard to using the ${DateTime} variable in Alerts. SW has confirmed this is a bug through our Case#360826 (Bug-Closed) however, I just confirmed it is still not fixed in 10.4.

This is what I want: I don't believe you can do that because the "Group Name" property won't be available for the Node monitor, which is why it's been suggested to use the "Down" status for the group. I can imagine this isn't exactly what you want though as you want specifically Reloads, but I believe Group properties only…

Roger, this appears to have worked... process went like this: SW support reactivated my APM oller license i managed to deactivate the mistakenly applied poller license from the core APM server I then reinstalled APM 3.0 SLX when it asked me to license, i selected to continue Evaluation APM then came up. questipons 1. how…

The tutorial is generic. It should work for any MIB.

Hi Chris / Forum dudes I have still not made this change but i am about to, and then i started to think about other potential issues. basically, I currently have the NCM installed on my main NPM server. this means I have a single syslog service that feeds both NCM and NPM, thus giving the NCM the support it needs for being…

i should have stated also, that the current NCM is blank, i.e. no devices are held within it, but i am about to roll it out and replace kiwi backup on sever sites with my centralised NCM i will read the link anyway an check if it is something I have to do being that my NCM is still virgin... cheers for the reply mate! dan

Thanks Marie but I was trying to use the NCM report scheduler function since it simply generates the report and emails where NPM actually tries to open the report on the NPM web (which can't be done in our environment). Oh well, back to the drawing board.

I do. I just do not see that alert I will keep looking
-
in your screen shots I do not see the variable to add that will pull the running process. in your screen of alert manager I do not see the out of the box alert that all ready does this. can you send shot of what I need so I can make sure I can see it.
-
sound promising but I do not see those alerts when I go to manage alerts. what do I need to do to add them?
-
I just talked to support and they did acknowledge the issue. I am also anxiously awaiting a fix; we have problems at least once a day.
-
Thank you, I used your steps and that worked.

Brian [I might have clicked on the wrong button ie: "Verify the Answer" when I shouldn't have.] At any rate, since the hits to the posting were very "light"; and your suggestions don't seem to be the answer, we will be setting up a session with Support. Thank you for your interest. Dave

I am interested in the solution to your original question. Thanks
-
i will definately sign on for this one. he is stating the exact one that I have the most issue with polling serial numbers. I just dont see why it should be eating polling cycles every minute when the once a hour or once every 4 hours will probably be enough

Thank you! #2 works fine.

I need an answer to this because I just ran into it. NCM makes you type a password instead of letting you select globalenable macro. This is looking like at some point we will have to manually changes passwords for devices every time we change passwords on the devices. This is not good!

I tried the settings per Justin's instructions , but still received "Email Account was updated successfully. However, the following error occurred while attempting a connection with the mail server: Authentication Failed". I've attached both the incoming and outgoing configurations. On Virtual Appliance, do I have to open…
