I believe an Alert Trigger, is an Alert Trigger. If it is Triggered, it will not Trigger another Alert of the same type. Correct

Thanks for the quick and informative reply. We can wait for GA of 9.2. When you say it's not configured in 9.2, will that mean at the point we do upgrade there will be some manual non-standard setup for us to do to get it working? Thanks

Is there a way to automate this? I have about 1000 servers to apply this change to. The process would be to lookup the hostname using DNS, and replace the node's name in Solarwinds with that name.

Question about the Escalation level: It is described as "If the alert is not acknowledged...". To me, that sounds like human intervention is still required. If the condition is no longer true, but no one has acknowledged it, wouldn't the escalation still occur? thanks -Paul

I agree completely with the first part, but will disagree a bit on the deleting of interfaces. I have 10's of thousands of interfaces that are not monitored and the they generate no false alerts nor stale data as they are, as I stated, not monitored. Additionally, if at a later date I want to monitor one of those…

I don't get any settings at all back - did you have to make any config changes to your UPS? My UPS is a GPSER11201RU.

Thank you for the information! It gives me a place to start - we had thought it was a spreadsheet because of the query, but I hadn't thought of information hard coded in the there.I'll use the query you provided to see if we can locate them!

Thanks Denny for the reply. As for "Aren't you more interested in increases from this baseline time than the absolute time?" - No. This number is unrealistic. If it took 16 seconds for our email to flow then our users would be screaming! Unfortunately I am comparing this to what we were using which was HP's OVIS product…

Chris, I upgraded to 5.1 last week and I've had to reboot my NCM/Orion server teice since Thursday. I've had to turn off RTCN due to the same issues I saw under 5.0 Anny suggestions before I open a Trouble Ticket ? Thanks, Doug

No

Thanks Chris. I turned of RTC shortly after my initial post, and my server's performance has been MUCH better. I would like to turn it back on ASAP, so I will definitely be looking forward to 5.1. Thanks, Doug

I'm using the test feature on the Log Forwarder. I see all of the other configured log entries reaching the server but not the Windows failed login entries. I've created the new filter using the text snippet and an email alert, no luck, though. The domain controllers are operating @ 2012 R2, I'll modify the filter to look…

Looks like 1.2.0.114.

I too have a Redline radio network here in Iraq and recently installed Solarwinds NPM to monitor all our network devices. I found Clearview lacking and have been able to get some stats on Solarwind but if you have a good custom poller you would be able to share it would be very happy. I am up to my neck getting Solarwinds…

I am not sure about the attributes. Can you please elaborate this? Yes we are managing VM and ESX hosts in NPM as the same time.
-
It's not possible at this time.

In 8.5, Report Scheduler will install by default with the rest of Orion.
-
This is an NPM alert and I am actually monitoring device latency as I do not have SNMP access to the remote device (ie, just pinging the external IP of the other side) I have used a workaround at the moment, where I launch an external program (powershell script) that will ssh into the router execute the commands required…

What, if anything, was changed/upgraded regarding wireless with Orion v9? No changes.
-
This will be a custom application that will run known transactions against some web services that access a mainframe in a remote location. We will be using this to track the time it takes to complete and will create an alert if the time increases to an unacceptable level. The plan would be to have APM run the application…

It's on our list still, no change from current behavior.

No change yet.

It's important to note for anyone following along at home that LEM is used for traps only, not for health monitoring, so the feature request is actually around adding health monitoring, not just modifying the community string (though when we add health monitoring, we'll need to make it so you can modify the string). If you…

I wan't to be able to request a new page from the server instead of being served a cached page. I have gathered pretty well that this is not possible with SAM. I need to input a http/s head request or something of that nature.

That's correct. To manually activate, go to your solarwinds.com customer portal, go to "License Management", select the license you want to manually activate, click "Manually Register License" next to the key you want to manually activate, then fill out the form on the following page. Generally the "Computer Name" is a…

By any chance are there Turkish regional settings being used? I've seen one other issue where this was a problem. If not, what regional settings are you using on the server? On the web browser?

Thanks Yann for the quick reply. I just checked and it was set for Full. I since have changed it to Simple and shrank the log file which worked. Was this documented somewhere and I missed it? Thanks again!

I cannot find the entry in ndepth. I just tried another VPN connect and disconnect. In Kiwi syslog, I see this message when I disconnect (sensitive info replaced by *****): 2012-06-11 13:20:52 Local2.Warning 10.10.9.1 Jun 11 2012 13:20:52: %ASA-4-113019: Group = *****, Username = *****, IP = *****, Session disconnected.…

I followed the steps in parts one and two. In regards to the Hardware Capability, my average was between 1.5 and 1.9. Which I take it may not be a good thing since the documentation says it shoud be less than 1? The SQL server is Windows server 2003 running on a Core 2 Duo 2.00 GHz with .97 Gig of RAM. I reloaded the…
