Well, I think I found a workaround. It's not perfect and I still can't get the HTML version to generate, but it is working with PDF generated reports. In the Edit Report Schedule, choose "Assign Webpage" and use the IP address of your Orion website with HTTPS and the report ID. IE…

Thanks for the help. There is a step that doesn't seem to apply when I configure the scheduled inventory task. The highlighted step doesn't show up. Since I can't select a template, it seems like I just rescheduled the default Inventory task, but this time it only has 'Registry' selected instead of almost all of the other…

Are you doing it via platform memory since this router seems to be running Linux? Seems to calculate out to what NPM is reporting. sh mem platform Virtual memory : 13325164544 Pages resident : 694826 Major page faults: 3188 Minor page faults: 228289660 Architecture : x86_64 Memory (kB) Physical : 3950588 Total : 3950588…

John, Have you upgraded all of your modules? Until you upgrade everything, your web console won't look right. You should be getting a call from Support shortly. Thanks, Denny

Hi, Yes, I'm aware of that. That wasnt my real issue... My real Issue was how to get these traps into Orion Alerts in the first place. I'll try and explain. In the "Advanced Alert Manager" I can choose "NetPerfMon Event Log" in the "Trigger Actions". This choise doesnt exist in the "Trap Viewer / Alert Actions". Any idea?

i have same problem on solaris and free BSD, and even windows on occasion (and it is not SNMP restarting)

Hi Mark, Thanks for the response. Answers to your questions: Do you have other modules installed and are they also v 8.1? Are you referring to Orion modules? Yes, we have the Wireless Networks module which is also V8.1 and Netflow Traffic Analysis (sorry, can't get the version as it gives me Run-Time error: 430 on the…

I just performed NPM 10.4->10.5 and NCM 7.1->7.2 at the same time. Worked like a charm, just takes a while for everything to run though.
-
I've done one upgrade of NCM to 7.2 and there were no issues. However I had first upgraded to NPM 10.6 RC2, so your mileage on 10.5 may be different.

Is this 5000 or 500. SOlar winds tells me that that for 50 APM monitors i need to pay $5000 USD. This price sounds really high. When you say $5000, you mean that you would need to pay that to buy both Orion NPM and Orion APM. You're getting all the value of NPM SL-100, which is considerable, and you're getting APM. APM…

Thanks Greg for the quick reply. I have a better understanding now. But I know a certain switch has many physical servers plugged into it, but I only see mac addresses- no ipaddresses and no host names. Is it because Port Mapper has to go thru a firewall to get the the switch and router? I see no firewall drops though.

richard.john still giving that same issue. The scroll bar is not showing up on new sessions, you have to resize the window every single time for it to show up
-
I thought this was only for new nodes or I suppose I could enter the node again but that'll mean I have to do a cleanup of the duplicates afterwards. Is there a way to do this for nodes that already exist?
-
hi could you please explain me in detail thanking you

Thanks Josh! Still looking for help on the non-cache question?

Hmmm. So I tried just having the one server in the Alert's Selected Database Instances list, and it still sent for all monitored servers. I then went to Alert Groups, created one for this server, moved the alert to Selected Alerts, set the Selected Database Instances to the instance I want monitored, and then saved it.…

Good work

Good question, although I can't confirm anything will materialize or come to fruition, I can convey ShoreTel has and is evaluating developing similar type capability-embedded in ShoreTel products (e.g. switches, ip phones, etc...) or other- in response to questions such as yours and demand we see from other customers,…

Hey Mcbridea Thanks for the quick reply. This is exactly what I meaned. Just hoped there was a solution that didn't require me to change the way our alerting is setup. Is there a limit on how many different alerts you can/should setup or is this unlimited?
-
the app monitor is working; I'm just new to this. So if I look under the components at both the mailbox send and receive queue's that reflects the number of messages in each?
-
Thank you, that will work!
-
Just one further question? @zackm that screenshot you posted doesn't look like my web report writer, and when I create my new web report I can't see that field you mentioned. "AppInsight for Exchange: Mailbox" am I in the wrong place completely?
-
We don't have multiple devices with the same name but we do see not having the IP address in the alert message as a problem. The IP address is in an interface alert message but the node name is not and the node name is in a node status alert but the IP address is not. I was able to unseal the SolarWinds Orion Library…

You're not going to get the flow data quick enough to address the phone call scenario. If VoIP is suffering at all your priority queue doesn't have a high enough bandwidth reservation or you need to implement CAC. And be careful what you wish for. You may automate yourself out of a job!
-
Well stated!
-
Thanks, I'll give it a try.
-
Nope, I have an option to convert the returned value and then a threshold for Warning and Critical. Nothing that would let me compare a difference, at least that I can see.
-
Thanks for the info Superfly99...but just to be clear, you are only monitoring a switch, and of course the uplinks to other switches, not the individual ports on that switch. Unless of course, as you put it, they are important. For me, those would be my servers. Eric

Thanks! :)

Most likely the issue is: Linux screen shot, 1GB = 1024*1024*1024 NPM: 1GB = 1000*1000*1000 Solarwinds should changed their calculations. SolarWinds is correct, 1GB = 10^9. 1GiB = 2^30, which is what the linux machine is reporting with. What SolarWinds *should* do is not to change their calculations, but offer the ability…
