I also preferred the separate emails. We have scheduled downloads of over 100 devices, and it was much easier to glance and see that something changed as opposed to sifting through a long email.

Generally, when they aren't generated by inferred alerts/rules, they are generated by devices that have a little more insight into the network and what's "normal", like a firewall or more commonly IPS/IDS. The "Suspicious" ones are not conclusively bad, while the "Attack" stuff tends to be fired from the firewall/IPS/et al…

Still cannot get what I want after try your suggestions. This took me a matter of minutes in PRTG with no help for anyone. I just cannot get over this!
-
PRTG does not offer Professional Services because their software is easy to understand, far more logical. Simply put, it just makes sense.
-
When was the last time you used PRTG? Just in the last year they have made leaps and bounds. PRTG has truly matured to compete with bigger more expensive solutions. I worked at a manufacturing company several years ago that had 14 site world wide. They used SWI and then was introduced to PRTG. In days the IT Director…

Thank you.

Not sure what the issue is with Hot Standby. Please open a Support ticket.

where do you get sp3? I don't see it online.

And me too.....

Yes, thank you. I thought of that over the weekend, and when I came in today I saw this post. I can't actually recall if this alert ever worked correctly - I was brought in to administrate Orion after someone else had already configured it, and the original administrator is no longer available to question. I have only…

Is there any fix for us bums that have not upgraded to 9.1 SP2 - we chose not to upgrade from 9.0 SP2 to 9.1 due to the undesired changes in the parent/child icons colors for down nodes etc. on maps. Are we now forced to upgrade to 9.1 SP2 if we want this fixed?? We provided the ability to show the parent/child rollup…

To answer your questions in reverse order, it is not these "two" alerts, it is only the one involving RAM volume percent available less than or equal to 5. The CPU load alert works just fine, and sent out an email yesterday on one of our servers - I only included the screen capture of the trigger condition to show the…

its version 6.0 and It was an option when I searched the nodes for applications. Thanks for the reply

Hi thanks for reply, actually it was running on another server very slow, I have just done the fresh installation on fresh server and pointed the modules to the same DB, but still running very slow, we are here 6 users accessing daily, also I'm managing around 550 server, 1000 volume and around 500 interface, Thanks,
-
That is the answer.... After comparing this answer to what I was using I found I had left the (s) off of interfaces. Thanks again for the help..

This is something we are working on for the next service pack. We've made a few changes that will result in faster startup times.

Yes, 10.1.1

No it doesn't have access, that would explain it. But know my problem is that no matter what I do for the permissions on the folder located on a share it still will not give it access. I have tried the following Giving the server access to the folder Giving the service account access to the folder Both of these dont work…

Thanks Colby the second half of that is exactly what I needed. Do you know of a document that lists what appears in which report? That would make building custom reports with the filters much quicker and easier. Thanks again.
-
Creating a custom report without a pretty name in windows 8.1 is not a problem actually. But if i am right i can modify the report's file properties so it displays correctly in the Reports console which i have not be able to do . Problem is that i actually need a structure report. Because the report i get is only raw data…

It doesn't show up as "Unknown" thought I'm not sure how to make the appropriate information show that we need to monitor.

When setting up the IronPort device in NPM, what SNMPv3 Context do you use? The IronPort documentation lists the username, but no context. Is that just blank?
-
Get the Node list from the Orion database. Thus I do not have to enter devices TWICE, or forget to add them etc...
-
I'm pretty sure I already have monitors attached, I just don't know where to click to actually spit out a graph of the CPU usage of a specific process over time.

Its not so much a matter of avoiding drilling down but maximizing what is available from the viewable map before you drill down. The more information that is available the better. For instance i am exploring the options for making a map to illustrate our edge topology and it seems that it would be helpful to be able to add…

Works perfectly! I'm still getting acquainted with the SDK -- I appreciate the help.

Nope. We are waiting until the dust storm settles with 9.5. I have read and heard way too many horror stories with this version and mgmt will not allow me to cut over until they can be assured they will not be blind. Is there a work around for this outside of upgrading?
