I see. so is this the correct way to say alert when DAT_COUNT is 300 OR when XFER_COUNT is 15?
-
thanks for your reply. but i want to display the view on the big wall-screen. so cant not Report write. it is not on real-time.
-
i want show the node and interfaces by group. being many nodes.
-
yes I want to keep the node .. the same ip has several servers that I would like to monitor put even changing the SNMP community (community different for each server) it will not let me adiconar a node of the same ip

It's coming.
-
it'll be out in the next release. Denny, can you clarify "next release" please? Do you mean service pack or release like in 9.1? Release is a long time to wait for functionality that was taken away to be restored.

We can actually deploy a dedicated database appliance if it's necessary, but we've found in our experience that's rarely the case. I can't say we've had a customer go this route in a very long time, since the all in one appliance works so well.

Thanks, My monitoring tool is on LAN connection to 6509. What bothers me that monitoring tools/Orion shows higher number of the response time while from the Same Box/Orion my ping response time is not that high Sincerely Viral

what I may do is move my SNMP polling to the serial interface instead of polling the internal LAN interface. That way i can at least get an alert on the LAN side if the WAN is still operational.

thanks for the response my SA said i might want to load the hotfixes to try and fix my issue with the website. then I thought about the SP3 and thought i should ask first.

Hi Subbu, Thanks for the info. Can you similarly tell me about nested grouping? Rgds, TJ

This is right. I had checked that this morning with one of my partners. There are about 15 with WMI issues with services, but there are far more that have issue with RPC. I tested one against it useing WMI and it worked. I was wondering if one was in general, more reliable than the other. I will have to work with the OS…

Good call! We integrated the upgrade guide into the user guide, so you'll find it there.

That worked a treat, I selected the XY while recording the transaction and then selected "main trade" and selected the "main trade" I wanted and then when the playback ran through it worked! thanks Marc.mesverrum

No - these have been goofed up since discovery.

This helped me too. our SAM monitor was out of control. I'm adding another poller.
-
Can someone please let me know how to do this using the REST API? Thanks, Scott
-
I'm looking to do the same. We have the log forwarder installed on 1 server, but it is not showing the actual event ID which is what we want to alert on.
-
Thanks Michael. I have provided a little more information in my bio. I completely understand the point you made and, in my defense, this is really the first time I have posted in the Thwack forums due to the fact that this project has just fallen in my lap and I need to organize a solution ASAP. Thanks again for your…

What about the Web Console in v9? Do you also need to know if someone accesses web node management? Yes for us. We would like to know when anyone does any MACs in SM, CPE and web management MACs including Admin changes to settings & views.

This works fine for Performance Counter Monitor but not for Windows Service Monitor. Any idea how to set account permissions for a non admin account that allows Windows Service Monitor to query services?
-
Alert is of that "Node is down" but node is up at that time.
-
Does this still hold true? Is there not a way to search interfaces by MAC addresses?
-
That might just work. Orion hasn't been able to discover the Dragonfly vendor type, but I can define it in the node's Custom properties, then match on that in Alert Manager. I'll try that and see if works. Thanks.

Hi, That KB article worked a treat and I can now get the full browser experience on my iPhone and iPad. Shame the support call I logged with Solarwinds didn't point me at that article! Incase anyone wants to do the same the settings that worked for me (I've not idea really what it means) is as follows :- <!-- iPhone -->…

Repair disks.. can you help me?
-
Hello. Could you please help me out on the monitoring of the physical disk status? All of our servers are Dell PowerEdge 2950 and our requirement is to monitor the physical disk status itself. Thanks in advance

Has anyone had any luck importing direct to the Database; I would guess that you will need to restart the polling Engine if you do but there are times that I would accept that with the amount of data I need to add As for custom data we change that all the time on the fly from outside Orion mostly to allow remore site to…

No - we get an audio alarm each time it refreshes. Just upgraded to the 9.1 and it's the same in this version.

Satish- Looks you already have an answer here: Unless I didn't understand your question. This pretty much sums it up for me. because when I looked at my entire groups report from a total perspective, it does confirm that my parent groups are inheriting the worst status from the children, just like I had set them to do for…
