Thanks Danielle

Hi Byrona, thank you for the information. I will take a look, but I am still hoping someone has a fix for this. ;-)
-
I will give that a try today and let you know how it goes. Joe

There is an option to send as a PDF?

Ditto the idea of a scroller.... We have used something like this in the past that would scroll down devices across the top with down times. Keeps it visible to all who are looking. This can also be used to post information to keep those informed.....

Deltona, This is what I see. How can I configure an alert to use the disk usage general thresholds? That's pretty simple to do with CPU load, memory usage, response time and packet loss general thresholds.
-
client apps away from NPM servers is a must.... it s a real pain that i have 5 people working on Orion but only 3 can RDP i also want to give non-techies access to report writer... and publish report writer to Citrix... lets have it SW

I don't think Deltona answered wintr's question. I have the same question, which is, can alerts be setup to monitor disk usage? I see disk usage in Orion thresholds but not node details. As wintr pointed out, there are no variables for disk usage. Hard to believe this functionality is not available. ORION THRESHOLDS NODE…

I want to make a couple of comments. First off, we don't expect anyone to be thrilled about a price increase, but we have tried to ease the change. We've provided a grace period for customers to renew at old prices for six months since we know it's difficult to budget for this kind of change. I've been here since before…

Thank you! Finally an answer that makes sense... I guess technical support did not get the memo.... In any case I modified my reports and queries to include the adjustment for the time change. dateadd(hour, -6, datetime) will adjust for the variance.

Samuel's correct. NBAR is a completely separate technology with some obvious overlap with NetFlow. We at SolarWinds have seen a few requests for NBAR, but the interest has been mild.
-
I found an older PDF that noted the following: ${FullName} Provides the name of the application and the name of the node on which the application is running, for example, Firefox.exe on BuildSandbox Computer. This would work fine for me. Perhaps, I need a more updated list of available variables.

We need out users to be able to change their passwords, I am not going to make them all admins just for this feature. Correct me if I am wrong here but this feature used to work in a previous version of NPM I believe. We are on version 9.1. Also the pass-through authentication won't work either because our users are…

We essentially packaged the full Orion NPM Syslog Server with NCM. So the only gotcha is if Orion NPM Sylog Server is already installed on the same machine, NCM won't install its Syslog Server. Hi, I have just installed NCM 5.0 onto the same server as Orion v9. NCM installed a new Syslog server and disabled my original…

Good afternoon silverback! Thank you for your quick reply. We are talking about ESX servers. A whole bunch of them was added the same way. I do see them in the NCM as well as in the web view. I am able to see the guests, ressources et cetera. For some reason I only see a couple of them in the syslog selection. "...their…

Thanks for researching! Before creating this thread I researched and then opened case with support and provided Diagnostics. Last response from support was this is known issue with no estimated time to resolution. This is impacting production but cannot disable Active Directory because it is used by SAM v6.0.0 monitors to…

Looking at one of the nodes it has been down since 11/9/09. I show it down but when I look at the Events table in the database using this query select * from events where networknode = 1357 and nothing returns yet it is down.

I am using Windows 2008 x64 with ActivePerl 5.16.2 build 1602 64-bit.

Hi Lawrence, Thank you for the prompt response. I will have a look at the instructions you provided and see what reports are generated. However I would like to have a look at the Patch Manager Web Console and see what it looks like. So please excuse my ignorance but how do I go about installing the web console? Regards,…

I feel a little stupid ... I tried that but it didn't work... I was always connecting with the admin user (to be able to change settings) but never changed the settings for the admin user... Works great, thanks wbrown !

Thanks Tim!!

RC3, thanks.

Now I have the question "if you add an additional poller, do you HAVE to point the syslog of a node to the poller that polls it?". Or any you direct syslog to ANY which one as suggested above. This thread seems to make me think that logging and polling HAVE to be done by the SAME poller:…

Current Value is a value in Basic Alerts, but it doesn't exist in Advanced Alerts.
-
This problem rather mysteriously disappeared. My suspicion is that I may have either had too many tabs open to other alerts in mid-configuration, or I had some other unfinished alerts configs that were in a state of limbo. When I went back in at a later time, I was prompted to resume an unfinished alert. Once I cleared…

Right! we have done the same but we get 2 alerts for application up and 2 alerts for application down. These 2 alerts have same details even the same time stamp.

I knew it was a n00b Q to ask.... Thank you very much it works a treat.
