  • I've already created custom node types so I can stop the alerts for the desktops. Creating a report based off of that, is a good idea, but I'm also looking for this to reflect in the graphs that are in the various views. Or if a custom view resource can be created that shows the network availability for specific node types…
  • I have already seen and thought about this option but it won't suit what I'm looking for. Since the scheduled unmanage stops monitoring altogether, I still the device monitored. I don't care if the workstation is restarted or shutdown, just don't need it to affect overall network availability.
  • You can't populate the Message field from SW, that's the issue. With SQL User Experience (or anything similar like WMI) it automatically populates the Statistic field with the returned value, but there is no option to populate another field/column for the Message. We're doing this so that raised alarms can include extra…
  • I just fixed my issue. And now that I think about it, I had this same issue with all my dell switches. I have my ${GlobalEnableLevel} set for <No enable Login>, I had to manually change my netscreen to <No Enable Login> for the enable level. As soon as I changed that I was able to download the config with no problem.
  • I have discovered that you are correct.... the instance that I am working with is 2008 R2, and the deadlock tab does not appear! Aagghh!. Can anyone offer advice on how to track down deadlock information without Solarwinds?
  • Hey fluffy midnight I just managed to import a ticket! opened it on excel saved as CSV made sure the format is correct and it worked! Now Imma try to import multiple tickets see if this will work or if its possible lol Appreciate your help!
  • Thanks for responding! That sounds like you will have to do that for each ticket? I will have to download the template, fill out the fields and then import ticket - is that correct? Apologies for the newbie Questions. Fairly new to this product
  • We're looking at the Hyper-V issue you mention.
  • We also use HyperV on a huge scale ( 18 HyperV hosts with 22 guests on each) ive been waiting over a year now for NPM and APM to work properly with HyperV (NPM doesn't register RAM in HyperV hosts properly, bug reported last year) but i have seen no improvements. My maintenance is due up early next year, if i don't see an…
  •  We're considering the same sort of support for Hyper-V in the future. It'll be determined by how broadly and quickly Hyper-V is adopted.
  • were you re-installing an old version? my problem is that i need to have the right installer... i.e. a 9.1SP3 installer, so the wizzard does not try and stamp all over the the database by backing out changes made at SP1,2 or 3... cheers dan
  • Not so much
  • Conclusion Solarwinds IPAM will save us a lot of work both now and in the future in terms of configuration and ongoing management as the integrations between the products and the infrastructure make it a powerful management/fault finding and project resource. PHPIPAM will require a lot more manual configuration and ongoing…
  • Thank you for the pointer, I'm planning on testing your suggestion today. My script is quite similar but does not use the archive command as we don't deploy the web server files. So far I've also a configuration change template for upgrading an Cisco ASA failover pair and should be working on NX-OS upgrade template in the…
  • Thanks for the reply and the suggestion, however I'm liking the interface for the configuration change templates and it's ability to help reduce configuration errors. Keeping scripts outwith NCM and having to load them for each execution really does not assist in this goal. Also I could very well end up allowing some users…
  • yes yes yes yes... please help us here.... i started a post last year where i was asking the community to fire in updates on what they deem as important systlogs and traps, so we could build a high level DB of what sysoogs mean what and whcih ones to alert on, but it did not really get any traction... it would be great to…
  • In 9.5, you will will be able to add all interfaces and mark them so that they show as "unplugged" rater than "down". Would that help?
  • Note that in 9.5, you can do rediscovery from the web. Go to web node management, select the node, and choose "more actions". Saves a step from having the RDP to the server.
  • Figuring out who the victim is makes it sound like one of those complicated cop drama shows where they try to demonstrate things are much more complicated than they seem Users (themselves or the machines) are also really hard to control and monitor thanks to scale and the human factor... even if they aren't the source of…
  • Just to be clear (in defense of un-named engineer) There was never any confusion over any of the data that we all commonly use to validate the health of the polling engines. My question meant to highlight the totals for those numbers that don't make any immediate sense to anyone and whose true meaning may be lost to the…
  • quote:Originally posted by aLTeReGo What type of log files are you talking about? Do you mean the Windows EventViewer logs? These log files are just text files. Not the event viewer files. These servers will create error files for each process. For ex: it creates adminnotify.log file with the following text: NotifyHndlrEvt…
  • Well that is a step in the right direction but not exactly what I need. I have been looking around and I don't think that I am going to be able to do what it is I want to do. If I could just get the multiple series chart to give me percent utilization for both in and out for a group of interfaces that would be exactly what…
  • I was afraid the answer would be to use Custom SQL Alerts, as I am not experienced using them..... If my group was called Citrix, how would this fit into your answer? Would Line 2, GroupName be Citrix? Would I need to find the GroupID to match the Citrix group?
  • Hi curtisi, Here are the following information: 1- LEM version: 6.1.0 LEM Reports: 6.1.0.2 Windows Version: 6.1.7600 2- Yes i have installed all the reports components as administrator. First as domain and then i even tried it with the local administrator. 3- I always run it as administrator. As i had seen in an earlier…
  • How many objects are you polling with the custom poller?
  • lchance, If you're polling Brocade's successfully, could you upload your pollers?
  • I agree with you and I was curious why SW didn't provide that to us an upgrade before releasing the standalone version. I know they are working on Cirrus v5.0 and I'm hoping and praying too that we see the NCM features in this version very soon. Hopefully, Denny can chime in on this and put us all at ease. Robert, Just to…
  • From Build > Groups. You can hit + to create a Connector Profile and use one of the agents that you've already fixed as the "Template", then add the other ones after you save it.
  • David I have this same problem - this after troubleshooting SNMP Trap Receiver in another one of my posts, as well as ticket # 25131. Some Basic Alerts are firing, others are not. Dec-05 16:20:03.82 : 7800 : Could not create Alert Action (SWAlertActions.EmailAction) Dec-05 16:20:03.82 : 7800 : Could not create Alert Action…
