dns resolution works fine with all my servers in Orion. The only place it doesn't seem to be working ids with the wireless clients under the wireless tab. Some of the clients show the correct dns, but most show only the access point node name as the client name?

this is what I'm seeing on my top 10 wireless...

Hmm that may do the trick... if you can point me to the post I'd appreciate it!

Thanks for the suggestions! You were right. Legacy variable name was the issue. Below worked like a charm: WhyReload: ${N=SWQL;M=SELECT n.NodeProperties.CiscoChassis.WhyReload FROM Orion.Nodes AS n WHERE n.Caption = '${N=SwisEntity;M=Caption}'}

*EDIT* - I tried to use the syslog viewer and I don't think that I'm explaining what we need properly. We are wanting to get an alert, inside SAM, similar to when a volume goes over a threshold. We would like to see this alert when our temperature drops below a specific degree. Is this possible through the application…

Thanks for reply, Actually i have opened support ticket and got reply to "Restart Orion Manager" and it fixed my issue.

Hi Any news regarding this? Last reply was one year ago. Regards Mikkel

We have taken note of your feature request. But I want to appropriately set expectations on how quickly we can make a decision. You posted this in February. Features are considered for major releases, not service packs. The current release has been in the works since early October, and at this point, we're just wrapping up…

Wait...are you talking about NTA or NetFlow Realtime in the Engineer's Toolset? If it's the latter, then it does monitor ingress and egress, but this is the wrong forum for that question.

Thanks for the reply Humejo, SWQL Query is beyond what I know at the moment.. Where would I be able to find the SWQL Studio? Maybe I can look up the syntax and try and use that in the Custom Query Resource. For the time being, I am using Orion report writer to create a custom alerts page per group. It doesn't have any…

Ahhh...the company I work for doesn't have a maintenance contract.

Thanks very much for your response - spot on. It appears this version is 5.4 so does not have the Node Health widget. V5.4 software and V5.5 documentation Thanks again.

Stephen, This will be useful when we get around to loading the maps for the various locations (across town from each other). You also showed me that I should be able to use grouping operators (parentheses) in things that are used for filters. That will be useful for some of the more complicated things that we have been…

My preference would be to use the pieces within Solarwinds itself and be able to build it without having to resort to a collection of SQL statements. What I started with is: I want to break it down into four groups, signifying different locations. The locations are es-dc, es-wc, ms, and hs, with a switch identified as bg*…

I have the interfaces showing by using InterfaceName Like statements connected by OR's. Is there a grouping operator, similar to parentheses, because I would like to take all those InterfaceNames that meet the first group of conditions and then only deal with the ones that are not up (Status<>1), then restrict to only…

I have a question about Down Interfaces in the NOC view. How do I get to where I can edit it to put the SQL query to restrict to certain locations? I do not see a place to edit the resource in the NOC view and restrict the items displayed. The original resource on the NPM summary page can be edited, the but the one for the…

That was easy enough! Thank you

bobmarley, I had thought about subdividing by locations, since that would at least give us screen sizes of one display, but hadn't completely decided how to divide a few items up. Thanks for seconding my viewpoint.

Thanks! I have fixed this issue. It was exit code issue.
-
I took out the ' ' It still Validated, but nothing yet on the alerts.
-
I cannot find the metabase.xml file. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
-
Wow, that just fixed my same type of issue after upgrading to NPM SP5... Thanks!
-
Yep, that what is so confusing. The query refuses to fire off an alert.

Its for cisco router

Thank you for your answer. But in this case, WHD will pick the email from the mailbox to which LEM is sending notification email and generates a ticket, right? Apart from this can WHD import all the NODES from LEM as we would like to define the contracts for each client and assign different privileges on WHD so manualy…

I don't think it's clear what the problem is. Why do you need custom bandwidth? Can you give readers more info than just this diagram?

Hi, Thanks for the answer, actually we might have found what's wrong. I upgraded the license on the NCM server using the license manager and everything went fine. I can see the new 3000 license installed. BUT when i open the license manager on the NPM server i also see the NCM license but the 1000 one this time. Should i…

i wonder how we get the SolarWinds guys to read this and get an RFE auto added to get this working.. seems like something that was overlook, rather than left out of the product on purpose
