Andrew, In regard to Step 3. What if your company did not purchase SQL Server 2005 and chose to go with SQL Server 2008? Is it feasible to upgrade 2000 directly to 2008? We are in the very early stages of planning the upgrade from 9.1 to 10.0 SP1. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

My objective was to have the ability to monitor my datastores sizes and performance, esxi host cpu and memory utilization...etc that kinda stuff by using the SNMP of vCenter. I am not necessarily interested in getting data about my VM's since I have SNMP on each of them already.

These are pretty old functions, I think they've been deprecated. They required some manual setup effort, too. As far as I know, you need to either use VMware HA or snapshots and manual "failover."

We should be able to add them to the existing connector if they are of interest - if you can provide an evtx either to me or file a support case we'll take a look. Chances are they were changed/added/improved in newer versions of Exchange and we just never had a request to pull them in.
