I would strongly recommend 8.1 (or 8.0 or 7.8.5) straight to 8.5.1. There's no value in the intermediate step.

On one PC that update option was grayed out. I just uninstalled and reinstalled the service and it started working correctly. I think on that PC someone with a different version had also connected and possibly goofed something up. Thanks for the suggestion, it worked.

I'm going to say yes as I am running SQL 2005 Enterprise 64bit SP3 on a seperate server and Orion appears to be fine since upgrading to 9.5.1.

We experienced the same problem and remove the 4 patches brought the web server back to life. Our custom map is missing, but at least we have the web interface working again. It's version 9.5.1 on Windows server 2003 (32-bit). I used both IE7 and FireFox 3.6.
