I have not found a solution for this issue. It moved lower on my priority list after I submitted it on Thwack. I am still interested in a resolution.

The feature is account-specific. If it's enabled for one user, you'll hear it. If it's not enabled for the other user, you won't hear it. We thought that was better than making it global.

I've captured this bug.

Hello- I agree with Troy. We went ahead and did that. For example, instead of plain old 'Custom Port Monitor', we changed it to 'Port 389-<name of our AD Server>'. This gives much better info to the NOC. Yes, some work in the beginning, but it's worth it! And on a side note, thanks SOOO much for posting this SQL statement!…

My top 5 1. Network Sonar - It doesnt do a DNS/SMB lookup so when i scan my network i have 6800 unidentified devices. 2. Network Sonar - A completed scan should allow you to expand identified device groups to view all the devices and their associated information. 3. Network Sonar - It would be helpful if you could assign…

have you tried entering the whole path to the executable with file extension? Thanks Questionario. I just added the path without extension and the login is now successful to the remote system but now get "Access is Denied." using a local account (with Administrator rights) on the remote system. The Windows event log…

Thanks very much that has worked a treat!

I'm starting my trial today.

You can use the the Universal Device Poller to monitor a lot of different values on an ESX server. It helps to know the OIDs in order to build the UnDPs, and you can find most of what's available from ESX here: http://www.oidview.com/mibs/6876/VMWARE-VMINFO-MIB.html

I'm definitely interested in support for both LWAPPs and the Cisco Wireless Controller series. We only use thick APs at our smaller branch offices... Great! So, what does "support" mean to you? What should we monitor? What data do you wan to see?

Pacetti, Yes, your solution worked. Thank you very much.

Just like you said, check alert every 1 minute and condition must exist for 5 minutes. The dependencies are in the correct order. Internal group of nodes is dependent on external firewall. Last night got alert for group is down and alerts for every node in that group when we lost connection to the firewall, and again when…

For some reason (Or someone's else's fault... ) I do not have the Alert me when any hardware... alert in my Advanced Alert list. Would it be possible for you to post it here so I can recreate it?

Good work! Would it be possible to get a snapshot of your screenshot's view source? I am curious on how to format the spacing, etc. Just blank out the sensitive stuff. Thanks

The data stored in LEM is not in a relational database. The LEM reports engine artificially uses SQL by virtue of pre-loading your selected timeframe into a small, temporary, relational database. You have to run reports from LEM reports because all of this pre-loading, selecting, and sorting is done via that communication,…

It's not in the most obvious place. Go to Additional Components > NPM Additional Components. It's the 4th item from the top.

I have tried to unmanage those interfaces but it seems that sometimes the automatic discovery "finds" those again and remanages those. So then we are back at the start. I'll go through those link and hope to find something usefull.

Well, I guess I'm somewhat lucky in that the database for the old system, and the actual install of NPM, were on two different servers. We've made a backup of the original database, that is still available. I am not familiar enough with SQL to extract the info for the Network Atlas. Is there a way to do this? Thanks for…

please please please add custom properties support to group dynamic queries! Even just adding custom properties per Component (desperately need) or Application (would be nice) would be a big bonus and seemingly easy to implement. Andy.

Ditto on AppInsight for Exchange, this would be huge for our team.
-
We'd love this feature too. Also, the ability to produce a report of all acknowledged alerts and who acknowledged them.
-
Thank you for the quick response, works a treat, no more alerts. Should have seen that ;)

This worked great ! The challenge for out DBA team will be to take the hostname and map it to the correct active directory domain so that they can grant the correct AD account database access. That's not your issue, that seems to be how Solarwinds stores and displays hostnames. I'm sure they'll figure it , perhaps using…

Is it possible to acknowledge an alert by replying to an email notification message?

Civil case. There will be no frying.

Hi Could you clarify whether it is possible to use the same database but on different servers ? As my DB is a remote DB, but I would like to use a different server for the UDT install, will there be anintegration between NPM and UDP then Thanks James

Thanks for updating. I'm guessing you ran into a known issue with 5.6 that we resolved in 5.7, you probably would have seen it if you searched historical data as well. Some of the widgets - the ones you highlight above - are actually driven from historical data, while others - the ones that were still drawing datapoints -…
