Hey Steven, Apologies for late response. The issue was the discovery path selected for the LDAP sync (User's DN) had incorrect path. Which caused only partial import excluding some of my user's in AD... Corrected the DN pulled all clients right way Looks a lot better now. Hope this helps someone .. Thanks for chiming in…

Darragh, This does explain why we are starting to see degradation in the program. We have hundreds of files all xreffed into a model. If the program then creates temp files as they are working, the system would slow down to some extent based upon the quantity of files being accessed. Thanks for the information. Mike

Yeah, this is how I finally accomplished it. I would have thought it would be easier - maybe in the next version. Thanks!

I get the same thing when I use a remote SQL server, have they issued an update, or is it something that you can stop when using custom install? Good job I took a snapshot of my VM 1st.

All those type of thresholds in NPM need changed to reflect context better. 1000 errored packets out of 10,000 is bad, out of 100,000 I don't care. But there is a gotcha with discards. Packets discarded due to QoS on a CISCO Router are represented in in/out discards. So you also need to know that a QoS policy is applied to…

Good deal ... thank you. Really appreciate the answer and your time.

Hi, and thank you for the reply. I’m only searching the application log, and have it set to that. Even using the entire event log source name, the events aren’t found. Is there anything else I can try?

You can make that change in the SCOM portion using the SCOM UI. It's not an Orion change.

I figured that. I really had hoped that they had built in some way into their software that they would use the IE Proxy settings, or at least be able to set the proxy port number. Unfortuately, the answer that support emailed me, which was "RTFM" (just a link telling me to read Appendix A in the manual), was not the…

Personally I get a little worried every time someone uses "shouldn't" in an answer to an upgrade question... I've looked for an upgrade guide for going from 10.x to 10.5, and I don't seem to see one. Is there such a thing?

Say..... when exactly do you plan to fix this issue? Its been around a long time.. and its not on the "things we are working on list".. =-) Im currently adding 200 nodes one by one.. (joy) oh yes and then i will go and edit the custom node properties. This should really be a simple process, import a list of devices and…

Thanks for help! * First:* Support told me about this it can be a problem of "Random Node Display in LEM" and they give me the URL: Random node displays in LEM - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support and disable the option of the connector "SecureAuth idP". * In the instruction said something check with nDepth the…

Thank you Jonathan. I have a few more questions below. 1) SFTP supports file transfer resume, it depends on the client ftp software for that, right? Serv-U would have nothing to do with the file trasfer resume if any breakage or network connection problem has encountered? 2) By using the HTTPS web interface of Serv-U, I…

yes seemingly all network maps. how do i manage permissions on maps?

Thanks, I will give that a shot.

To add, an OVA is really just a .tar file, so if you rename the LEM OVA to a .tar and untar (or, if you have better tar tools that let you untar even with out the .tar extension you might not even have to rename) you should get the vmdk. OR, you could use the Hyper-V VHD, too, I think AWS will pull VHDs directly. Step 4:…

At the end of the day, I ended up adding the more specific categories to NPM. I'm still curious to see how other people might be using custom properties to organize their nodes.
-
+1 definitely for event filtering. I would like to filter on any text.

We have a requirement to change to a non-standard ssh port. Thanks, Paul Vaysberg

Good Morning Shawn! So what does "purge database" exactly do? -FRA
-
Hello shawn_b! No the node is removed from NPM but not from NCM. What does the function "purge database" exactly do? Greets, -FRA

Thanks Jiri. We're running 7.2.2. We're hoping to test 7.3.1 soon. If the Baseline Entire Network job provided the ability to 'Choose Nodes' like you can do in Download Configs from Devices job, that would work. It would also be real helpful to have ability to import configs in bulk from an external share via the web gui.

The All Nodes AJAX resource doesn't support the variables. It's something we would need to add in a future release.

OK, so I've got a problem with the HTML I copied in... Of course I don't include all of the JavaScript that keeps the charts updated. So as the day has gone on, all other charts on this view have updated, but these are static...

Yeah, it seems like the general case is: in a perfect world, compliance doesn't make you more secure because you already are. But, in reality, compliance CAN make you more secure because you can't get budget/resources to be secure in the first place. Busy work yes, but not without actual value if you make a decent effort.…
-
That echoes what we've heard from other people, too, that compliance can get you budget that actually DOES make you more secure, so it's actually a good thing though maybe not in the way it was intended
-
That's a clear answer. Gives us another case for upgrading soon. Thank you for your help! Will upgrading also resolve the issue of AP's being incorrectly reported as down?
-
That sounds fun. The only thing better than one audit is many audits

Thanks, Jeffster, this is absolutely the right answer. Tool profiles were designed to do exactly this. As a bonus you can also use them in rules, filters, and searches, for refining stuff based on being a member of that group.
