I reported this same problem years ago and I don't know that it was ever resolved. Rick

I've already tried this setting and it's not working. Any other ideas?
-
But if a tech is an 'admin' wouldn't that have the same level of access as far as deletion of messages goes or not?

ET, I created a Basic Alert with these settings: - Property to Monitor > Node Status - Status - Monitored Network Objects > I selected one server - Alert Trigger > Trigger Alert when Status is "Unmanage" > Reset Alert when Status is "Up" - Time of Day > default - all selected - Alert Suppression > Do not configure Alert…

Have you each opened a Support ticket?

Please note the order of my replies in this thread are out of order. The explanation of why this happens to us makes sense and there is a way to get the false's cleared out so they don't come back
-
Got another email saying Edit your advanced alert and add the following trigger condition: Node/interface Status is not equal to Unmanaged I asked for the ticket to be escalated since NPM has never behaved like this for us.

Additional Web ServerBy adding an additional web server, the Orion website can run on a different machine than the Orion server. This enables more users to access the Orion web portal without affecting performance and provides increased scalability and deployment flexibility.

Hi MichalB, Thanks for the really quick reply. That's exactly what I was looking for and confirms I don't have so I will get the Hotfix and get it applied. Thanks and best regards, Martin

Thank you very much!

I see - thanks very much for the info.
-
Thanks, good to know. I have an open support ticket now so we'll see what comes of that. If I can, I'll post the results back here.

To clarify the uppercase/lowercase thing - it's critical that "cn" and "o" and then "CN" and "O" are case sensitive. Your OPSEC Name will likely be mixed case (whatever you configure on the CP side) and your server specific side is commonly lowercase. Most important that the CN/O cases aren't mixed, it causes weird issues…

not sure if this applies but 6500 series and even some before had multiple engines on them so they are multi-processor. Currently having issues monitoring each cpu on servers also under 8.5.1 sp3. hope that upgrading to 9.0 in the near future will resolve that for me.

Hi Richard, I looked at dbm_Pollers_DeleteOrphans, this is the sql in it: DELETE FROM Pollers WHERE (NetObject LIKE 'V%') AND (SUBSTRING(NetObject, 3, 10) IN (SELECT VolumeId FROM DeletedVolumes)) DELETE FROM Pollers WHERE (NetObject LIKE 'N%') AND (SUBSTRING(NetObject, 3, 10) IN (SELECT NodeId FROM DeletedNodes)) From the…

Thank you for the response Richard. I checked the database via SWQL today morning and I found that the node pollers have been deleted. However, the volume and interface pollers are still there. Is the stored procedure supposed to delete all poller types or just the node ones? Any ideas how I would go about debugging this…
-
I guess I wasn't. That is very helpful. Thank you!

I was looking at that thread. Everything looks okay. I have SAM 5.0, we have 64bit pollers enabled, The only thing I am un-sure about is where in AD can check for this group? Organization Manager

This request is something we've heard often enough that we are trying (although, as always, I make no promises) to get into Orion 9.0.
-
Yeah, what Joe said.

Addt'l Poller <--> Orion Platform: TCP 17777 (SW Information Service) the port 17777 is open of the Addional Poller ?

I've been searching for an update to this topic. Was a workaround ever identified? If not, was this ever added as a feature?
-
Almost. Move far away from "write to config to NVRAM after upload". Next to it would be better than directly below.
-
Ah yes.... another reason to upgrade...... Thanks!

Hello, thank you for the reply! 1. This was a new fresh installation. It's using sha1 not MD5. 2. I changed /etc/hosts file, still cannot link NPM with Vman. 3. Windows firewall was disabled from the start. I have a ticket open for this, sent them diagnostic info and waiting on a reply. If you have anything else for me to…

Jeff (above) is right. We can't support an unreleased OS. You could run toolset in a virtual machine running XP? Isn't that a feature of Win7?
-
Unfortunately, the beta is closed. We will release the GA version later this month.
