Hi, currently it’s set to component. The variable isn’t available. What property do I select, to make the variable available? I’m unable to import the alert code below. I get an Unable to import the alert error. Regards, Wes

Correct - at a minimum I want to know if there is an answer from the number dialed. If feasible perhaps I could gather other data from the device as well. I'd then like to take further action based on the result, such as clearing the alert, updating device properties, sending an email to specific people, updating an…

Here is a good source for the different time frame selects: http://databaseadvisors.com/pipermail/dba-sqlserver/2003-September/001109.html ***snippet of my SQL report, which calculates 2hrs Utilizations for the Last Month -- Reporting time frame - Last Month -- ReportPeriod specifies for which month the report should be…

Not a problem , i could figure it out myself..quote:Originally posted by pjb I have a bunch of Fortigate firewalls, and have created templates for them if anyone has the same. Depending on the model you have, change the SystemOID. 100 = 1.3.6.1.4.1.12356.100 1000a = 1.3.6.1.4.1.12356.10001 3000 = 1.3.6.1.4.1.12356.30000…

I saw read that earlier, and reading material the past few days, I will use what I have already planned on above (which I got from the document you provided). I just watched a webcast on Advanced Alerting and that helped clear things up.

Just it case this somehow happened to any of you like it did me. I had a problem with the service stopping. I took a look in Services and the service startup was set to manual for some reason.

I let the response window at 5mins and the device and LEM (virtual appliance) are using the same NTP server. - How can I check that LEM is in sync with the NTP server? - I couldn't find a cli command or a menu in the GUI to verify this.. The correlation is very simple, I choose UserLogonFailure.DetectionIP = 172.20.154.* 2…

Does this work with the latest update, update 55? Also we use 64 bit windows with 32 bit java so which one would I use?

Thank you for the reply, Jeremy. I am able to configure the Access Points via SSH/command line for SNMP but when they reboot(from power outage or getting hung up), they receive the default settings(no SNMP) from the Controller in which you cannot change. I was hoping a newer software version for Cisco Wireless LAN…

Does Orion NPM 9 auto discover and add new interfaces to managed devices? This is a feature that has been provided by MRTG for years.
-
Yann, We just upgraded this past weekend from 8.5.1 to 9.1 SP4 and our nodes show as 'Node Details - "Node Name" - Virtual Machine, host unknown". What is causing this?
-
You might look at SolarWinds LANsurveyor. www.solarwinds.com/.../index.aspx It's a network mapping and visualization tool. It can automatically discovery new devices at they're added to your network. You can then add those discovered items into Orion. The process is manual at the moment, however.

Unfortunately in the recent revisions of Solarwinds, I can't seem to embed the new graphs as they seem to use some sort of chart reference which works on the preview, but will not work once another graph has been pulled. Unless someone has a suggestion for that? The link above was from the 8.x version of Orion (and works),…

Yes, I do. This is the admin account I'm using. I have THWACK as a seletable thing in the menu up top of the screen and that work. It's the embedded links within the webpage that seem to fail all the time. Thanks

Hi Chris, All servers are virtual with all volumes including C: located on SAN. I'll take a look at your template - many thanks for posting that. :) Graham

Thanks for the quick reply! I have now configured SNMP and can connect to the server via it. I know it's workin because it returns info such as the contact detail sthat I entered in the SNMP service on the server. However, it still does not display any disk info. Do I need to add a template for this? **Edit** Now working!!…

Where? I believe I can see the ack on the active alerts but once the item is no longer down or otherwise where can I go to locate the ack? Thanks

I will give it a try thank you

This would be viable if they hired a few more people to my team. for now, managing individual accounts is not feasible, especially given the volatility of our organization. It would become a full time job in short order as employees and contractor cycle in and out of teams. By using security groups that another team…

Hi kstone, thanks for your answer. Not in a separate table, only in a separate column.. I just want an additional field "EventID" in the table, and split up the MsgText, or just copy the EventID from the MsgText, in this separate field. Found this similar question, where you already answered:…

Hi All, I am sure that you have moved on, but I wanted to post on this article. We ran into a similar problem when building the SNMP monitoring software for www.ServerSilo.com . I browsed all of the net for a solution (including this forum post) and couldn't find one. After quite a bit of troubleshooting, we opened a case…

Hi, * Support for BackupExec and vSphere is not up to date or feature rich and has always lagged behind. * Support for out of band systems such as Dell DRAC etc. * Feature expansion with SQL and Exchange. Thanks

Keep in mind that Orion 9 will provide a much more powerful custom poller. That new poller will support MIB tables, which will allow you to get key wireless stats with just core Orion.

Hi Steve Is this assuming you have the Engineers toolset installed locally on your desktop ? As I dont seem to have any of these files in the location you mentioned. Our configuration is we have a couple of servers classed as jump servers, where engineers will access to use the Engineers toolset as these systems have…

Hi Evan, Do your logs rotate after a retention period? I will have a review of the admin guide regarding deployment. Thanks for your prompt response.

Has there been any updated information on the inventory issue that you guys are experiencing? I currently have 300 nodes that need to be inventoried but Cirrus only make it to about 10 nodes then locks up. Any advice on this would be appreciated Thanks! Victor

That looks like just the thing. But I don't see that option in SAM Settings. What version are you running?
