Your question isn't clear. I think that's why no one has replied. Could you provide a lot more detail of what you want to accomplish?

response below: If you go to C:\Windows\System32 (or SysWOW64)\ContegoSPOP and look at the SPOPLog.txt, what (if any) messages are there? See below If you do an nDepth search for AnyAlert.DetectionIP = *(Your Server)*, do you get any results? No results Do you see the node in Monitor, but disconnected? The node does not…

Thanks for the suggestion - I just tried that and same results, no sound. With that thought in mind I thought I would try as a domain service account and tested - same thing, sends the email but no sound. Here is the Test Log 3/13/2008 5:42:12 AM: Initiating test for alert High Temp. 3/13/2008 5:42:12 AM: Retrieved 2…

Using the latest Serv-U software I was able to get the command line parameters to work correctly. Thanks!

david, i had the same experience as you i have a call open with solarwinds about it even now about the performance issues I have a thread running on here about missing polls ever since the upgrade I fear now that for some reason, the antivirus software appears to be wholly incompatible with the 10.1 when real time scan is…

Thanks for the response. I am installing on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 SP2, i couln't find this "premission checker" , maybe this error prevents from fully installing all the required files.

Ice, what we are finding is that when I check the bandwidth setting for a Cisco tunnel it is set to 0.1 by default. I am not sure how this gets set. We have to go back in and tweak it to 100 and then we get proper readings.

Thanks for the KB but we already run the Alert service using a service account (so it can execute remote scripts on systems, etc.). I know that works but I think the problem 'might' be the hostname......

Where do I go to get this section? Is this editable via the webpage or do I need to log on the server?

It has to be directly connected to the STM by SSH and not through the agent and SMI-S will not work on the CELERRA NX4 AX4-5f8

+1 here too

That OID did not work for my PRI T1 lines but this post did. cdspTotalChannels (1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.86.1.2.1.1.6), should provide all channels on a given PRI. cdspInUseChannels (1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.86.1.2.1.1.7), should provide all used channels on a given PRI. cdspActiveChannels (1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.86.1.2.1.1.8), should provide all…

Thanks Garreth, Good point this was the AIR console, but I tried it with the Web console as well this morning and I'm getting the same results. The filter is exactly the same as the security events filter. I can see events counting up in the "factory" filter but not in mine. Again, I can add items to group for my filter…

Thanks! that seemed to show me what I want to see for the most part. the only thing I can't figure out how to change in the report is to show total down time instead of percent down. Idealy I would like to see the total hours/minutes the site was down last month. Maybe that requires an advanced SQL report?

Huh... good call. Yes, I'm logged in via AD with full admin rights and no view limitations, but when I log out and log back in with the local admin account I can see the reports. Maybe a bug in the AD integration?

Lawrence, I discussed this with the powers that be, and we've decided to do as you suggested and turn this into a procedure thing rather than a tech problem. Unlike what I suspected, the WSUS box in the DMZ wasn't immediately dismissed, but given that only one of the laptops is a part-time remote user, we decided that it…

Very weird. Works in MSIE but not in Firefox. There's a small white circle that appears where the "Add New Group" button should be. It's usable, but bizarre. Thanks very much for your help!

No. We continue to get event id 364 when trying to access our whd externally and I don't know why or what. To my knowledge the adfs/adfs proxy servers exists due to using office 365 several years ago, but we no longer use it with adfs. Internally, everything works fine. Also, using or not using a verification certificate…

We support both MS Virtual Server and VMware Server. We do most of our testing on virtual machines. A large number of Orion customers use virtual machines. You need to ensure that the virtual machine has the same memory and CPU capacity as a physical machine.

The only downside I've found with v8 is that Solarwinds have dropped development of load balancer add-on which allowed you to easily move device from one poller to another now you have to do it through the database manually. We discontinued some "additional components" that are now built into the product. Which component…

Hi ZibaK, Would you mind posting here the ticket number? Thanks!

Hey Phil, just to give you some ammo if you don't already have it, the default root password is UNIQUE per LEM appliance and encoded in the "product key". So yes, they can't access or change it, but it's NOT a global password that every LEM install shares, and the key is generated using unique factors to your environment…

Cheers glad it is on the roadmap

Hi bkyle. Sorry I should have mentioned this in the initial post. This is for a large monitor mounted on the wall, so tabbed browsing isnt really going to help us. Any other methods?
-
Thanks a ton, I hadn't seen the admin guide, I'll be sure to read most of it!

I ended up calling support, and they had told me that it was probably because of my secondary poller as well. They showed me how to exclude the components, as opposed to the whole node, but I am not at all satisfied with that answer/solution. Just for kicks and grins, I moved the nodes to the primary polling engine, and…

Thank you for the reply. I am working to create custom alerts for selected traps. I can create the alerts, but they keep disappearing. I'm not sure if it is due to reset actions, orphan cleanup or something else. So I'm trying to work my way through the process.

I almost replied to a post from a gazilion years ago.. shame on me!!!
