  • However, the downside is this... There is a glitch in 8.5 where the Account Limitation Builder is not working with the website. They are working on a HotFix. I was told that would be out by the end of this week, but only one more day to go, so hopefully really soon. We are working on a hotfix (which is giving a bit of…
  • Until the next upgrade......
  • Hello, These compatibility charts are very good. However, could you expand on the column that says "Discovery"? What does that mean? If there is a "No" in that column does that mean that SolarWinds can't auto discover the device? Hollis Frost Software Engineering Trusted Network Solutions Raytheon Company (business)…

  • I don't understand your question. What are you trying to do?
  • Speaking of AddInterfaceToNode... (or, AddInterfacesOnNode in this case;) Does the body / payload for AddInterfacesOnNode look like this [when doing a REST call]? { 256, [ { "ifIndex": 83886080, "Caption": "mgmt0 · MGMT:descriptionText", "ifType": 6, "ifSubType": 0, "InterfaceID": 0, "Manageable": true, "ifSpeed": 0 },{…
  • You mean the same server on what the LEM appliance is running? We have 3 or 4 Hyper-V hosts on which we have several servers running as VM's. What i want is a possibility to monitor the hosts only. Get a notification if a VM is down.Is there a way to this?
  • We are running SQL 2008 on Windows Server 2008 R2 x64, and our Solarwinds NPM box is also Server 2008 R2 x64. The SQL server seems pretty happy most of the time and we haven't had any real performance issues on that device.
  •  Sam, I've entered them in our bug tracking system, so from my p.o.v., it doesn't matter where they are on Thwack. Given that info, if you still want it moved, we can move it.
  • Nandish, I understand I can create UDPs and know how to create them very well. The point was to solicit the community to see if anyone had already gone down this road and created any optical UDPs using these MIBs and not have to start from scratch (i.e., Why reinvent the wheel?). In that my post has gone unanswered, I will…
  • Not with in a 24 hour period, but how many previous alerts were sent pior to the current alert being sent out before its been cleared(weather on its own or someone acknowledges the alert to stop any future alerts.) Let me know if that explains things better.
  • Definitely agree - this sounds right up LEM's alley.
  • Ok. This leads me to the next question.... if I have over 600 devices that the captions are FQDN either I have to manual tweak them all (which if there is an easy way then I will do it) or is there a way to strip off the FQDN prior to sendin the alert?
  • This is a feature I would love to see as well. I am the new network engineer for an electricity generation company in Australia and have previous (good) experience with the Solarwinds range of products. From my understanding Netflow exports ToS data and if this was captured by NTA (as it is with some other netflow analysis…
  • Michael - the error was Access Denied, so networking was fine it was just the permissions. aLTeReGo is on the right track and this is what we see with WMI as well. I was hoping with RPC we could set different permissions but it must use the same model. Altering the DACL is a real P.I.T.A when you have 10+ services over 30+…
  • If your still interested, I've done kind of the same thing. While we can't see the tags for the individual conversations, we are able to monitor the total amount of traffic of specific tags. This will at least let you know if you're crossing your CIRs. Here's the infor from the other post:…
  • Sorry, they do not support the installation of NPM, you should be able to use SNMP to monitor them, you just need the credentials to log into a Admin account. If not, you can use ICMP pings to check if the node is up or not. I am also a newbie to this but that is how I had to monitor our 2003 server until we change it out;…
  • The steps that Solarwinds Support provided got me up to 3.5.1 . Thanks Ashley in Tech Support.

  • I had to uninstall twice before it would install correctly for me. Then once it finished, it found its key without a problem BUT it was like starting from a fresh install for the most part. I had to tell it where to find its database all over again. Then it picked up some things like the last passwords and SNMP stuff but…

  • shewww, I thought it was just me. Can I recommend that when a new version comes out the setup file name follows the version number. Example V3.5 = SolarWinds-Cirrus-V3.5DL500 Example V3.5.1 = SolarWinds-Cirrus-V3.5.1DL500

  • I've tried twice now. I get the option of "modifying, repairing or removing" the program. I don't see anything I can add to modify it and when it finishes, it looks exactly the same as before. Oh, it still says 3.5 for a version AND it still has the same problem I had before that they have suggested I upgrade to fix. -Steve

  • I could be missing something but it says just to run the setup file. I have done this and noticed no change in the product version. Does this upgrade change the prodcut ver. under the help tab? Should I be doing Modify, Repiar??? It acts like I'm almost installing the same version.

  • This is resolved now. I follow altergo's instructions and if worked perfect. Funny enough, I installed exchange using the the CU3 update like Justin and it does not come with this counter. I had to get it from the original install DVD. Thanks everyone for the help and responses.
  • I am using SAM currently. Our intera. sites are using MSIE 6.0 and the external one's are using MSIE 9.0 and can recognize a few other agents. The external sites are usig an anti-bot script that I believe is detecting our current SAM config as a bot and will not allow access to the site. I'm new. I hope that makes sense.
  • I do not see this option mentioned above. I can only edit the application template for AppInsight for Exchange as far as I can tell and there doesn't seem to be a way to disable it. Thank you for the reply.
  • No support at this time. We haven't made any firm decisions about whether to extend support to Aruba. Denny, is Aruba support in the plans yet? In v9 hopefully? We also are primarily an Aruba shop and the Wireless module has been pretty much useless?
  • Talk about timing.... I just asked Josh Stephens (head geek) on a teleconference a few minutes ago - the answer was no. He said the reports were strictly tabular.
  • I want to have an alert when the node is down. When i select property to monitor: Node; i dont have the option for Node Status is equal to Down. I'd like an alert for when a node is down.
