I don't know what a UnDP chart is, so I am guessing I just made the poller. Can I make a chart?
-
Is there a script that I can use while waiting for APM 3.0 to come out?
-
Right.. and area chart.. I sent the post to fast.. I was really looking for something other than these options but after thinking about this there are really a limited amount of ways you can display this kind of data.

Cha-Ching! 286 devices in 67 minutes. No idea why it would hang up on this router or others for the MIB mentioned above. Hopefully I fair well overnight.

hi there the problem i havce is that we have to use a team email address when logging calls as we move about a lot so we all deal with all calls if you know what i mean. when solarwinds sends an email to our group email, the exchange forwards that onto the members of th team. that means when i hit reply, all i see is…

just the usual through customerportal http://www.solarwinds.com/customerportal/customerhome.aspx

Lawrence, you're going to grow to hate my environment before too long. I've only approved the x86 packages. The Full Install package is detecting as NotApplicable for computers that do not have update 51 already. The Upgrade package is only showing as NotApplicable if they never got Java 7 in the first place, which is what…

My chart cache timeout is 30 minutes, my map cache timeout is 600 seconds and my report cache timeout is 600 seconds. Also no anti-virus running on either of the servers.

Hi Milan this works fine for 'normal' reports - but it doesn't work for SQL reports Thomas

I know the challenges with the wireless module will not likely be overcome overnight but its been several months since ive bugged you about what sort of direction SW would be considering with future wireless module revisions. Any chance you could offer any hints as to what is being considered??

Yes the three nodes I received e-mail alerts about use SAM monitoring for the SQL databases. It does appear that there are problems on these nodes so I will disable the application monitoring until I can find out what is going on, hopefully that will stop these errors. Thanks
-
I cannot be sure when this occurred a user who receives alerts noticed it. I'll keep an eye on it and when I do any server reboots or service restarts i'll see if it happens again. I was hoping someone may have seen this before and would know a definitive answer to the "Never" location.

Glad to help. And when in doubt, you can also check the Library & Support Page. Lots of useful resources there.

I don't have NTA. Can the view.asp file be applied to Orion v7.8.5 to improve loading?
-
Yes, we are that predictable. What qle said.

yeah i saw a webpage that said this also on the Solarwinds site thing is that if you add the .2 to the end of the OID then the UDP doesnt pull the table and returns nothing so I am still looking on this. interium fix has been to have it pull the table then select the line you want from the graph and turn the others off. my…

LOL... in the years of using Orion, i have never seen the NONE option, what a dufus i am LOL... i will have a play... i am not fond of the supression tab as i can not get my head around how it works, and if it adds unnecessary CPU overhead... i will try your method which is brilliant... and simple
-
that is a good idea, but i shyed away from it as my interfaces table is thousands, so this woudl be a mighty task. in the end, i went down the supression TAB route. I have not have much success with supression tab before, but it seems to be working on this... i have a very good alerting structure build for thsi particular…

I guess I should have mentioned we have two pollers that are replacing the two HPOV's, each already in production covering 1200 nodes 80/20. Unfortunately we don't manage the network devices, we just monitor so NCM is out. We did look at pushing the change via GPO though with 30-40 domains that don't have full trusts setup…

The SNMP poller is not multi-threaded, so multiple CPUs won't directly impact performance. To the extent that there are other processes sharing resources on the Orion server, however, there would be indirect benefits. As to the future, if we were to re-write the poller, we would almost certainly make it multi-threaded. Do…

Is there an update on this. Nearly 5 months later and we also are awaiting a permanent fix.
-
Yes I am using port 80 and tried both 80 and 443 as mentioned in my first post.

Try removing the Wscript.Quit lines. The exit code determines if it is up or down, and the statistic code is used with thresholds, so removing the quit line should prevent any messages like that. Edit: Actually for that script it looks like it also uses the exit to break the loop, so perhaps to be safe replace…

John, Thank you, we found the new instructions yesterday and got the system integrated. I had not had time to come back and update. Thanks for taking a few minutes to reply to my question.
-
Hi, Thanks for your response. I've recreated the scheduled inventories as per the following kb: http://knowledgebase.solarwinds.com/kb/questions/4052/The+Patch+Manager+console+shows+different+computers+under+Managed+Computers+and+Update+Services It seems to have done the trick. Cheers

Thanks a lot for your response :-)

thanks I wasn't looking in the customer portal I was looking in the DPA product! Thanks for your help!

In my role, I'm strictly an administrator and we have a team that creates and manages SSIS jobs, so unless we run out of disk space or memory, I don't care if a job fails. I don't want to have to drill down into each server just to find that it's critical because a job failed 3 days ago. I'd rely on Solar Winds more if…

Hi Superfly, Unfortunately you can't actually - here you can only configure: a) How long to keep uncompressed data for - default is 60 minutes, max = 240 minutes. This is the 1 minute data from what I understand b) Keep compressed data for - default is 10 days, max = configurable. This is the 1 day data There isn't a way…
