Simple example is Netbios broadcast traffic.

We do have a separate SQL box with SCSI drives and 4G of Memory. After reviewing some of the forums I've noticed several others are having similar issues. I have temporarily stopped Netflow, to keep Orion from slowing down. Our SQL server became unresponsive while Netflow was running. I spoke with Solarwinds support…

Me, too! Seriously, it's a good suggestion. It's on the list.

Wow.. I did in fact totally miss that. I must have somehow unchecked. So I fixed that issue but am now receiving the following errors when attempting to run. However, the exe I have pushed installs, then it errors out when it gets to running the batch file in the packageboot XML. I have also approved for a test group and…

You can get the link for an unofficial Hyper-V LEM download from SE or Support, who will clarify the expectations for you. Officially, this is something we are working on, and are getting closer to releasing. We're getting close to RC and will send out a call for participation pretty soon. If you can't wait, say, a few…

We already have it enabled. I just need to generate a report to give to our security team. I can't figure out how to edit the existing reports to only show me internet traffic. -Marc

Great! Thanks for the query wluther. Are you running 11.5? I don't see the NodesData table in 11.0.1. Is this the Nodes table in 11.0.1? If I interpret your query properly, all nodes in the NodeProperties table are Licensed by NCM, correct?

Service packs are different for Eval and Production. You are trying to install the eval version of the SP onto a licensed version of the product. You can download the production version of SP here:

This has not been resolved yet. Unfortunately our maintenance contract expired last month and I am still waiting on the approval for the renewal to come through. Thanks

I like the greenish touch behind the desk.

I found the trigger above missed a few in my case, so i modified it a bit see what you think. Trigger condition: WHERE ( (DATEDIFF(mi, Nodes.LastSystemUpTimePollUtc, getutcdate()) > 5) AND Nodes.Status = '1' AND Vendor NOT LIKE 'Unknown ) OR ( Nodes.Status = '1' AND Vendor NOT LIKE 'Unknown' AND LastSystemUpTimePollUtc IS…

Thanks for your reply. I will do this. Now moving on to Sharepoint alerts... Thanks, DS

Hello, first of all thanks for your answer. Basically I used the described approach and it works. Some things are not really, so VMWare is reporting flows from interface which are not really used by any VM, and as it can not be monitored via SNMP the status of the interfaces is "unknown". As the databases needs to be…

the server that your using to send emails would have to have a smart host entered as [10.0.0.1] (your exchange servers IP) with the square brackets.

The device is a Dell EqualLogic Storage Array I have used a custom device template and everything works, eg connecting and logging in with the exception that it errors when awaiting to enter enable mode which it cant because the CLI does not have an enable mode.

I have netflow and QoS configured on the router. I've now enabled the polling at NTA. I noted in Manage Sources that I could check the CBQoS boxed which were grayed out. And now it's reporting! Thank you.

Regarding Orion version 8.1: As an add-on module, I'm assuming that the new Windows Event Log forwarder will support x64 OSs as well as x64 versions of .NET? Currently, either the x64 OS, or the x64 .NET do not allow installation of the event log forwarder on such a machine.

Thanks mesverrum, I checked out the samplicator and though I haven't had time to lab it up it seems that will address my requirement. Additionally apparently I hadn't had enough coffee the day of my original posting.......I see now that I can simply institute flexlible netflow and assign multiple exporters to a single…

Yes I did, the xls works much better than the csv. I had been a little trigger happy with this post. It took a few hours to figure out but I got it by the end of the day.

In response to question 3: Most useful report would be a Top QOS Queue Discards report and TOPx Interface by Queue type.

Tried to figure out what book is that, and, obviously, googling "books with the noun life in the title" didn't help.
-
I guess it'll be included into the next update then. Do you have an idea around what time this will be the case ?

Thanks for the quick response. I understood the solution you suggested. But I'm facing problem in connecting to SQL server from SWQL studio. I tried connecting to the SQL server using the SWQL studio but I'm getting the following error.

Like taking your car to the shop... it didn't fail last night (guess I scared it by posting on Thwack!). I will see what I can get next time it fails (3x this week so far). As for the screen shot - no. It is on a dedicated network so I can't move it to the other network. I will try to see how much detail about the url, etc…

Home office or game room?

Thanks. That worked.

hi there it is an additional poller (i have 6 of them) Initially i did not have the ipsla module installed onto the poller, but i soon realised that when discovering operations, it used to crash. However, now i have around 450 nodes added to this poller, and i have IPSLA probes deployed to 7 of them I have added all 7 of…

Hey, We're seeing issues with browsers locking up when trying to view any of the new interface improvements (search by Application Name etc). Tested with IE8 and Chrome. Jason

Has no affect.

Oh yeah I never think to look at the database as my first option. Anyways that worked. Thank you!
