Any additional thoughts on this? Is it possible, or do I need to wait on an update?

Hey patriot, Have a look at this article on CBQoS monitoring: Intro to CBQoS Monitoring - Videos | SolarWinds . Hope it helps. You might also check the Library & Support Page for NTA for other useful KBs and docs: NetFlow Traffic Analyzer (NTA) - Updated December 12, 2014.

Thanks!

That's fine for the ones that can and custom code that programmers have been smart enough to handle such. Will have to work around I guess.

Hi Brandon, Will there be server agents available soon for monitoring? We are finding the SNMP agents on servers to be unreliable, especially on unix and linux platforms. When evaluating the profiler product I assumed that agents would be coming soon as the profiler requires agents on servers. Thanks, Chris.

Nope - the engine is stopped and doesn't prompt to delete it. I moved the nodes (two)...

I asked some of our experience Support folks, and here's what I got. What he already mentioned is the best practice, but I would not recommend going into the engines table, and deleting the old engine id. I would recommend doing a new install of the main Orion, and all of the modules he has purchased. Once that is done,…

I get it now. Thank-you. Is there a map similar to the North America map that just has the USA? The scale of having all of North America makes it hard to place everything in say California appear distinct.

Hi Richard, I am having the same issue. When I create a node via the REST api it does not poll and the node details panel is empty. I tried adding the properties that you had outlined in your previous post but I could not via the REST api. I kept getting 400 - Bad Request, so I finally commented out those properties and…

I just uploaded it. Name "Cisco Temperature in Celcius".

Thanks a lot for the information! That worked perfectly. I guess in my frustration I completely missed that option.

I think they just want up-to-date information. This would only apply to WAN interfaces.
-
Thanks for the clarification. It doesn't state this anywhere, or at least it's not obvious. This info was on old Web help desk download page.

Yes, but that is only by the status, not the "Is Retired" setting on each status. For example say we have these four statuses Deployed, Available, Defective, Recycled. For the Defective and Recycled statuses we set the "Is Retired" setting to true. It seems odd that there would be a flag here to set a status as "retired"…

Where did you find the information for what fields to put in the XML?
-
I tried that, but when run I dont get any data in the report at all. below is what I am running as the Report: SELECT Nodes.NodeID AS NodeID, Nodes.Caption AS NodeName, Nodes.VendorIcon AS Vendor_Icon, Nodes.IP_Address AS IP_Address, Nodes.MachineType AS Machine_Type, Nodes.IOSVersion AS IOS_Version, Nodes.IOSImage AS…

I know this question is a couple of months old- but I thought I would share this with you: OnPage and Solarwinds have just announced the integration of their products- check out the post below. The integration makes it easier for Solarwinds users to route their critical alerts to the dedicated OnPage app on their smart…

Sure would like to hear back from the PM on these features.

What we've done is just add a custom property to the nodes (ModifiedBy) and have made it part of the 'process' when adding node in the web console the engineer has to put their name in that field. I'd like this to be auto-populated with the user's orion credentials (whether local or pass-through).
-
Stacy, Are you using Orion 9.0? With Orion 9, you can make multiple changes via the web UI. You can also change the DB without stopping the poller.
-
because i have plenty of nodes and it requires much time to add them in atlas. everyone who build up huge network using 1000 nodes, does they add each nodes by hand? i want to do it automatically. i thought about arrangment of Vlan, and guess that if i would create samples how to be arranged(for example ten switch) and…

Thank you! I wanted to do this anyway, but we want to monitor it from a single location in our Datacenter, wich is not possible as per your answer.

ok so if we have the vman vm running and our security scan tool calls out 130+ vulnerabilities, that are on the vman vm. option 1 would be to remove the vman vm from the scan...( the vman vm itself is running on our interior network and is behind at least 2 fw and a dmz). what would option , option3, etc be?
-
this is correct, I don't see any content of the subnet when imported from a spreadsheet; however, if manually create the subnet, the content is populated, unless deliberately have the "Add IP Addresses with the subnet" box checked off.

I've just installed 8.5.1 EVAL with "update" and added custom pollers, the same problem exists... Custom mib pollers working fine when hitting the "test" button but showing "no data" on the website. rgds Dave

Thanks for the reply David. The columns are both identical in width, both are 550. This problem would appear to be intermittent about 2 hours after posting this it started to work. Another member of the team reported this error this morning, so I will ask him to keep and try the above if the error returns. Regards,

The problem appears that my linux box does not have a mib file loaded and I can't seem to find that file. I would suppose as well that the snmpd.conf file would have to be edited to see the mib file as well

Thanks thats good advice!

Interesting, point. Thanks for your input. Seems When I switched to either Ingress or Egress view, the utilization was correct. With both selected, the utilization was a combination of the two.

Yes, I know that can be done. But what I am asking is what compliance standards like PCI/SOX/FISMA has to say about the broadcast traffic. Does it require to store all kind of traffic whether its broadcast/unicast/multicast traffic for a specific time period to meet the compliance standards?
