Rmorton, many thanks for your reply. NPM 10.1.3 is currently being used and to change the version would require a full change control procedure. Is there a way where I can trigger an alert if the table returned by the universal device poller has changed?

Orion comes with a Trap Server. www.solarwinds.com/.../wwhelp.htm APM has built in templates for monitoring lots of applications. See here for more detail. www.solarwinds.com/.../wwhelp.htm We also have some videos here that might be useful: www.solarwinds.com/.../tech_talks.aspx

This request falls in with the funtionality mentioned above, however, currently when a node has a high latency rate that exceeds the threshole the node is still green... Having the ability for it to be orange and then eventually red based on configured thresholes is essential. Currently a node show green even if it's in a…

Thanks for you response, That does work, the IP and the hostname (FQDN) is reflected in the DNS field. However it only returns around 900 results, whereas if I scrape all of the DHCP servers in our organisation, there are around 30000 entries, and the IPAM report shows around 24500 entries. Perhaps I just don't understand…

That makes perfect sense!

May another oversight be the possibility to set a custom property in advanced alerts? It's also on the list to be added in adv. alerts.

LGarvin, Understood and agreed. I beleive I could have been a little clearer in my earlier post. My point is that this update should be applicable to both existing system and per user installs (I am deducing this from the description stating that it will remove per user installs... is this not correct?). However, the…

Yo T, (or anyone who can answer this!) I am also writing C# code to acknowledge alerts but plan on using the REST API. I've got the following two Uri's as possibles, but according to the documentation, Orion.AlertStatus has TWO Ack verbs.…

Okay, I suppose I can make an alert that will exclude the wacky values that the OID is giving me back. I have the Health Stats pollers already in there (thanks). I'll see what I can arrange maybe get what I need from them.... Thanks.

I would recommend starting with the Quick Start Guide and videos. After deploying the LEM virtual appliance, you install agents to your servers and workstations, syslog your networking devices to the LEM appliance, then configure what you want to monitor, when you want to get notified, etc. Quick Start Guide Videos: Tour…

Crashed again, 5 days after the last time. Faulting application NetPerfMonService.EXE, version 7.6.0.1, faulting module SNMPv7.dll, version 7.1.0.21, fault address 0x0000bbd5.

Not only did I lose my groupings it only shows me the default groupings - my custom properties don't show in the drop down list anymore. I wil have to dig back through my tech support emails to see how to fix that.... One step forward, another two back, :(

Hello Marc, Thank you for the information! This is what we expected but wanted to review if we had missed something. Regards, Luke

There is a built-in resource called Nodes by Type that does what you're looking for, I think.

What if removing that directory (and then doing an iisreset ) doesn't get rid of the tab ? I already did the uninstall via the control panel. Thanks, Doug

Awesome! That's what I was looking for! Thanks Tom. This has really made my day. But, I would note, it would be good to have the source and target addresses made available in the Advanced section in the Define Properties step of the Wizard when creating a New operation to eliminate the additional steps to have to turn…

Thanks Andy. I get that you can choose a global port number for IPSLA but that was not my question or desire to change the default port number. My question was/is in regard to device interface support. Given the example below, the primary routing path is via the fiber link (routerA s0/0 to routerB s0/0) and the…

Do you want to clone within a single database? Or copy from one DB to another?

Well, if you are a little brave (probably just +2 initiative, it's not too hard): * Step 0, to back up all console settings if you have any worries about messing stuff up, you can go to Manage > Appliances and hit Export User Settings (gear on the right) just in case something gets messed up. (If it does, "Import User…

I was able to add in the universal pollers and associate them at the node. But they're yielding no data.

Based on the way our SolarWinds is setup we are using a JDBC connection. Also there is licensing impact to use the Service Graph connector. We do not have the budget for this. So we need to expose views from the database in order to have ServiceNow pull the data.
-
As curtis mentioned, we'll need more info, with that we'll build a connector. If you're a customer, open a support ticket and they'll help. If you're working with a sales engineer and want us to validate that a connector can be built, they'll help gather the right info to confirm. We have connected to the SCOM database to…

the freespace alert would only be usable if you had a known size disk and then only put the database in that disk. then you can work some creative math for setting the alert based on freespace for the database size

Here's a link our Patch Manager team shared about all the logs for SCCM - holy moly ( ): Log Files in System Center Configuration Manager 2012 · Herman Arnedo Mahr This looks promising, though it's logged on the console side: (Log Name) SmsAdminUI.log (Description) Records information about the operation of the…

Hmm...then I'm sticking with 3.1 3.0.2 for now until this is fixed. Edited: Oops! I just realized I made a typo in version

Peter, "we are planning to add one more step to the whole process of getting ports into UDT which would allow import from NPM without a need of discovery." This doesn't help us. We monitor only uplink and selective ports in NPM. We monitor all ports with UDT. The UDT port discovery worked just fine pre-3.1. Why not expand…

It's a relatively high volume, but not unheard of for LEM. With rules/alerts you'll probably have to assign more RAM/CPU. You might want to even just to collect it, but it's hard to say, if you're just storing those events the default allocations might be fine. You could likely increase that by 50-100% and still be fine.

Bump for ideas from anyone....?
