I'm not sure if you can set it to run at a specific time, but I think you can. There are provisions for running an external program, possibly a batch file?, in the alert actions. You can also run an external VB script, but I'm not sure that would help you. The batch file would probably be the easiest.

While assigning an outside application resource to an internal resource removes the node down status with the Orion web interface, the information on the application page then becomes a convoluted mixture of information about the external application and the internal node. Basic and Advanced Alerts are completely independent. It sounds like your problem was the alerting service, which controls only the advanced alerts. Bouncing the service is what fixed your issues.

Same isue here, Applied Service pack 4 for orion 9.5 and now orion module engine is bounding. opened a trouble ticket lets see what they do ?

MrXinu - aha. I am not at all familiar with SDK verbs. I looked for a list of verbs but couldn't find that level of detail. Could I ask for a pointer to the documentation/example/tutorial material on how to use verbs? I'll search for PollNow in the meantime. Thanks for the direction on this.

rig24, can you save the web-based report as is? The Query is not valid because of the variable ${NodeId} used in the WHERE clause. If possible, make the SQL server a completely seperate server. We are seeing the effects of having everything on one server: web, NPM, and SQL...and we have FAR fewer elements than both of you guys. I believe that RAID 10 is the recomended disk config...don't even think of RAID 5.

It seems to be more zippy now I will report back tomorrow because I remember it being zippy prior and performance slowly degraded.

This is mostly the case however the trap aspects were not so clear nor was the ability to threshold only on this particular item.
