Hi Acy, Thank you for replying to my message. If the silent install skips the web access (it appears to), then I could run the separate installation you mentioned, hopefully it has some type of cmdline & silent install method. As you suggested,I will stop the service first before installing a newer version. -Dave

Additionally, I have loaded this into SoapUI and it also prompts for userid and password, and works w/o issue. Thanks, Daniel

NPM will support 2008 later this year.

You can edit the alert to not trigger until the condition has existed for XX minutes / seconds from within advanced alert manager. I'm not able to access advanced alert manager at the moment, or I'd upload some screenshots.

I would recommend that you avoid "not all".

Thanks Michal - I don't currently have the resources to run a beta for this product. I will, however, upgrade when the actual release is available. Thank you for the information.

Thanks. WIll do. Ticket Number is now 84125

We're trying to decide that now.

What class?

Okay, I got it to work. Maybe it was because I just configured a new Poller or something but I used the upsBasicBatteryTimeOnBattery and assigned it to all the UPSs. Then selected "Custom Node Poller" from the drop down list in the advanced alerts and put in: vendor is equal to American Power Conversion Corp poller name is…

I would go to the "Edit Application" page of that node. You can run a test on that application and it should tell you why that particular application is failing. Not sure if this helps but it's a start.

At this point, you should probably open a Support ticket.

Ahhhh, the ever popular configuration of Dependencies. I know that in the What We're Working On document, Automated & Dynamic Dependencies was listed. I can also tell you that in the 11.5 RC on the Manage Dependencies page, there is an option to "Calculate Dependencies Automatically", but it is still greyed out. So, until…

If you're experiencing generally slow times, then there's something specific to your system and you should open a Support ticket. If you're having that problem, then I can see why 8.5 wouldn't seem great. Let us help you get past this problem (and any other problems) and then re-evaluate.

Thanks Mark. I will create a feature request for this! Kathy

Looking at the attached screenshot, you can't add the error because the device doesn't accept the community string of 'public'. A couple troubleshooting steps: 1. Is SNMP enabled on the device? 2. Can you use any other SNMP tools to query the device? 3. Is the device using a community string other than 'public'? 4. Does…

Hello gbutler- Thank you for this query. I am having an interesting issue with it, however. When I view it on the Reports webpage, it is duplicating every entry. Have you ever seen this? Thanks, Mike

When you create a regex in the comparison criteria, it affects both Start vs Run and real time change detection. So if it invalidates the change, yes, you effectively have broken real time change detection.

My preference is A along with the remote users that are executing those jobs/config changes, etc, having their login credentials authenticated through a TACACs/Radius/AD server to log into Cirrus, and then all jobs performed from that session uses those credentials as pass-thru to the nodes. Scheduled jobs would have a…

I would like to know how to do this as well. Could you email me the information. Thanks..

Probably 9.x.

Ok. The Beta typically evolves into a Release Candidate, which can be put into production. We will support Beta participants on the RC in their production enviornments. RC is what we expect to be the final release, but we reserve the option to fix bugs in the RC.

To clarify/collate the responses: The default is that the guest is synced with the host, so you should make sure your host OS (VMware or Hyper-V) is synced with NTP and LEM will inherit that. The alternative is as Evan and Curtis mentioned, disable the host sync and use "ntpconfig" on the appliance directly. This basically…

It's definitely not ideally scalable. For non-agent nodes, I popped in the hostname* for all my devices that might report by hostname, and the IP ranges. For agents, the connector profiles regularly handle updates to the IPs/hostnames automatically. One thing I did was create a rule/filter for "something I don't know…

I was thinking you could filter by time, if you have predictable maintenance windows.

APM requires NPM. If you want to run a separate instance (i.e., a different database) for NPM with APM on top of it, you will need another NPM license. System requirements are specified here.

I have this working but it is detailed.... I added a Custom Property for Nodes called 'UPSStatus'. I created a Custom Poller to collect Status, load, temp, etc off of my APC devices. I then grab the data (scheduled SQL stored procedure) from the customer pollers and push them to the custom properties table. I then have an…

Is there any reason that the web-based audible alerts won't work? You can set the website to play a sound when a new alert appears, but the web console has to be up. This feature can be turned on and off based on the account.

One would think they would at least present the user with a choice One might think that, but providing that kind of choice is not free. We feel it's more important to deliver a wide variety of functionality through a web UI rather than deliver a smaller set of functionality that provides the choice of a web UI or a…
