  • Just to answer dsp's question (bit late I know) the username and password you make up yourself. Create it on the routers/switches similar to how you would a local user account, and then put those same credentials into Orion's web interface when adding the node. This is the command for an IOS router to create the user on…
  •  I still don't have a timeline.
  • guys has there been any movement on this yet? also, with the node restrictions, are we absolutely sure that if a customer were to play with the URL, they would not be able to see other operations sourced on nodes from other customers? cheers dan
  • I will check out your support case - some things aren't adding up for me. I'll check with them and let you know if I hear anything. There's a small population of L4/dedicated database users so I'm not surprised people on Thwack aren't jumping in I can say several have called in to support on the 6.0.1 upgrade with varying…
  • I have seen this also seems to not be consistent. Saw it in v7.8. reboots will sometimes fix it for a while and other times not make a difference and it will come back still showing unknown state.
  • Orion is not based on Nagios. It is not open source. It will not accept Nagio plugins. Orion is a proprietary solution, but it is customizable, very flexible, and quite affordable. While a solution like Nagios is nominally free, many of our customers have tried it and found that the overhead of deployment, configuration,…
  •  Ok, now we're cookin! My post is now visible. Thanks Mark! Hope that bug is fixed soon.
  • If your issue is that Orion is not picking up the interface descriptions he configured on the devices after adding them to Orion, then that will be fixed in the next release.
  • Actually I see I completely do not understand VRF and need to do some reading. Hope fully I can use this to help monitor my mpls connections. somehow :-(
  • The only way we get Sourcefire events is via syslog, we don't have any API connectivity to the centralized system.
  • or http://www.solarwinds.com/products/orion/application_monitor/application-performance-monitoring.aspx I don't use either so can give details, but if SEUM can run tests from the cloud towards your services then it surely should be able to do it within your private network.
  • I'm not sure why it's not working for you. It's not a known issue, and we have many customers successfully running APM using net-snmp. If you're not using the latest version of net-snmp, that would definitely be a good move. If that's not the issue, I'd have to recommend that you open a ticket so that we can look at your…
  • Art, This request is something I've heard a few times, but not a lot. I realize it's tempting to say "why don't you just do X? It should be easy." I know it's tempting because I find myself thinking it as a software consumer on an almost daily basis. But inside the sausage factory, it's more complicated. Sometimes it's…
  • With the last config template in mind; am I suppose to change the bracketed information such as {TransferProtocol}, {StorageAddress}, and {StorageFilename}? I thought I read somewhere else on here that the config was based on it negotiating those parameters with the WLC, but I want to clarify.
  • Rohan_h, I did something like this for my CUBEs. I created a Universal Device Poller using the cvCallVolConnTotalActiveConnections OID then divided that number by two as there is always the CUCM call leg and the ISTP call leg for each call. This gives you the total number of calls on your circuit and since you know how…
  • i have this problem every 4-8 weeks. turns out APM can not handle having a component_data table over a few hundred MB. it seems to scan the whole table when doing just about anything... i basically find that every time the APM component tables grows, i get APM components going into unknown, and i also get lots of false…
  •  What are your retention settings? NetFlow will keep compressed data for 90 days be default. It will keep uncompressed data for 60 minutes by default. It will begin compressing data after 15 minutes. It will delete the uncompressed data after 60 minutes. If that's not happening, then your system probably can't keep with…
  • agree with the nesting issue being the problem but might want to try this: Trigger Alert when all of the following apply Node Name is equal to SERVER NAME Trigger Alert when Any of the following apply Application Status is equal to Warning Application Status is equal to Down Trigger Alert when Any of the following apply…
  •  You can contact Support.
  • Thanks a lot Tim. I shall have checked the WSDL before coming to the conclusion that it didn't expose the Create and other methods... I will test the SSL cert substitution method and get back to you. The ZIP package you attached seems damaged though, I can't extract or repair it from my side. Instead I tried to use Axis2…
  • We fixed a DB maintenance bug in SP1. Are you running SP1? I installed the NPM 9.1 SP1 last night, and checking this morning the graphical time gap was in fact greatly reduced (4 hrs down to about 10 minutes). Hopefully the next service pack will completely remove the overnight gap in data. Thanks for the assistance, Mark
  • When we're reporting bps, we're using Orion's data that comes from the device via SNMP. Many other NetFlow products infer bps based on the throughput of the interface and the amount of traffic they're seeing. If that's the case, the SNMP data will be more reliable.
  • I will give SP1 for 9.1 a try, I had not yet installed that service pack thanks for the tip.
  • We will release a service pack for 1.1 soon, which should fix this problem.
  • Yes a quick look into X-Frame options revealed this : iframe - Load denied by X-Frame-Options: does not permit framing - Stack Overflow So it looks like McAfee don't let you put their application in an iframe by design. There is another way to achieve what you want to do. You could use a window switching application for…
  • Fulfilling Brandon's criteria solved the issue here. Although it was not our ideal method, it was much better than the alternative local login solution. Thanks!
  • You're saving the data for a year. If you can't see the data from November, that's not right. I would suggest you open a Support ticket so more data can be collected to help troubleshoot. Please include a link to this thread in your ticket.
  • Unmanaging on a schedule is coming...
  • Hey again, We're running ver 5.5 which lists this issue as resolved, but we're still seeing it :/ Really don't want to have to keep nightly backups just to have this graph work Any ideas? Jason
  • Yann, This works only if reporting on one UnDP. I can't get this to work with multiple UnDPs across a single row. For example, what I would like to be able to do is have the report list all UnDPs on one line. i.e., Nodename Ip address UnDP#1 UnDP#2 UnDP#3 UnDP#4 However, the result is 4 rows with each UnDP repeated 4…
