1 - I’ve looked and see no events on the lem when we clear the event log That's odd - but if they are in the event log and for some reason not being captured, that's fixable on the connectors side. 2 - We are not sure what you mean.. My question is, I suppose, whether you already have log data you're looking for that shows…

I'm glad to hear it worked for some of you - for me the upgrade process has been anything but painless.. During the 8.5.1 -> 9.0 upgrade process the installation hung with a database error - spend most of my day on the phone with solarwinds support to get it sortet out. After the upgrade to V9 - my custom poller charts are…

Hi tchitchi, Check the SolarWinds Partner Program page for more information about partnership.

You're right. I was confusing those two. For Traps, you can write to the Windows Event Log, and then use the Windows Event Forwarder to send it to Syslog. You can download the WEF from the Customer Portal under Orion Additional Components.

Does this means that SolarWinds will no longer be releasing WHD as a virtual appliance?

saw this happening nore often until i migrated to v10.2 now with the new version it seems to have worked out some of the bugs that were causing this. you also could be having issues with the NPM talking to the SQL server if they get jammed up it drops all the nodes then when the communication is restored it goes right to…

I made that mistake a few times too because originally the alert manager did have (still does?) a variety of general properties in just ${PropertyName} format, e.g. ${NodeID}. I think it was the move from 9.5.1 to 10.0 that introduced the ability of having any Property usable (which is a god send as we had some awful…

I had the same issue and turned off windows firewall under all profile tabs and its working fine now.

Hey Napoleon - a senior support staff member is going to follow up with you directly, and I'll check back myself when I get another spare second.

12.2(58)SE1 also has the problem. According to Cisco, the output discards are false-positives and not performance impacting and still an open issue at least in this IOS train. The Cisco Bug Details report is here. CSCtq86186 Bug Details Switch stack shows incorrect values for output drops on show interfaces Symptom: Switch…

It doesnt appear to be much of a priority to Solarwinds that this issue gets resolved. There has been a few posts here on thwack about this issue, but very little actual work to provide a fix action. I have the feeling this will get ignored as we are still discussing this after this post has been up for almost 2 years now.

I have a similar question. We are migrating from multiple regional NCM instances to a single corporate instance. I have a number of devices, policies, reports and rules that I need to move to the new server. I don't want to manually enter nearly 100 devices and their accompanying policies. Is there a way to export my…

Any luck with this yet?

Glad to be of help.

This works. Any idea why you couldn't simply select different property types? Seems awfully limiting.

1) You create a batch script every month to rewrite the “job config file” (in c:\program files\solarwinds\Configuration Management\jobs) with the new password. This is a windows batch file that was run under scheduled task 2) You create a NCM job to run the “job config file” after the batch script rewrote the “job config…

This is something we're adding in 3.0, which is due in the second half of the year.

Thanks for the reply Matt. Unfortunately that is unchecked and the web reports still "cook" the raw formatted data.

On here peter.kruty is a solarwinds rep, give him a try. What version of WHD are you running via the cloud? Have you tried to delete and reload the custom css style?
-
Thanks ! Very useful.

I'd like to help, but I cannot figure out exactly what's changed from your description. Can you give me detailed reproduction steps? Screenshots would really help.

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe pass through authentication is automatic once you configure it. From what I read in the documentation it didn't really seem to give you the option of not automatically passing through your credentials. If you don't clear the passwords in orion, you must set them up to…

You can still find plenty of information which is not necessarily SW related, and who knows, it might turn up to be useful for your current job. Nevertheless, if you choice is to not use this account, I can understand. Maria

Can you please elaborate on delay a little more? Let's say you have an alert configured for interface bandwidth > 90% and delay of 5 minutes. Does bandwidth have to be sustained for 5min > 90% for the trigger action to fire or will the action fire anyway no matter what the bandwidth is at the 5min mark? Its the first one…

As an side note. Ensure that your file names for the maps do not have dashes, semi-colons, colons etc. Otherwise the maps will not copy over. Found out the hard way.

Yes, the trigger conditions are still set up exactly as they were before the update. Only one alert is triggered as shown in the alert log but the trigger action continues to fire off emails even after it has been acknowledged. The option "repeat this action every X minutes until the alert is acknowledged" is set to 90…

I figured the first part of getting this done is to make sure the ESX servers are dealing with snmp messages correctly. I followed the following link: linky. When I get to the testing part I get the following message: Timeout: No Response from localhost. Things I have verified: * Firewall rule has been enabled * I can ping…

This is a known issue, and we'll be fixing it fairly soon.
