gimmie some of this.... i am about to start doing lots with Traps in my NPM install... but have to admit, i have never done anything with it, so this is worrying....

Unfortunately, I don't have any devices that support the OID either. If you do a MIB walk(using toolset or a third party tool) do you see any values there? If so, I'd suggest opening a support ticket(including diags and your MIB walk showing the value is there) and referencing this thread. If it's not there, at least you…

How did this process work out for you?

Hi HolyGuacamole Is NPM showing down time in minutes or hours ? Thanking you
-
Sounds like you need help from Support for this issue.
-
Can you post your ticket #'s? We're trying to consolidate all of the cases to roll them up into one thing to see if these are all the same problem and what's causing it.

The UnDP polling interval is based on the Job Engine which is every 5 minutes and is not customizable. This has been a high feature request and hope to be able to have the ability to modify it soon.
-
No, there is no event, and it would be difficult to do. If the standard poller loses its connection to the database, it won’t be able to put an event in the database for you to see it in the web
-
Turns out it was a permission issue. Ran script with same login as solarwinds and it returned a positive result. Thanks!
-
Got it. I've entered it into our feature request database.

guys Trending is a brilliant feature, very pleased with it. However, when do you expect SolarWinds to implement the ability to alert on deviations from the trend? i.e. alert to say “packetloss is expected to reach level blah blah blah in 4 weeks etc… “

What about one poller, but create a report that takes the diff between the last poll and the one before?
-
Understood. We are a little behind, and we're currently hiring to improve response times.

This seems like the most common request for file based verification. It's not the most common request. We delivered on the most common request. APM 2.5 has file functionality built in, but this was overlooked. Why? How is verifying the checksome of a file (and needing to go in an reset the checksum) more important than…

I figured it out. Thanks for all your help guys.

Now, will that work if the tunnel itself is not actually taken down? In our case, the tunnel is actually up all the time, we only place an ACL on the VLAN interface to prevent traffic flow.
-
Figured it out - the backing code for that connector was released in a hotfix (and subsequent LEM releases). You can download and install the hotfix from here: http://downloads.solarwinds.com/solarwinds/Release/HotFix/LEM-v5.5.0-HF1.zip - you only need the agent side to make it work. Edit - There's a readme in the hotfix…

Well, that'll do it. I'll take a look and see what we can do.

We don't think its Vista. There is a known issue with 9.1 where a tool must be launched from Toolset first before the integration will work. This may or may not be the issue. Launching Toolset Tools from the Orion Web ConsoleIf you have not launched a SolarWinds Toolset tool independent of the Orion Web Console and try to…

I had the same problem. Logged support call with Solarwinds and received the following fix after about 1 hour. Please open the Orion database Manager and connect to your SQL server. Expand your Orion database and do a right click on the Nodes table. Do the following Query: Update Nodes Set EngineID = '1' It shows that the…

There are some monitors in IPM 9.0 that aren't in APM 1.0, but we are aggressively developing APM and expect that situation to be reversed in the relatively near future. We are also working on a migration utility to move customers from IPM to Orion + APM. We couldn't build that utility until APM was complete.

Is this a change fro 8.1? Is there a bug we need to open? Denny, I'm not sure if this is a new bug, an existing bug, or not a bug at all. I've never tried using Orion variables in the custom HTML/TEXT resource. I was just sad to see that it didn't work. If this isn't a bug, and is by design I'll be happy to report it as a…

Thank you very much netloqix.

Another question to this is since I already have SL2000 installed do I actually have to uninstall the SL2000 version in order to install the SLX version?
-
For reference - in LEM, 4625 will either appear as MachineLogonFailure or UserLogonFailure, depending on whether the account name has a $... I'm not sure how the null SID and other details will appear, though, so if you get those details I'll be curious to see if we can distinguish them and how it looks in the event log.

We know that the All Nodes resource is slow, and the next SP will have a fix for that problem . I recommend that you try detaching each resource and watching it load. That will tell you which ones are slow and which ones are fast. Post the slow ones, and we'll work on speeding those up.

cjfranca It'll be Windows as it's collecting the stats via Powershell.

Hi Troyspr, Had exactly the same problem - unfortunately the information provided by Steve is not correct, all tools seem to require elevated rights to run. This may depend on the installation location and the signing on the files provided by Solarwinds. Can I suggest you log a support job for this as i'm sure that there…

Sorry, that's not in the next release, but we are planning to add some new functionality to the menu bar. Not tabs, more likely drop-down menus.

The same script is in your SolarWinds\Orion folder. Go to Start > Orion > APM and you can find them.
