Thanks for the response. Here's the screenshot anyway for anyone who may be wondering what it is I am referring to: Something I omitted from my original post, we are running NPM 10.7

We ran into some problems and had to do some rework. Sorry, but we didn't want to release it with the issues. It's a couple of weeks away.
-
Thanks! Need more people to vote! I had to remove the chart from our page, it was turning into an angry red mouthed Pac Man.
-
I'd say that it's more likely than not to be in the next release. But--and I've mentioned this before--no promises.
-
You should edit the "label" section so that you have no label or a "custom" label, which is blank.
-
That's something we're thinking about for the future. Discovery is getting an overhaul, but discovering modules is not going to happen in the next release. Maybe afterwards.

Are you using single or multiple vlan configurations with your Dells? It also works fine for me if I only use one vlan...but none of my switches use this basic of a configuration. I've worked with support on this, given them packet traces, etc and have gotten nowhere. I've since re-written parts of Cacti's Mactrack addon…

Of course. It's February. I'll look into the support side. In the interest of moving your SIM appliance to LEM we'll have to solve this problem anyway, or you'll likely just have it in two places. Can you check the appliance's manager log to see if there are more informative errors when you attempt to log in? Either from a…

Firstly, you would have to identify if the event is being logged to an event log. If the workstation are Windows 7, there is a plethora of event logs which are turned off by default. Identify which to turn on and get testing to prove the events are generated. Next you can go to LEM, Manage Nodes, select the node and click…

BobRoss- Point taken on changing the name, thanks, I thought about that strategy. However, it opens up a maintenance nightmare if a single parameter changes in the URL or the search string. As far as editing, others cannot see the URL or Search String details unless they have Node Management access. Best practice is to…

Joe, How much uncompressed data are you keeping? Denny

Changes to the Sysobject ID database are usually done with full releases.

Hi, I have a similar problem. We are finding that for some reason every Sunday morning at 01:00 the SQL server that hosts the Orion DB will use 100% CPU. If we reboot the Orion server the CPU usage is greatly reduced - until the following Sunday. I believe that this has happened for the last 3 Sundays. We did have…

Soc, I think you should open a Support ticket. It's not obvious why you're seeing this issue. Please reference this thread.
-
The awesome power of custom properties are almost impossible to overstate. Using Orion without custom properties is like paddling your speedboat. Sure, you can do it, but if you take the effot to crank the motor, you'll be gobsmacked by the power at your disposal.
-
Hi Jiri, can you message me your e-mail address please? I don't seem to be able to message you, the send button is greyed out when I try to PM you.
-
Anything change on this with the 8.5.1 version? Not being able to select witch interfaces generate events, the events become much less meaningful, just noise See my response to what I think is your same question on another thread: If it's a different question, could you elaborate?

That's what I was thinking as well with using the remote storage directly, I just don't know if the performance would be good enough over CIFS for it to be usable for search/reporting. (All of the LEM archive/backup stuff is CIFS-driven currently.) Right now it's all expected to be on disk, but since the files are…

also, not exactly sure what their definition of rogue is... sorry
-
Hmm. We also show groups defined by custom properties. Does that not help?
-
Yep

Vic, That's something we're working on. Some resources are just plain wide, and it would be great to have them span a page. We'll get that in, but not sure which release.
-
We need application level monitoring of this in addition to the cpu and memory. APM 2.5 can monitor applications on AIX. What is it you would like to do that you can't do?
-
Well, we could, but the main goal of that resource is to try to allow customers to customize to their own idiosyncratic needs--it's intended to further empower our end users. If we were to do something, we would build something for the large majority of customers, and it probably wouldn't do it in the custom HTML. Custom…

It does seem like it should work. Without more data, it's hard to know what we can say. It's time for a Support ticket, I think.

I am using 3.5.0 and have the veiws by device type set to ESX Server Details for everything VMWare. I have custom pollers set up for ESX that work just fine but just don't look that pretty. What I am getting is just the vanilla Node Details view when looking at any ESX server. I even tried rebooting the server a couple of…

Thanks zackm. This piece was key: "The limitation with the alert is that you can only return the columns identified in the top-level query". The alert count has dropped to the expected level and it appears to be working as needed!! Dobbs77

I run my SQL express and Orion on the same VM machine. This configuration may work on a very small deployment if you configure your disk correctly, and is sounds like ddemtra knows how how to properly optimize disk usage and database config on a VM. For anyone who's reading this, I would not recommend using SQL Express on…

basuically, be able to do the clever stuff NTA already does, but inside optimised traffic streams... don;'t know a lot about it, but i knwo one of my customers is signing up to a massive expenditure to implement the Fluke offering... if u understand it, you have a network link, you place 2 cisco network optimisers at…

It does depend a lot on what aspects of the node you are monitoring, if you are just doing SNMP as you say, you should be fine on a minimal internet link, i've monitored estates all over the world via a 1Mb internet connection. Which modules of solarwinds are you using? I'm sure you know that a little monitoring requires…
