At this point, I would open a ticket, include diagnostics, and reference this thread.

All you need to do is add the AIX box as a node in Orion. As long as it has an SNMP agent installed, Orion will monitor memory, CPU, network stats, etc. automatically--just like Window.

Well...it looks like Cattools is still hit or miss. I made some changes on our infrastructure on 3 devices. Cattools logged in, grabbed the configs, and only emailed changes on the secondary ASA. It did not pick up the changes on our switch, or the changes on the primary ASA. I will try the looking into the DEP…

Excellent! I went into compatibility settings on the diff.exe application and set it to run as administrator for all users. The initial test detectected changes on all devices, which is something it has not done in the past. We have a set of ASA's that replicate config for failover, and generally Cattools will detect…

I suppose that if Map Maker where to have the ability to dynamically create maps then this may be a solution, however I suppose you would want map maker to create a map based on a custom property for example building, have the option to move around the nodes and allow it to update the interfaces and connections (if it then…

Ian, If you are able to plan in the change from RAID 5 array to RAID 1+0 for the datastore hosting the LEM appliance, I strongly recommend this. If this is not feasible of course, then you will need to carefully monitor your disk I/O latency to see if problems persist in 5.7.0. If you don't have many nodes and not a high…

Well mav, looks like an option to clip the domain from the hostname didn't make it in 2.0. This resource really looks sloppy due to the domain name shifting the columns. Only improvement in 2.0 I see with this resource is there is now a 1-char blank separator between each column of data so the data doesn't run together…

Did you ever achieve disk health monitoring on your HP server? If so, can I ask how?

Hi I have a suggestion Why dont we all collaborate and create our own database and is maintained by the SolarWinds community, think of it much like the TOMTOM map share for SATNAV. As alot of us have CiscoWorks, we could build quite a extensive database today as alot of us have access to Cisco or have access to resellers…

If you use Tech Groups and Request Types. Admins will be able to search across departments. But you can use Tech Permissions to: "Limit to Assigned Tech Groups." They will not be able to assign or see tickets that are not in their assigned Tech Groups. Techs can be members of multiple Tech Groups if you need some Techs to…

We're using APM version 1, and we're having problems using this kind of set-up (third party monitoring services such as RPM,tomcat, SMTP, POP with only SNMP to monitor the services behind their firewall). What can you advise us to do, we tried using the .exe file (i.e. TOMCAT - tomcat.exe), APM querried it as dwon but the…

There is serious thought, but it's not in 9.5.

Hey Gary, If you haven't heard yet, this is in the current downloadable Connectors Update Package on the Customer Portal. In that update, we've followed the same pattern of mapping all of the buildup/teardown events to alerts when they occur at severity 0 and letting you choose which ones you want to see in real-time.

Follow-up Ran full discovery last night for all manually added devices in NPM. Both ConnectNow and NPM and CORE topology only recognize L2 trunk ports. L3 links to core network and Vlans are not seen. Not sure what good this is, being that I migrated from L2 networks about 10 years ago.

Understandable that the devices are in production. He is asking about how NCM is configured, do you only store configs that are changed? If you are not able to check your NCM configuration or make changes to it, you will not be able to fix it and no one will be able to assist you.

Did you save the search first? That is a key step
-
Any idea when V9 will be released - Early or late in the year? Yes, and yes.
-
Oh, as an after thought, will this same interface provide the ability to assign node to the desired poller too? Yes.
-
More importantly, what version of Orion are you using? The current version is 8.5.1 SP2. We have not heard about this issue for a long time.
-
The database supports 100 characters. Is it just cut off by the field so that you can't see it?

bump...any feedback on SP1 or the daily maintenance issue?

hi there, i managed to get APM and NCM showing in my additional webserver by installing the WEB components downloaded from the "addition components" on the customer portal at solarwinds.com. the web component for netflow on the SW customer portal is corrupt so i have logged a call to get it repaired, but the VoIP seems to…

We're experiencing the same problem with "IEEE 802.3ad Link Aggregate" interface types. Has a solution been found?
-
Actually, you can't quite do red/green. I was wrong on that. But you can do something. In APM 3.0, we added an SNMP monitor. This component monitor uses the SNMP protocol to retrieve an entry in a Management Information Base (MIB) by its Object Identifier (OID), and returns the value of the entry as a statistic. You can…

hit edit in the upper right corner of the web part like "nodes with problems" then in the filter part place this UnManaged<>1 will drop all the unmanaged devices for the interface issues in web parts like "down interfaces" i use Nodes.Status=1 to get interface data on up nodes only and Interfaces.Status<>0 will drop all…

Basic and advanced will be able to take advantage of your dependencies setup without a problem. The reason for that is dependencies don't really have anything to do with alert suppression, they affect how status is calculated. When a parent is down, instead of marking the child as down, it will be marked as unreachable.…

Thanks all for answering... Ok, so guide me here. Our Helpdesk has the Summary page display and logged in as Helpdesk. If a device goes down then they "should" hear the alarm sound. Right? This should draw their attention to the screen so they can look into it. What I am seeing is that in the above scenario that if they…

if i uderstand this corectly you could just make a map that has all the sub-maps feed into it and then monitor from the top map and when there is an issue drill into the problem from the higher level maps. That will also give you the ability to have the sub-maps available for each site to monitor if that is the desire with…

Try adding "Vendor Equals Windows"

Hi, There's no domain trust between the two domains and I'm told that it's not an option to set one up in the past. I've seem no issues with SAM monitoring between the two domains or to stand alone systems, so I'm confused why IPAM has this requirement when SAM does not. The documentation says create local accounts the…
