Yes. That's not for the faint of heart, but that's great if it gets the job done.
-
I can see why that'd be handy. Only thing I can offer is: 1) the SDK now supports adding nodes I believe 2) perhaps we can work out why the SQL INSERT fails as I've been able to add nodes via SQL with v10+
-
Notice you have application selected, so you could have 240 nodes with 127 applications on them. I would make sure that all of the nodes have application monitors assigned to them.
-
I don't think you can hack it. We are considering putting this back in for a future release.

Ralph, Unfortunately, you have had an unusual number of problems with APM, relative to the rest of the user population. However, to be clear, you had one problem with APM 1.0, and you now have a completely different problem with APM 2.0, even though the symptoms seems similar. Your first issue was fixed with APM 2.0, and…

The Orion web console does provide for web-based alerts. See here for how to configure them.

Need to know on this as well, any help?

So, Josh, to confirm: Will there be a "Broadband" version of Orion? We've been using Broadband v7.8.5 and have been waiting for a long time for the Broadband version to come out. Is v8.5 "broadband" capable since it supports custom MIBs? Thanks, Todd

I started out with these type problems myself and here's what I ended up with to fix my problems. MAYBE it will help your situation. I created a sub-folder in REPORTS just for those reports which will be 'emailed' - this is where I save those EMAIL ONLY reports. Then I created an seperate login account for just emails -…

You could also use a custom property. On your Orion server, go to advanced features -> custom properties. The select Nodes, add a custom property, build it from scratch, make it a text property, give it a name, and finish. That way, you can group your servers however you like- for example, we have "server type" then for…

Does anyone know how I can write an algorithm to on the links to get the utilization? I believe there is a way but I can seem to find any article about it.
-
Let's see if I understand. You want the unmanaged time to use the time zone of the node being unmanaged. Correct?
-
We are actively building a solution that will roll up data from multiple databases, and that solution is designed to work over a WAN. With that architecture, the question of cross-WAN failover for the hot standby engine should be moot.

It looks like you need to stop services on the polling systems in order to move nodes from one to another, is this true? yes Also, it would be very cool if I could move nodes from one poller to another via the managing nodes section of the web interface without shutting down services. Agreed. That's coming down the road a…

. I'm perfectly willing to contend I'm a very vocal, if not the most vocal (read; critical) about NPM changes in HTML/coding cosmetics over the years, and I can say in v9 I'm still not all that impressed. Well, Chris, I can't argue with that. I've been here for about two years, and you've greeted every NPM release with a…

Trending is just a core part of whatever we monitor. The question is whether we can collect that data. Those metrics should be available via WMI. Have you used APM to browse the WMI tree?

Start something new join a club, volunteer, make friends by putting yourself in a position where socialising is not the primary concern and making friends is inevitable. Don't "go out" per se, do your own thing... make waves. Be positive, no matter what. The world is your oyster. Especially us techies. We are all special.

I just took a look at the UnDP summary charts, and here's the behavior: The summary chart just shows an average. The min/max/avg shows the avg value, as well as showing the min and max values for all pollers. So if you have one poller assigned to 10 nodes returning the values 1-10, 1 will always be your min and 10 will…

The LEM appliance's database is self-maintaining and stores as much as you have disk space allocated to the appliance. The database will fill and as it becomes There is a KB article that explains more: SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: How many days of live data will the LEM database store?

Tony, Let's start fresh. You're posting on a 4-year old thread, and the product is very much changed since then. What are you trying to do and what's the problem you're seeing?
-
Yes, I think so. I'll do a quick example to be sure... If you create an email template with variables: * $FIRST * $SECOND * $THIRD Then make the email body: "$FIRST" from "$SECOND" at "$THIRD" They are placeholders for data you want to bring in from the rule, so that when it fires you know exactly what happened. In the…

if solarwinds read this post... can i get an understanding of this madness.. i know it complained about again and again have you ever done the maths on this... i mean there must be a shocking amount of NPM users who want NTA but refuse to buy it due to the stupid license mechanism (i.e. must match NPM) if you would fix…

Ohhh - the AppLocker Event Log itself (duh). There is a separate connector to monitor that event log directly. You will also need to do some magic to make the connector hook up to the log - it's looking for Microsoft-Windows-AppLocker/EXEandDLL (note the spaces are removed). I don't know what these steps are and don't see…

Hello All- Has this since been addressed or fixed in Network Sonar? Do we have to manually mark those interfaces for every Network Sonar job? Thanks, Mike

This will be fixed in the next service pack.

Same question I was going to ask. We currently use a product called GroupWise (by Novell) for our mail system. I want to replace a system we use to measure round trip time with email to our different sites. The Mapi component is ok for Exchange but I need to build my own custom component for our particular system to use…

QUESTION: is there any way to include Custom Poller (UnDP) ports into the view which is named OVERVIEW? (this may be a Feature Request, if so, let me know) This isn't possible, but it's something we'll consider. Do you use Overview a lot? How do you use it?

Did you received the netflow data on Orion Server? I used the same config but Orion Web Console doesn't receive any netflow data from my C9300 switch for some reasons.
