thanks for your kindly reply. more "IP Address" will be UnDP pollered, like below: But the poller data Value is only one of the first ip address. Actually, it is not correct of the poller data in the database, just have single "ip address" :

so, what if I need to run APM and other tools that request domain accounts to get into the apps within those servers?, what if I need to monitor the AD and exchange server? as for what I am understanding is that I won't be able to do so using windows authentication, and might not be able to use WMI either, right?

each EOC user account must be linked to a single Orion NPM account on each Orion NPM servcer that the user need to see on the EOC web site. Yes. Think of like this: EOC will access each Orion web console on behalf of the user. What I don't understand is why I had to create a Windows account on the EOC server in order to be…

APM 2.0 will be shipping soon, which all the ETA I can provide. The business hours feature is something we're hoping to add in an upcoming release.

Just uploaded the template: Active Directory Search-ADAccount.apm-template
-
D'oh ! okay, I edited the chart and it now appears correctly. (you'd think I've spent enough time with Orion to have tried that already, but I didn't) Thanks !

ODBC UE isn't a template it's a component monitor - are you looking in the right place?

+1 here

Do any maps work? Tried to create a simple one device map?

We use a Microsoft function to do our formatting. The best documentation for I've found for the supported options is here: msdn.microsoft.com/.../73ctwf33.aspx. The version of the function we use supports most of the options, but there are a couple that don't seem to work('G' for example).

You don't need the MIBs, just the OID. I suggest you watch this tutorial--it would be 10 minutes well-invested: www.solarwinds.com/.../tutorials.aspx

At a time when most companies are consolidating costs and moving away from unix/oracle environments to lower TCO environments it would seem a strange move to support Oracle at this time.
-
According to SW release note for NPM 11.5.2
-
what would it take for it to be considered for the roadmap? Is it if enough customers would happen to request support for Oracle that would give it more visability? It would take a lot of customers requesting it. Oracle support is not a small feature to implement, and it would increase the testing matrix forevermore.…

Thanks. The move to Agent polling has already made my life easier on the Windows side. The AD configuration here is volatile and varied, so depending on a domain login that might suddenly stop working due to a domain shutdown, migration, or consolidation is a recipe for disaster. The Linux agent will also be a godsend. SAM…

Hi Michal, I am pleased to share with everyone my experience feelings

I found another issue with reports. I used to have several reports that listed node name, IP address, etc. but they also listed the polling engine (node details...polling details..server details...server name) that monitored it. None of those reports work now. Is this by design ?
-
Will do.

Only time that's ever happened to me was when my license either expired, wasn't in there or the trial time ran out.

Thanks CourtesyIT, It's more that I need to raise a change control with CAB and then carry out the upgrade of NPM (plus pollers & web server) out of hours.Which I don't want to go though twice in as many weeks. Lost track of how many of these upgrades I've now gone though... Jon.

Have you tried FQDN\username? (domain.local\username) Also, you might check the Internal Alerts (SolarWinds Alerts, LEM Internal Alerts, etc) filter to see if you've got anything there that might indicate an error or problem authenticating with AD. You might also see messages in the log on the appliance, which we can use…

We followed the instructions listed in the Orion NPM 10 admin guide.

Awesome! I missed that. Thanks Francois.

The problem with .*Ethernet is if in the config it says, description foo foo Ethernet, that line will match. You should try to be as specific as possible when creating regular expressions as you can create match logic that will create memory issues and crash applications that are written poorly. [aA-zZ]+ would actually be…

The NetFlow on the ASA is using Cisco's flexible netflow feature to send security info with the netFlow protocol. It is not the same data as a standard NetFlow packet, which is why NTA doesn't recognize it. What business problem would that data solve for you?

?? Looks like I have discovered that Smart Subnets are useless unless you use the actual IP instead of the FQDN, so I have deleted all of them. So this begs the question, if I was using FQDN when I first set the all up, how did the original IP Smart Subnets get created.?

We are running NPM 9.5

OK. I see your ticket. I added this Thwack link to it. We're trying to reproduce in-house, which is the first step for us to diagnose and fix.

Justin, I've said in other posts that we plan to support table-based MIBs in the next release, but I'm not comfortable promising anything since we're in planning mode for that release. I can tell you that it's some months away and that if you upgrade to 8.5, you'll be running it for a while. Wait for 8.5.1 which is due in…
