You need to put : in the time, i.e. (CONVERT(Char, EventTime, 108)> '07:30') AND (CONVERT(Char, EventTime, 108)< '21:00')

Mike... this is something I've gone over and over with support; the admin guide needs to be re-written because the steps are in some cases wrong or not needed. Here's what I had to do post v9... "Here is the process that I went through to fix it. Yesterday I completely rebuilt the extra web server to verify the results.…

Good request. Thanks.

Was trying for the latter. I found the relevant fields in the database, but updating the db doesn't update the solarwinds site. I have about 100 App pools to unmanage, and it was taking a minimum of several minutes to unmanage each one via the website. Is there a command or SQL query to force solarwinds to update?

cmarroquin. This is a pretty old post, yes! Right now we are using the Windows Server Active Directory Security application and have the 4740 event ID as one of the params for the "User account: Account was locked out" component. In that component you can specify a keyword or regular expression to include, so maybe that…

I am in the same boat. No money, maintenance lapsed. I could use the patch as well. Thanks!

Run SQL development studio on the server. Select your database and click 'new query'. Enter desired text and hit execute.

Thanks superfly for the reply yes you are correct map b is linked to map a and map c is linked to map b if a node on map c goes down the alert is passed to map a however if say an interface on the node on map c goes down the node on map c shows the problem of its child however that issue is not passed up to map b or a.

Can i be on the beta please?

If you don't need intrusion detection functionality (lots of people have separate IDS functionality or don't want to start using it until they are ready), or want to dedicate an interface (or appliance) to that rather than using the default interface, it's safe to disable. PS: You can always re-enable it later, so I think…

We've confirmed with our QA team that IIS8 DOES in fact work, but there are similar problems with IIS8 as there are commonly with IIS7. You'll need to go into the IIS logging configuration (in Logging, "Select Fields") and add fields that are de-selected by default but LEM uses to get key data like the hostname/source of…

no prob :-) i am waiting for solarwinds to add a volumes option there, not sure how they forgot

Right into the Custom MAC list , via copy paste from the Excel file.

Same here. I saw this all the time on my last deployment, and there were only about 80 hosts and 1500 VM's.

Hi Lucy, LEM 6.0.1 has the export option greyed out for email templates. Raising a feature request for this if one does not exist is the way forward. +1 for enabling the export option.

Thanks for the response. : - ( Hopefully soon this will be released in some kind of Hotfix or Service Pack. Until then I'll just have to deal with 2 monitors. One with the map showing the physical infrastructure and one displaying APM Summary. Thanks for the replies.

We can support ESX today because it uses net-SNMP. However, ESX hides most of its memory from net-snmp. So in Orion 9, we will improve ESX coverage even more. * we will recognize ESX instead of net-snmp out of the box and label it as VMware * We will also properly gather and report on the memory for and CPU for ESX

This isn't possible in reports. Reports represent the output of SQL queries. They do not currently support graphics.
-
Ok, it now makes sense however UP is misleading. UP is the opposite of DOWN and implies the monitor was down/unavailable when it is not. It is still operational but reporting a degraded state. NORMAL would be better applicable to states Warning/Critical and eliminate confusion. I would like to recommend this change as a…

Nevermind, I was just being impatient. It is working now. Thanks again for the help.
-
Yes, I did. Once I got snmp working, that option showed up. I have changed it but it still shows down.
-
I also had this issue and what it turned out to be was the time variable in the config. Everyday the date and time changes on the show running config thus indicating that the configuration had changed and it backs up the config. If you go into NCM and select to ignore that line from the configuration comparison then it…

Still getting an error: Not Found: Resource Not Found The resource you requested does not exist.

I created a ticket for this on 7/20. Case # 106955 . Only occurs on certain things...everything is fine on initial page load, but when certain things are moused over, the script error occurs. I believe it was reported as a bug...

Are you using NTA 2.2? Older versions of NTA are not compatible with Orion 8.5.
-
So only APM reports are a problem. Can you run them in the Report Writer? Are they just a problem in the web console?
-
I believe the 5.5 release will help with the zig zaggy stuff you're seeing. It's not actually in a hotfix, but support can also do a manual adjustment if you don't want to wait. We do have some general guidelines on resources, scaling, and tuning that our support team uses with customers, but because of the variation in…

Yeah, it's kind of counter-intuitive, but to rewind... Does your LEM VM have fixed CPU resources assigned? Under Settings > Resources > CPU, is "Reservation" and "Limit" specified or is it set to "Unlimited"? If it's set to "Unlimited", you should try setting it to a FIXED amount of CPU, rather than "Unlimited" (e.g. 2000…

Sort of, but what about other items that can be assigned to nodes? What About nesting? What if I wanted to have a class called Cisco Routers and under that Routers with WAE Modules. Or nest servers such as All Servers -> All Remotes Servers -> AD controlers. The Custom Tag only allows one level of granularity. What about…

Scott, that was good advice. Upon removing the suppression rule, it did indeed send me an email that the node was down. With that also came all kinds of other alerts, so that rule has a wider effect than anticipated. I will look into it further in the next coming days. Happy to mark your answer as helpful and eventually as…
